Stunning Growth
Sat 07:11
One of the biggest dangers that high growth companies face is the “valley of death” - the challenge of managing the cash before the revenue comes streaming in to sustain the level of growth. There are plenty of articles out there and plenty of practical examples good and bad, but it is generally recognised that it take around 3 years to get to the point of being cashflow positive.

What is incredible for LVCG is that they seem to have reached that point well within 18 months and they seem to have reach the point of organic growth sustainability. From the half year accounts we can see that they are already making a profit and their cash demands to satisfy the incredible growth and take account of the opportunities that Zoo’s presented in particular have been met by the last two fundraisings. (With the one in February being done from existing investors in the business including the Chairman who added another £250,000 to his already circa 40% shareholding)

We are waiting to see the annual accounts at the end of the month along with the brokers note that will give forward projections, but if you look at the events that have already taken place this year you will see that they are delivering events and bringing in significant revenue (the Zoo rentals are bringing in circa £50/60k per month). Take this month, they have 16 simultaneous activities going on around the globe, each of which is bringing cash into the business.

Bricklive centres (x5)
BL kids cafe, Seoul
Bricklive Cologne
Bricklive Mexico
Bricklive Force, Explorado, Germany
Outer Space Lincoln
London Motor show
Comicon 2019 London
Brookfield Zoo
Animal Safari China
Brickosaurs Marwell Zoo
Great Safari Whipsnade Zoo

And coming in June:

Great brick Safari Woburn Safari Park
Bricklive Ocean Edinburgh Zoo

It’s hard to believe that this company only started up 18 months ago from a single show where they rented their content. Now they own all their content and all their IP and are planning to deliver 60 events in over 20 countries across 4 continents. The growth has been simply stunning. And this high growth shows no sign of letting up, with the target of over 150 events by 2021. But what is even more impressive for investors is that as well as increasing their footprint across the globe they are also increasing the revenue and profitability of each event. We have heard the Chairman say that licence fees are now “spectacularly good” and they are now going to promote, market and promote the whole of the Bricklive Birmingham show themselves.

RE: Comic Con London
Fri 00:17
And a quite significant point. The President of ReedPOP is Lance Fensterman. His bio states;

“He lives in the woods of Westchester County, NY with his wife, a gaggle of animals a massive collection of Lego’s. Last year he logged 270,000 miles in the air while helping to create killer events for geeks all over the globe.”

So a guy that is a huge fan of Lego, runs a company that has puts on global fan based events, who’s parent company spent £970m on 9 acquisitions in 2018 - and also paid £200m for Mack Brooks (Corp event company) earlier this year - has just signed BrickLive to be part of it London ComicCon.....

I get the feeling this won’t be the last time we work together!
