I would hope that all the money they spent on developing the licences then having to give them up, would be re instated?
Looks good to recover shale as long as it's safe. GL
Asked yesterday, with a reply due in 4 days
“To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, if he will take steps to prevent the implementation of the Oil and Gas Authority's order to concrete shale gas wells at the Preston New Road site in Lancashire.”

Will be interesting to see the reply given the Ukraine situation, and BJ’s express references to security of domestic supply in that respect.
A sad day today, whatever it may mean for IGAS

scratch that idea, someone is already using it :(
perhaps something like EnergyEvolution plc
I don't want to be spending on rebrand. What about IG energy? We could do that with some tipex.
Potential moto -IG - taking the as(s) out of IGAS...?
We can't going on being held to ransom. Especially if we can extract the gas safely.
Letsgetfracked might be a good name with current positive newsflow on the industry again.
What effect would sentiment changing have on igas ?

First suggestion..Iwuzgas
Was thinking as much yesterday.
Would maybe make sense in this current climate . GL
I take it the other company has predrilled holes to depth. Thermal is free i think Iceland is a big user of this type of energy.
Sounds positive!
Not what was expected, but more on the future of where Igas sees itself.

surely the trading update has to drop soon, Monday morning perhaps?
Jamesy, for me, you hit the nail on the head with - 'I see Igas a self funding energy transition play'
Igas have a nice position in the O&G side of life, but plenty going on in the Green future.
With that Green future will also come a lot of government and new funding as well.
Transition. That's were we are.
We would all love to turn off the O&G overnight, but it won't happen. The world is just not ready for it.
If Igas get it right then they might just be able to follow old down and be perfectly placed to slip between the two and ride up with the new.

Yeah Danno, this is looking good - going like a train on very little volume. Could really take off with some positive news. Looks like someone buying in chunks today, although recorded as sales here, it's clear from the spread they are buys.
Pennylots - I see Igas a self funding energy transition play. There are many startups with exciting prospects, but they are too much risk for me as many have little income, could require significant funding and may not turn out to be the answer. Igas's core business is performing fine, and they have done well to reinvent themselves after getting fingers burned in fracking moratorium and straighten up their balance sheet. Lots of scenarios where this could take off and I can't forsee too many where they tank significantly so it's a good hold for me.
High 13's just about a month ago. Now mid - high 18's.
No material company news.
The share price is going nicely the right direction, along with the political mood and the price of oil and gas.
Even if Vladimir puts his oar in, this then becomes more of a stategic play.
I know our numbers are small, but look at Covid.
Who would ever have thought that working on the check outs at the local supermarket would ever become a 'key worker' role??
Chin up.

Finch also refused permission to appeal to the Supreme Court

Bit surprised by the muted action here..UKOG flying off this ruling, which surely benefits all market participants
In 2022, at current oil prices, SP could be trading at 1 x prospective cash flow. Are you serious? What kind of share trades at 1 x cash flow?
Even the mediocre management of IGAS can make good money if oil prices are high enough. That is if they don't waste too much on wonderful save-the-planet schemes or, their speciality, oil collars that lose money.
SP should be double. Every dog has its day.
