Mon, 5th Feb 2007 08:52 LONDON (AFX) - Biopharmaceutical company SR Pharma PLC said it will get a 1.5 mln usd mileston
e payment to mark the start of a clinical trial on a drug that treats age-related blindness.
This comes on top of a 2 mln usd milestone received in 2006.
The drug, known as RTP-801i, is licensed from SR Pharma subsidiary Atugen AG and is used in the treatment of Age-related Macular Degeneration.
The company said this Phase I study is being funded by Pfizer Inc, which in-licensed RTP-801i, and is being carried out by Quark Biotech Inc.
