Thanks Eric. Good to see all is going well. Hopefully our day is coming! Keeping fingers, toes and everything crossed!!! ATB!
Good to hear from you again Rhumpy. Best wishes.
Yes, proximity. Hmmm. Nowhere near! It's not as if BEM will be hollowing out an evil ore pit under Ms Tuorda's gingerbread cottage. It was notably a low turnout Sooz. Perhaps some have cottoned on to our green operation. Also, jobs galore. Handy combo that. Evie. x
Absolutely right Suzy. There are a few vague mentions about coordinating common defence where it is mutually acceptable- hardly a leap of the imagination when one considers the fact that most EU members are also members of NATO, or are the 7 "non-NATO Member" partners. Other than that, there is no insistence on a common army (although individual states are beginning to make economies by pooling some of their resources into a common alliance, in keeping with the NATO structure. There is creeping federalism, and if it did happen at a pace which is uncomfortable to the existing members, they have the right to veto. In the past, as you mention, there have been opt outs to allow some countries to follow a different path if they so choose. Makes me wonder which side are the true "Project Fear"...
All the best
PS Personally, I'm not against a Federal State, I'd like to see a strong Europe.
Thanks Rhump....also the Treaty makes no mention whatsoever of a Federal State, there is an opt out on currency, no army and Nations can make their own laws on matters not connected with the EU. and nothing about national defence and security policies.
Thanks for the post Andy. I wonder how all these people manage to survive in their worlds which clearly contain no steel, iron, or any other mineral-based product. They are clearly in a fortunate position and should teach us a thing or two. Or perhaps they are just hypocrites, who fail to understand that by banning the "greener" extraction of iron in Sweden, they would be encouraging poorer, dirtier methods in other areas.
Lbjj. Ages ago I promised myself I would refrain from posting here on matters relating to Brexit, but I cannot let pass the fact you are simply quoting Facebook Leave memes whilst not bothering to check your facts. For a start, the "propaganda" leaflet to which you refer was a legal requirement under Provision 7 of the European Union Referendum Act 2015. Secondly, if you ever bothered to check the Lisbon Treaty, you would notice that the date 2021 doesn't even appear in its text. In fact, the latest year mentioned is 2017, and the Treaty already came into force on 1 Jan 2009.
Thanks Eric. Yes, didn't we just. :-) I wonder if that 'mile' has translated correctly (the Tuorda residence) because the Swedish mile is 10 kilometres. They didn't do very well did they, considering there are 2,798 approx people in Jokkmokk.
Thanks Andy. I knew you'd be the one. Lol.
One hundred people today demonstrated against the government's mining policy. Write about the Minor Act and ratify the ILO Convention 169 were two of the messages. There are a number of organizations and action groups behind the demonstration, including the Urbergs group and the youth organizations Fältbiologerna and Sáminuorra. Demonstrators believe that the rights of both nature and people have been eroded by the mining operations in Sweden. Several planned mining projects are also pointed out as threatening to both the environment and human rights, including Gállok outside Jokkmokk, Laver outside Älvsbyn and Rönnbäck outside Tärnaby. -I think it's really bad. I do not understand how people can destroy nature. They have no respect for us who live nearby either. It is really weird, says one of the demonstrators, Astrid Lindstrand Tuorda, who lives a mile from the planned iron ore mine in Gállok, outside Jokkmokk. No comment from Baylan Prior to the demonstration, the organizers have sent a letter to the Minister of Industry, Ibrahim Baylan, including proposals to change the Mineral Act, to demolish the Government's mineral strategy and to ratify the ILO Convention 169 on Indigenous Rights. The demonstrators also propose increased mineral fees, reduced tax subsidies for the mining industry, and better recycling of metals from **** heaps and landfills. Ibrahim Baylan has not wanted to comment on the letter from the mining demonstrators. Having read the treaty you must revisit the propaganda leaflet conjured up by the tories. Unless you do both, you will not be able to properly assess their duplicity.
