Not sure yet Sitting ... as long as it's not DB again as they loan everything out from what I can tell and give us a great price of a whole 67p. When they ramp up their target price, then that'll be the trigger to the shorters in my view.

Looks like a 2.8m buy just gone through. That coupled with the rather large (not uncrossed!) trade late yesterday, someone is acquiring nicely at these prices.

I hate tiny oil companies, I don't like any of them.......not even PMO! I think tiny oil companies are wasting money and they need to merge to bring costs down.

Here you go. Potential Babbage suitor?

London-listed junior RockRose Energy has signed a sale and purchase agreement to acquire the entire issued share capital of Japanese player Idemitsu Kosan£s UK subsidiary. The deal for Idemitsu Petroleum UK will include interests in several producing North Sea fields operated by Repsol, Shell and Premier. Idemitsu's assets comprise a minority interests in Repsol£s Ross (30.8%) , Black (30.8%) , Beauly (40%) , Burghley (41.1%), and Galley (17.4%) fields, and a 50% share of the Spanish group£s Tain field.
Under the deal, RockRose will also acquire a 7.5% interest in Shell£s Nelson fields and a 20% share of the supermajor£s Howe field. RockRose will also get a 6.8% share of Premier Oil£s Balmoral field and a 16% interest in the Stirling asset.
Following the acquisition , RockRose will have a projected 6200 barrels of oil equivalent per day to 7000 boepd of production in 2018 on an aggregated basis.
The value of the deal was not disclosed, but RockRose said it will be funded out of the existing facilities and cash resources.
Completion of the deal is subject to UK Oil & Gas Authority approval.
"RockRose is continuing to deliver on its stated strategy of building a business through the acquisition of mature producing assets. We believe that this acquisition is a significant one for the company and that this portfolio also has a lot of potential for extended field life and gives Rockrose access to significant tax losses,£ chairman Andrew Austin said.
"We continue to review further acquisition opportunities in North West Europe and, post completion of this along with the previously announced Maersk, Sojitz and Egerton transactions by the end of this year, will have established a material business in the North Sea, set to deliver value to our shareholders,£ Austin said.
Earlier this year, RockRose picked up a raft of minority stakes in gas assets in the UK£s southern gas basin from Japan£s Sojitz. Last September the company struck a deal with Maersk Oil's North Sea subsidiary to acquire the Danish company's interest in the Wytch Farm field, its stake in the Scott field and a interest in the Telford field, all in the UK.
RockRose shares have been suspended from trading pending a new prospectus to be published in the coming weeks, which will include a competent persons report on the assets of the company as enlarged by the acquisition.
