cial markets on Thursday.
The lira stood at 1.7675 against the dollar at 0535 GMT, firming from 1.7706 late on Wednesday.
The two-year benchmark bond yield closed at 9.44 percent from a previous 9.45 percent. The main stock index rose 0.4 percent to 59,940 points.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian shares rose, retaining positive momentum as the U.S. Federal Reserve reassured markets it will keep its very accommodative monetary policy stance to support growth, while optimism grew over strong quarterly corporate earnings.
The dollar steadied after falling to a three-week low against a basket of major currencies, following the outcome of the Fed's meeting, while the euro stood near a three-week high of $1.3237 touched the day before.
VAKIFBANK
The state-run lender said on Wednesday it received bids worth more than $2.6 billion in the sale of a $500 million Eurobond.
BIZIM TOPTAN
The wholesale retailer posted first-quarter results on Wednesday, including net income of 7 million lira and revenue of 429 million.
