Couple of buy recommendations....but not a tickle.
LED lights are still a gimmick at the moment, the heads used are light heads used in warehousing - further R & D is need by Towerlight which i have heard is on the cards. Still a good product line in my eyes and i know Speedy do well from this line, the MSC has about 200 units all out on hire.
Elliotts are in absolute turmoil, and the cabin bsuiness for Speedy was a disaster. Speedy made multiple acquistions in the cabin sector not that many years before they sold out, when you look at the whole picture Speedy have lost millions in cabins! Elliotts inherited all of that mess with over 1000 welfare units broken down, mainly the generator side of the units.
This is all set up for tomorrow IMO. Good luck Mr Bluesky
BDEV results due on Wednesday,,, Barretts is doing well with housing developments and almost debit free company. Expecting a good results and a potential of quick rise. Do your Research now. Act early if interested.,,,,
Investec Securities new price target of 100 pence
I don't know where you got your info on regarding the cabins, but I can assure you that it was not the solid, money making business that you describe. The reality is that the cabin business was poor for the reputation of Speedy and lost money every month. Having looked through your post again I must ask, why do you feel the need to use an investors forum to air your frustration with the company that used to employ you? Get over it, move on and enjoy life - you will be a lot less bitter for it.
Last year this time the revenue was 2% more and the share price is around 38p, now with the less less revenues the price is around 65p, If speedy offer the same dividend ( I doubt) its nearly the half of the yield to last year. Where this heading,, no director buys,,,,, I would expect this to slide down more before it recovers, I know we need some changes,, But the changes made never helped out for this company,,, the good money making solid cabin business was sold to ellitte and they are doing very well now, The management is keep selling things to improve their balance sheet,,,,, Now very healthy. Expect the revenues to fall further. Buy with the rumour and sell with the facts,,,,,,,,,,
Gaz - Not bad utz - except it's only for half the year. Probably amounts to 55% with much lower rates out of season and pretty near to the bottom of ROI performance. Also the market is on the change for that product with LED light towers being manufactured. I still think good decision to get rid. One thing I would say Speedy are very good at is spotting trends in the industry.
I agree Be Honest, sometimes a business needs to change to allow it to grow and a prudent business will always change. Clearly fresh bloody breathes new ideas. Agree with the top up bigger and better to come
Clearly done your homework - most of the names you mention, I understand, were responsible for sales performance - kind of stands to reason that they've been moved on. Time to top up, I think.

Well now DG has gone, GT has walked and AT has gone to A-Plant. Who is next i wonder, no one of any substance left. Go through the list: Mark Whitworth, Andrew Simpson, Greg Wood, Gary Thompson, David Graham, Neil O'Brien to name just a few senior figure heads who were very influential people in the busines. Speedy have had their day, since buying Hewden and closing down the specilaist business units to consolidate they have gone backwards. Speedy Lifting is turning over 50% less that 5 years ago..............
You would sell towerlights that could not be utilised in you hire fleet due to age and major repairs, you would get a better residual than you would out of season.
Will, the hire sector touched over 90% utilisation every winter on towerlights at very good rates!
Well,,,,, The International business is good,,,The 5 Million a year contract with the national grid is also good, But its all already there, At least 6 months ago we talked about the National Grid contract, why still keep talking about these again and again,,,, Because nothing new have come up,,,,,,,,,, The core sector is UK construction and infrastructure,,,,,,,,,,,,, Where is the improvement with the market? There is a lot of construction works going on now, Thames Water projects AMP5, AMP6, road projects, cross rail PROJECTS, HS2, and a massive house building works,,,,,,,, I am not talking about the profit, but the revenues? How this could fall? Where is the mistake? The market is not tough or challenging anymore,,,,,,, I never understand what is the management expectation?,,,,,
Spot on. Management are roughly where they wanted to be given the challenges domestically. Expansion of its business out in the middle east, especially KSA, is great news.
Results seem ok to me, and honest position from the company. Market is still tough and although house building has started to get busy again, I never had Speedy down as a dominant provider to that sector. It's not as though they provide building materials or roofing products.
everything is in line with expectations wasn't it?
The fact he was posting about the UK and Speedys performance in that market might suggest why he didn't mention overseas.
maybe you missed the overseas growth or chose to ignore it
All the construction sector and businesses are improving in the UK except Speedy. Another Drop in sale announced compare to last year,,,,,,,,, Can't see why? All the house prices gone up, lots of construction ever before, still drop in sales here why?????????Can't believe,, '' Q2 revenue decreased by only 1.6%, mitigating the overall fall for H1 to 2.1%. ''
It would be good to get near that 85p mark for sure
Investec Securities - new target price of 85p
It is now a case of how the market reads this! Will we get a rise or a retreat which of course we don't want
