Hi chuffchuff, I have also resigned myself to a similar thought. I think we’ll all have Christmas firmly in our sights before the deal is done with Newmont, hope that I’m wrong but that’s what I expect.
Saint George Day
Saint George is the patron saint of England in
a tradition established in the Tudor period,
based in the saint's popularity during the times
of the Crusades and the Hundred Years' War.

There's been so much froth over so little news the past few days. As far as I'm aware there have only been a couple of things worth seriously noting - the SD interview and a link to a post regarding the status of the shutdown at Telfer. The rest has been high conjecture (though nothing wrong with that provided feet are also kept on the ground).
I do keep hearing people say SD should be addressing the SP, but I've heard no sensible suggestions as to how - unless he is going to seriously undermine his sensitive negotiations. There also seems to be expectation around the quarterlies due on Thursday - but what exactly do we expect to hear? I am personally resigned to waiting this out until the 6 months that Newmont had originally inferred for this aspect of their divestment to be worked through. Nevertheless, if there is no serious interest from other parties due to our right of last refusal then perhaps (hopefully?) the deal will be done sooner. I can only take SD at his word that amyone invested can be optimistic. Note the present tense - those invested right now! We all have different attitudes to risk. Personally whilst I regard the upside as massive in owning the lot it does make me nervous regarding the deal and the liabilities of Telfer, though I'm reminded too of the vast experience of those supporting Shaun. My own time frame would have preferred we mined as a partner but this lca could be a blessing in disguise even if I had hoped for a slightly faster route to profit for my own circumstances. I said I'm nervous, but I'm still entirely optimistic and still buying as and when I can without going crazy. My average will hopefully drop to 7p soon so an upside for me won't take much though I know others are in deeper water. Ignore those who never back up their pathetic snipes.
As the GOLD price is recovering from this morning's lows, GGP is also recovering from this morning's mark-down.
It is only a matter of time before the 6p offer moves higher
Hmm i'm wondering if i should be concerned at the fact I'm not concerned lol?!
I'm way over levereaged here [10p Avg] and it's my only play, with just over a years salary invested here but I sleep like a baby! I'm a believer just hope SD can pull it off.
Let's go SD!!!
Some will probably say it’s stupid to be not concerned about us being at 6p, but……say we were now at an SP of 15p for example, gives us a market cap. of just over £750 million. Most of that could only be attributed to our 30% of Havieron. If you were Newmont what would you be saying in negotiations? If you were their shareholders what would you be saying? I’m not necessarily suggesting that’s the only way they’ll value it but just another way of looking at it for now in the present circumstances and putting a silver lining on the current SP perhaps.
Not having a FS or a DTM for Havieron at the moment, is that really a bad thing at this time? That’ll come at exactly the right time i reckon.
Is it cheaper to buy a project or a world class mine?
GLA
Deal Or No Deal - Im still happy having 30% of potentially a 20moz + Gold and Copper mine, but I will be even happier if its 100% for not much more invested in relation to what could come out the ground. - BE HAPPY
This is the question!
In or Out
Down to yourself, there can be as much speculation as you like Pro’s and Con’s the bottom line is , what deal Shaun can thrash out with Newmont!
All the best Ben
I agree panama absolutely no point walking away from this one now , as you say the rewards outweigh the risks . For some this could be a great entry point gla
Agreed, this continual 6p (and until we know more) is not cutting it for most folks I would imagine?
Lets just hope the superstar board can pull something out of the hat before too much longer, one way or another?
Also, who would have thought that 2024 whom lots of us were looking forward to, would be so meh!
I think, as ever, Charles Archer put it quite succinctly in this podcast! Uncertainty is a black shroud for most new investors. They need some certainty as to direction , which of course is what we are all waiting for.
He went on to say that if SD does find a way, through debt & equity to buy the lot, then there is still high risk, which of course there is; but then the rewards are also high if longer-term.
Not for the faint-hearted but after the past three plus years...we could all be like Paul Johnson in this piece if we cut n run....a lot worse off in the end!
You either believe or you don't and not an easy choice..but 6p doesn't cut it for me! I am 'down' at this point so not even considering it. But no one said it was easy. We all deserve a break!
GLA!
Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. For him not to have bought back in after had005 is quite remarkable.
Sorry MH must have been posting before your post .
Sounds like a bitter man from that interview.
Paul Johnson is just bitter as he chose to sell too quick
Jiffy
Sounds like Paul Johnson sold out at around 2p as he says at 38p he would have made another 35m .
James - Versucht, let me guess, you were only supposed to sell 1850 shares but accidentally sold 1.85m?
Post of the day - so far
And we’ve just gone blue. Come on Plode keep up.
They just opened the store 5.95 for £10K
I now know what the Julia Roberts, Pretty Woman character felt like - money in my hand and the store assistant says no!
Happens on IG
Can buy 250,000@ 5.95p
But can’t buy little amounts.
Usually ticks up slightly. Then be able to buy again later in day.
Just smoke and mirrors……
Still waiting patiently for my little slice of history
Gl
I can get small quotes but £1K - forget it
However, I just tried again and now I can get a quote.
The stock is already higher for the day, let's see if this is a bounce back that the share price well needs.
They are walking the price up on very large instant sells
