PowerChina will. It's all in the RNS 11/3.
Steve good question, I have been pondering on this lately, it's a shame we still don't know who came up with the £0.5m recently
Can someone be so kind and tell me ,who’s actually paying for this mine to be built ? Obviously gcm hasn’t got the almost 1 billion it’s going to cost ? Can someone who may understand the the news paper article and rns put it in black and white . Many thanks
Also to add : Shares of PowerChina [SHA: 601669] finished 1.2 percent lower at CNY4.92 (68 US cents) each today. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index lost 1.3 percent.
People in China would have read this today and traded thier shares today in PC according to this news. Its not something to take lightly for a company of this credibility
To add, (Yicai) does not mention anything about any approvals or waiting for any approvals from the GOB
SB, the RNS you refer to states the funds will be released upon approval
This article clearly states the following: PowerChina, will design and strip Bangladesh's largest coal mine
To me it feels like two different statements
Cheeky barstewards have opened up the spread 8.2 to 9.0 was previously 8.5 to 9.0, anything to make a few more quid. They really are a piece of work.
Looking forward to getting the approval over the line, everything looks to be heading for approval.
Potentially massive returns here.
They already have! It was RNS'd on 11th March. The difference this time is it was in the Chinese press.
What news? The company already confirmed the agreement with the Chinese. This is just a news article about the deal and people clutching straws of translations - 'will' could just be an indication of future possibility in Chinese not a definite as it is in English.
If this news is in public domain then doesn't GCM have a duty to confirm this with their shareholders
You have to really feel for the people of Bangladesh, but this video from June just shows the problems they have and how the people are suffering!!!
"Cash-strapped Bangladesh shut its biggest power plant on Monday. The country was unable to afford the coal to fuel its government-run Payra Power Plant. The 1,320-megawatt power plant in southern Bangladesh had already slashed production last month due to fuel shortages. The move comes at a time when the country is already struggling with a sweltering heatwave that has created surging electricity demand. The country has already been facing long hours of power cuts for weeks now."

The company need to RNS the news. It’s leaked already and people are buying in. When it becomes formal I’m expecting a stampede. There aren’t that many shares available and those buying are tending to hold on. Most of the traders are out over the last two days and hence the drop but the leak has perked this up.
ICB888, hahahaha, i have already done that mate, but thank you for the idea ;)

If you want to get more in your ISA , sell one of your current ISA holdings and buy that back with your new ISA money. It’s probably unlikely any of your other ISA stocks have such good upside potential in the next 10 days as GCM.
More reasons why they need Phulbari to go ahead!!
"During the initial eight months of the current fiscal year, Bangladesh’s expenditure on interest payments for foreign loans surged by 100 per cent, reaching approximately $806 million"

“PowerChina, will design and strip Bangladesh's largest coal mine for about CNY7 billion (USD970 million).”

Pappi, I am very much trying to keep my feet on the ground at the moment, BUT, like you, I do really believe that behind the scenes this is now probably a done deal, hence the MASSIVE volume we have had traded recently ……
To think it was only a few weeks ago we were sat at 1p 😉
Just noticed it's at the top of the article...senior moment :-)
They’re a massive company. This news is just a very small part of their overall business.
On the one I have received there is also a mp3 audio file called Power China Stock Exchange announcement, hopefully it will come through on the below, I actually beiieve this all a done deal now...
