Dec 9 (Reuters) - Futura Medical Plc said on Tuesday it received interest from a number of potential partners for its treatment for premature ejaculation as the drug showed positive results in an early stage study, sending Futura's shares up 5 percent. The pharmaceutical group said the Phase-I study of the drug, codenamed PET500 and being developed in gel and spray formulations, met all endpoints.
In the study of 20 healthy volunteers, PET500 was shown to give a rapid and controlled reduction in penile sensitivity, thereby having the potential to prevent premature ejaculation, the company said in a statement. Shares of Futura Medical were up 1.25 pence at 27 pence at 0924 GMT on the London Stock Exchange.
