Morning Bannor...You couldn't be remiss or rude if you tried. 😊
Morning All.
Already havw exploitation license
Just wonder if somebody could get me up to speed please.
I presume this extended land permit is purely exploration and nothing to do with exploitation?
As regards the latter has the government given any time line given the Sámi appeal?

sorry, the link does not seem to work, so this is what it says in swedish.
"mitt under pågående rättstvist har jokkmokk iron mines ansökt om att utvidga gruvområdet i kallak.
från cirka 100 till 500 hektar.
ansökan får skarp kritik från samebyar i området.
– det känns som ett **** i ansiktet, att vi ska inte tro att detta någonsin tar ****. att det är taktik från företaget för att trötta ut samebyn, säger lisa länta, advokat och företrädare för jåhkågasska tjiellde sameby."
from tv4 sweden!
tv4 says that the new application from beowulf mining is about 400 mor hectares! so, 500 hectares al and al. ;)
https://www.tv4.se/artikel/71gleiricq9kxu8fhohwhf/vill-utvidga-gruvomradet-i-kallak-med-400-hektar-****-i-ansiktet
Saying that, Beowulf has to be able to afford to get them out of the ground.. and there potentially is a problem..
If minerals are found between KN and KS and the the "new" land and it is all connected it would be absolutely huge.... Fingers crossed...
Thank you Wodman...that's a lot more.
Bergsstaten has approved an extended permit for BEM to drill in Jokkmokk, not a prolonged permit! This means that the company now can drill over four hundred hectares of land, and not only over one hundred hectares as in the previous permit.
Hello Eric...Yes, I wouldn't want to appear dumb would I but where will we get the money from. Lol.
We will hopefully get confirmation by BEM if it’s a straight renewal or includes the existing and additional land perhaps.
It’s a positive move anyway and a necessary one.
Yes Sooz. It could be an extended area, or the same that we already have the existing permit for, which coincides with what Röstin mentioned. Either way, it’s another three years of drilling we could undertake in the particular area, which on FB they are saying is the area between KN and KS. Were we to drill, we could perhaps at long last prove the two sites are joined at depth.
Whichever way it’s good news and Bergsstaten has had the final say, which is in our favour.
Glad about it.
The way I'm reading that is it means extended time not extended land...ie the renewal of a previously held permit.
The extended area is also mentioned on Sverige Radio:
https://sverigesradio.se/artikel/bergsstaten-sager-ja-till-fortsatt-borrning-i-kallak
And this is the translation of that text via Google:
“Bergsstaten has agreed to an extended exploration permit in the Kallak area. That's what Norrmedia writes.
The municipality of Jokkmokk and the Sami Parliament, as reference bodies, have answered no, but the Norwegian State says yes and thus gives Jokkmokk Iron Mines permission to continue drilling for ore for another three years.
The permit is valid from and 26 October 2023.”
Thanks Roller. Sounds good then to me. Can’t be long left until we find out more news from Kal eh? 🤔
That's the one Eric..thanks mate.
Yes Eric if you look someone put up for me the original news post from yesterday about it...
Sorry, LSE wouldn’t let me post the link. It was from the Swedish Facebook Group page and referred to a news article from nsd.se. re approval by Bergsstaten of our exploration permit for the area between KN and KS. As far as I am aware from FB.
https://********************1063502297056466/
hopefully that will show the screenshot from nsd.se
But there is an interesting point...the Bergsstaten can refuse an application for renewal of a licence if it can't be shown that the Company has taken measures to conduct work to further the exploration during the period they held the licence previously.
Isn't it just the renewal of an existing licence, work on going?
