ArielArrow, I take it you are a long term holder? I know the feeling. Although I am not a holder here (but it is on my watch list!) I have gone through the same processes in the past. I think the best thing for CGH to do is.... precisely nothing. They have a great asset (it really is excellent) and it would be best served just sitting on it until the gold bull market really takes off. If it has a NPV of $350m @ $1250/oz, just imagine what the value is at $1500/$1800/$2000 plus. The thing they need to do is stop burning cash and wait for the inevitable bid. It will come. At some point. I just don't know when but I suspect in a somewhat shorter time frame than my retirement.
I wouldn't recommend investing here if you are past a certain age, you probably won't live long enough to get a return on your money.
I'm ignoring these millions traded and reversed, reported today - they add up to zero anyway. Still there has been today 1.6m Aim trades plus 142k on ISDX - way above normal levels. Not able to work out what's going on except looks quite possible a lot of traders got sucked into the volume spike and are now nearly all out again. 5% of the company was traded yesterday by volume - perhaps there will be an explanatory Holdings RNS, but I doubt there is any proper reason for the sudden activity. Big Sell in the background to be reported; Labro (Fasanara) selling; doubt either of these scenarios. Still holding. Got nothing back from Linda since I mentioned to her around 11 am yesterday that the volume was spiking.
I think confirms what I suspected and stated yesterday. A reallocation of positions. Judging by today's drop to more 'normal' levels it merely confirms. A few PI's will've been suckered in no doubt. Pabs - sorry mate but as Fasanara are by far the largest holder they may have a reason to want to reduce or maybe it's the Chinese? All speculation of course. I don't however think it's forward selling of a placement fwiw.
Simple economics. Supply and demand. If demand is there and no supply then the sp should rocket! There must be a supply of stock coming from somewhere, but where? The demand was there all of a sudden yesterday and the SP did not move in relation to what it should have. I am no professional at this but can I ask... Do company's have a reserve of stock somewhere for different reasons or another to release when they feel free? Confused.....
The trading was odd yesterday. There was a large amount of reported buying and yet the share hardly budged after the initial movement. Suggestive of a big trade in the background. As to why they would want to get out, who knows? It may be that they needed cash for another reason and this had been tied up for years. But it must have been a significant amount and possibly still going on now. There are a few candidates that could be selling that volume. You just don't want it to be the directors otherwise that really is a sell signal! I can't believe that it is. A suspicious man would suspect it was orchestrated and that is indeed possible. However, I suspect that it is just one of those situations where an action has been made to take advantage of the situation. I may be being naive on this.
get used to it after all this is aim no rules to speak of
Yesterday saw breakout on all time high volume and today down 15% from yesterday's levels on F all trades. Stinks. Disgusted.
Right - could just be new people buying in now. Another 1M this morning. But WHO are they buying from? And how arre they able to buy such a huge quantity with NO effect on the price? Must be a large ii getting out but have they been waiting there patiently for all these years for Doc Holiday to finally come along and put a bid in for 10M shares? Pretty dumb to seel out at such a low price when news is meant to be imminent? Why? Doesn't make any sense to me.
It was bounced around on Twitter yesterday. Doc Holiday bought some as did a few others and the chatter increased markedly for a while. It looked like the movement upwards attracted either a single large or multiple small sellers. Not uncommon when a share has been in the doldrums for quite a while.
... and not a word from the company. When typcial daily volume is 100K. What is going on?? The silence is deafening.
Agreed. Guessing position transferred to another holder.
Looks like a overhang clearing more than forward selling of any placing do not buy that at all
Strange day indeed Pablo. I'd tend to agree with Dibs about brokers reallocating positions is the most likely explanation for today's activity, but as always, we will be the last to know. Hopefully this level of interest is the precursor to the news we're all waiting for......
I don't know much about the mechanics of the market but these shares must have traded off market between ii and then have been put through the market to formalise. Is that how is works anyone? Simply can't have that many shares trade on normal market with no shareprice movement given that there is usually next to no volume. No doubt RNS to follow. Could be some deal with potential JV partner??
14m traded today including 1m on ISDX - probably the All-time daily high. Perhaps there were some major trades floating around shares between brokers but can't explain everything. 700k traded on Monday was the start of this deluge and then a 2m late reported trade today. What's going on? Someone on Advfn said maybe forward selling of a coming placement, but that isn't in the usual ways of Chaarat. Maybe there has been some big player (then joined by traders) getting a major stake? That then triggered a bit of moving around stock by brokers? Maybe there is a big seller, but there seems to be big demand too. Maybe an RNS tomorrow - Holdings or something that might explain today. Unbelievable volume yet next to no sp movement.
Brokers doing a good job of reallocating positions? As said previously pre-agreed trade prices being executed in an orderly fashion. Otherwise, on this volume, there would've been substantial movement up or down.
Don't start saying rude things on here. If they are going to dump their 25% Holding we'll all be crying.
Fasanara?
Think that starts to explain a few possibilities. The Trade looks like a Sell @ 7p at 9:59 am when the spread was 7.2 - 7.25. So, suddenly there was 2.5m put on the market @ 7p at 9:59 this morning. By whom? Anyway, late surge of trading now - Total Volume today so far is 10.6m on Aim and 1m on ISDX. Possibly an all time record? Probably not.
Just shown up!?
trader interest today. Whoever was buying straight from the bell never gave up until about 10:31 and then they'd trousered 5m. Then people got to notice and traders were pouring in for a while and then quite a lot got out again. Will we hear anything or will this day just go down as the largest day for 12 months(or more) and quickly be forgotten? Time will tell.
Reckon it's a good sign that there is interest, that something is afoot, that suddenly 7m shares can trade. Just a good omen as to what might happen when we have some really good news to celebrate. Still reckon there was over 6m Buys to less than 1m Sells.
is it not time we had an update
Very strange SP movement based on the mornings trading. If nothing else, at least we have a tight spread now.
