If you have your sipp in a nominee account you can just sell any profit and sit on the cash, this will devalue at the rate of inflation but won`t change or be at risk, if you need to be ultra cautious and lock money away its better to invest in defensive stocks....defensive stocks are those that investors jump on when the markets collapse as they don`t get affected too much by such events.
A typical defensive stock would be a utility company, nobody turns the electric off so the stock remains even and still pays dividend.They are very boring stocks but will maintain your money much as well as any pension fund.
The only thing is its sort of missing the point of a sipp by investing in stock that a fund would but its as safe as it comes and if you feel comfortable with your profit and your risk profit is diminishing then that's the safe route.
Hope that's of help, I'm sure others my have other good advice.
