Londoner,

If you buy into the scribblers' forecasts for Galliford for the next three years, and furthermore that it's onward and upward from there, then, yes, I would say that that would make Galliford good value based on the current price.

However, to buy into that would also mean buying into the notion that, from here, Galliford are going to be making a return on equity of over 30%, i.e., more than twice the 13.5% average that they've actually achieved over the past six… Read More

Assuming it is a rights issue.

Based on 83m shareholders, shareholders will pay £1.81 for each share they own in the £150m rights issue - excluding fees.

Let's be clear, management's view is that withholding the dividend over the next year or two does NOT meet the near term cash demands… Read More

"Is the figure 150 million firm or tentative? Or just testing shareholder reactions?"

PAKKA, there may be an argument for a lighter figure but unless the difference was significant I doubt it would be worth arguing about. I suspect the market will go with managements £150m figure.

I'm just running some numbers and I'm concluding that because of the expected high dividend payout over the next couple of years I don't think this rights issue - and hopfully that's what it is -… Read More

Thanks guys
Getting to understand what is going seems hard work. Is the figure 150 million firm or tentative? Or just testing shareholder reactions?
Current holders willing have lost massive multiples of the dividends. Nearer ex date dividend hunters might push up the price
