I may be in the wrong ball park with this,

But maybe it was the Oman deal that has actually caused problems. Maybe the protestors would not have got a platform for this deal?

Maybe it is that which needs addressing for the licence to be looked on favourably.

"I think that in time the unfounded paranoia over the use of nuclear power will subside. The statistics and research
are there for all to see, if people want to."

Its just been used as an excuse to stop BKY mining there. under different circumstances these useful idiots would not have been selected.

"It may take quite some time, probably a nationally self-inflicted energy crisis, to reinforce this point."

Well they have been warned, perhaps their pride has been hurt that they made a mess of uranium extraction in the location some years prior!

"It would take a very narrow minded view to suggest that all is fine with the future of energy generation; no oil, no gas, no coal, no nuclear..? "

Wishful thinking solar and wind power will see them through!

"There has been no coherent or realistic alternative energy policy put forward..or have I missed something?"

Perhaps they are fully subscribed members to the Ocasio-Cortez school of silly?

I wonder how much nuclear electricity they will be buying from the French nuclear grid on the quiet in the years to come?