Afternoon. Andy D F, thank you for the information. The demonstrators have expressed their belief in the validity of BEM’s proposals under current mineral policies law. That’s good! Imo only. atb
Integration implies equality.
Germany calling the shots aided and abetted by France over the other 26 nations is neither integration or equality.
The Germans are not really scared of losing the Uk as a member of the club. What they fear is:
1. The loss of our contribution of 17% of the total EU budget - 100% divided by 28 = 3.5%, by the way.
2. The collapse of the grand plan for a federal state of Europe. One currency, army, Supreme Court etc etc. If one member is seen to make a success of leaving, and we will, then Spain, Italy and even France will come under pressure from their electorate. Potentially game over for the EU.
You have decreed that I'm not allowed to say anything at all until I'd got to the last word on the last page and that might take some time. And expecting me to read a Conservative Party election leaflet is going a bit far.
Ibjj I haven't finished it yet but....I like political integration. It's unrealistic for anyone ever to say....there will be no more of anything. Nobody ever knows what the future holds, do they.

When you have read every word of the Lisbon Treaty, please revisit the referendum leaflet delivered by the Conservative party before the referendum.
Firstly, the £9m this leaflet cost contravenes election spending rules. No action was taken against the Conservative party. Surprise surprise.
The lies in this document are staggering, but significantly start with the bullet points on the first page, and I quote:
“ the U.K. will not be part of further European political integration “
Please take the time to read all of this leaflet. In hindsight, and with the knowledge of what we have signed up to thanks to the Lisbon Treaty, the lies are even more shocking.
Hi Sooz. Yes, they can demonstrate away. I guess if they want to try and stop 'green' progress and job creation in the area, then that's up to them, but I trust the Mayor and many other residents, those especially in need of the work a mining project would secure, will rightly frown upon such proceedings. On we go then. Lol. Thanks for your kindness Sooz. Have a good weekend. x
Thanks Eric, :-)
Anti Mining demonstration in Jokkmokk tomorrow, haven't got a link but wouldn't look in at if I did, don't trust those sites. The going is getting a bit rough, I know, getting close to the edge of the abyss again. Have a nice weekend. x
Sending you another e-hug. Lol. X
Hi Ed. Am doing ok. Up and down really, as you may well have guessed. Kurt has always been positive, logical, meaningful, a top guy indeed, but the continual shying away from dealing with our application by the Swedes, has simply defied any logic. So, I'm afraid it unfortunately hasn't mattered what Kurt has said or may say. If the Swedes continue to fail us once summer arrives, with no update from them by way of a reason, it will boil down to what he actually does next, on the front foot, to take them to task. The time for waiting and words ignored will have passed. Lol. Naturally, I'm trusting that the Swedes will come good, if prioritising our case, but we can only see what actually occurs. It's beyond tiresome really. Have a decent weekend. Best regards.
A draw it is suzy, the benefit of living in a democracy is we can all express our opinions and respect each other whilst voting in a 2nd past the post election 😅hope we have a good week next
Treetop ..Where would we be leaving it.... is that a draw then... 1 : 1 ?
Nighty night All x
My issue about liars is qualification suzy , it has been thrown at Brexit supporters by media and politicians without the detail. The only example that might stick is an amount of money claimed to save and spend on the NHS a figure based on rough guesswork that could be dissected with the power of calculation from a treasury department predisposed to reject. The outsiders campaigning were not allowed the luxury of that significant resource during the referendum campaign. May has lied during the negotiations and been called out for lying by several politicians wuthout contesting it. You can call others liars but I vehemently object to being classified as a liar, ignorant or stupid and such language has poisoned the Brexit debate. I have formed my views over 40 years having supported the EU until Heath admitted lying and looked more deeply into the matter. The suggestion we are all racist is often made and is a repulsive canpaign tool but we have avoided that accusation here.Shall we leave it there ?
Me too, glacial. Especially for his such a wise understanding and foresight what is awaiting to all British people if referendum result ignored and Brexit process stopped by politicians who have lost their honour and conscience.
