dprussky, don't quote me on this, but I believe the issue with Hungary is exactly what you said - "the geology".

The Sloznok formation almost certainly has a few TCF of gas in place, however I don't believe that the tight sands in the Mako Trough will frack anywhere nearly as well as the shale in the Beetaloo does! In the Beetaloo we have massive numbers of gas molecules sitting right on the surface of the hard shale rock and when fracked the gas can move relatively easily… Read More

Was catching up on the news this morning and found this interesting article.

Geopolitical situation maybe right to get Hungary projected fired up again. Are we missing good reliable partner to get this to finish line? Or geology just does not work

A $3 million independent inquiry found the risks associated with the controversial gas extraction method could be mitigated to "acceptable levels" if 120 recommendations were implemented in full. I agree with what Dave Wane said in the comments. Get cracking on the on shore gas and that will be a positive social impact.

I stand corrected - just ventured into the detailed report - all of one of the case study areas is included in Falcon's concession - there seems to be two separate smaller blocks for the case study. Also, Larromah has 47 people - Daly Waters has 9 people - guess you can't always rely on Google!

Looks likeI need to spend a little time this weekend on the Beetaloo Sub Basin detailed report.
