You clearly don't understand this business
Can't believe it won't. Belt up everyone! :))
BUT will the price rocket up with it. we have waited a long time for this day?
Always go to the source for a good live video stream, starting 15 minutes before liftoff scheduled 21:34UTC. All information here: http://www.arianespace.com/mission/ariane-flight-va242/ Good luck today!
Should have Googled sorry https://www.rocketlaunch.live/launch/superbird-8-dsn-1-hy
If I’m not mistaken we have lift off tomorrow? Is there a live launch link video anywhere?
Correction, it was actually XXShakenbake... who took the time to reply to my long list of questions. GCCRa had left an earlier post about the technical side - which he's clearly got his head around - that also helped. Romaron's posts have been really helpful about the strategy of the whole thing, and OPB about the financial side (actually understands the docs! :). Others too. It's the Ronald Reagan strategy! Thanks everyone.
Given the incredible spread (and the variation in it), and the way the prices quoted often make no sense at all (for instance at the moment the 'SP' is above the Ask price, and it's often below the Bid), I wonder what sense the market cap figures are at all at the moment. I am not an 'informed investor', I am learning, sometimes painfully. Here it was less painful: thanks to GCCRa's really helpful response to my questions in December I invested a small amount at 6.48 and am a very happy teddy. It was described as buckets of dog pooh at the time.... well, more of the same please?!!! Maybe we'll get more sense after the launch... But it may take some time.
Thanks OPB - yes, point well made. Of course, that's still only $380m, so smaller than 'miniscule' in GCC language...;-)
MTB - you're being a bit naughty with your use of statistics... AVN's real market cap at present is approx 275mil This is the current cap of 20.6 which is for 7.5% of the restructure value. The market has already factored in the restructure. And yes, I agree there will be sizeable debt - it's up to the new management to resolve the income conundrum. The positive message is that they are experts in the African market. Recent news of developments in Nigeria are certainly positive. I don't have 'rose tinted' glasses - but I'd like to think I'm 'informed' - certainlt I have read the documentation from the restructure which clearly explained the debt holders had no option if they wanted a reasonable return. They have been pulling the strings for the past year and that's why there is a new management team with real focus. Time will tell......
I am hoping for better sales performance after the launch based on the following extract from a recent RNS "In addition, there is a large infrequently recurring transaction in the pipeline that, if it closes, would add a further $40 million to Group revenue, with $18 million of associated costs, in the current year. With effect from the end of the current financial year, the Company expects substantial growth in revenue driven off the introduction of HYLAS 4 to the fleet opening up new markets in sub-Saharan Africa. The big thing for me is to complete the launch successfully and then follow up with news of new contracts for HYLAS 4 bearing in mind the re-financing is almost complete. GLA.
Two can play at that game (but only one of us is an informed investor..) Any comments?? "So $450m is, er, 'miniscule'? What word would you use to describe Avanti's market cap then? (PS - it's about 18m)"
Details at http://www.arianespace.com/mission/ariane-flight-va242/ Feel the excitement!
My other half and I have been in here for a long time too, having got in at 2.59. We've both averaged down to 18p and 44p respectively, so hoping to get at least some of it back once Hylas 4 launches. Keeping everything crossed. GLA
Hopefully (as I have a very large quantity of shares) all you optimists will be proven right. However, we are still left with a company struggling to sell capacity, without which AVN is dead in the water. Take a look back through the RNS's and you will see lots and lots of announcements on structure, funding, etc but pretty much nothing on sales. If we are very lucky it is because management has been distracted by all these other issues, but now they can get back to the day job and build profitable sales. Mind you, at an average of 3.66 I do not anticipate ever recouping my full investment. Fingers and everything else crossed for all of us.
Any comments?? Sorry folks but I just don't see any new News here. We knew the major Bond-Holders. We knew they were swopping for equity, and we knew that amounted to a rescue. Doesn't change anything to have it expressed this way. Our debt burden is now miniscule. H4 is about to be launched. we have quality products. Quality customers and bouyant demand. A bright future ! What's new ??

Not much interest pre launch. Hopefully interest after launch ??
Old Pa Bear I agree with what you say, especially "The real message is that the company can survive now - it's like a fresh start." However the first paragraph intimates that Avanti have had no say in this. Avanti, as I see it, were in a position, have put a proposition to their lenders and the lenders have accepted it. Of course this insn't click bait but it's a more accurate description. YMMV
Sorry guys, but you've got it wrong - this is a very high level description of where we are & how we got here I have a long position here - read the D4E documentation and you will see it's true. The real message is that the company can survive now - it's like a fresh start. But we are owned by the 3 hedge funds that provided the debt in the past. Some may say they paid a lot to take over the business!
Totally agree, reporting almost down to the standard of the BBC. Hoping for good news next week with lift off for Hylas 4 etc, GLA.
help! https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2018/03/31/us-hedge-fund-rescue-stops-avanti-crash-landing/
Volumes are miniscule. Not worth commenting on.
What you say about the bond holders is of course true. But Ive seen lots of strange things happen on the markets .
