Top US broker sounds a merger alert for Britain’s oil and gas exploration industry 14th June 2016 http://goo.gl/W8k3qs
"Another likely transaction, according to the Citigroup analyst, could be a combination of Premier Oil, down 3 per cent or 2.25p to 73p, and EnQuest, which slipped 4.4 per cent or 1.5p to 32.5p. Although Ophir is well known for its African assets it also has operations in Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia. Soco International rose to the top of the FTSE small cap leaderboard, climbing 6.4 per cent or 8p to 132.25p. Ophir, meanwhile, dipped 1.7 per cent or 1.2p to 71.3p." Any thoughts on this anyone???
would hope it would hold above 70p if not feel it could start to fall back again
CAPE TOWN (Reuters) - Oil and gas explorer Ophir Energy Plc said on Monday it was talking to a range of equity investors, as well as gas buyers to help finance its Fortuna FLNG project in Equatorial Guinea, after Schlumberger walked away. “We've done all the work in a very difficult environment to deliver a very investable project, (including) bringing down the capital costs of first gas by half to what they were 12 months ago, to $450 million, which is huge,” said Bill Higgs, Ophir's chief operating officer.
good volume today,nice rise
Thanks mate. Brain fade didn't see that.
If you look to the left of the page it tells you the amount before the latest transaction, and the number on the right of the page is the amount after !! In this case 78+ million Now 85+ million GLA.
Folks I tend to struggle understanding if groups have increased or decreased thier holdings when RNS stating total holdings are issued. Case in point being Sailing Stone Capital Partners LLC recent RNS saying they had about 12%. Issue being I had no idea what they held beforehand. Is there any resource where percentage of major shareholders can be found, or am I missing something obvious?

Well at the moment going alright, anything could happen, obviously undervalued.
could see 65p again but i can be wrong, ophir will make FID during 4Q 2016 with first gas now forecast for early 2020, with capex requirement of $450 -500 million we need a partners as we got $614 million in bank as of 31 dec 2015 and currently cash burning, trading update out in july and probably see a loss because of low oil price from last 6 months and this is probably why sp drop from £6 to current low, dyor and gla
Cheers Phil, must have got my dates mixed up as had it down as next Wednesday! Not unexpected though really - think only Jimmy Choo had a lower market cap than Ophir when i last checked a week or so back.
Gary, announcement yesterday takes effect on 20th June as I understand it.
Thought the review was next Wednesday unless I've got my dates mixed up? At least gas is doing well this week!
