we are pretty much saying the same thing - "eventually most people will buy from shops", my beef with tweed is partly due to the 'oregano' they tried to pass off as medical cannabis, shoddy stuff from the biggest, its a fact, not saying its evil, but it lobbying the gov to then sell ****e to a market you have just forced into a monopoly is not good, sorry you dont like that point, but the courts agreed.....
good stuff, i loked at mcig, waiting a bit on that one, keep em coming ;)
I think ultimately there has to be some quality standards / regulation put in place - like you do for food crops. A lot of people eat cannabis so its a food crop. Alcohol comes under food standards as well. There has to be some clear regulation - its can't be regulation free. As I have mentioned on here before I think there should be some clear limits on the THC levels available. I think a % of people will always want to grow their own. Its its legal more people will grow less intensively in their own glasshouses and have 1-2 plants for their own consumption. Environmentally this will be much better than the current intensive illegal production - inside under HPS lighting - very inefficient and very high costs in terms of lighting. Holland allows this 1-2 plants legally. I have been in big commercial glasshouses in Holland and spotted two cannabis plants in the corner of the greenhouses. As it is for fruit and veg some people like to know where their plants come from and how they are grown i.e organic. As for availability of varieties I'm sure the Dutch will start a trade in vegetative strains rather than just seeds if cannabis ever becomes legal. This will be a big market for a specialist plant propagator - there are already mail order plant companies. There is no doubt that big growers, where it is legal, will become very proficient in growing cannabis and they will make production cheaper and cheaper. Whether that productivity and cheaper production is passed onto the consumer is a big question. From what I've seen in the US the growers - big or small are making a total **** load of money. Prices should be way below what they are. So to say its 'big' pharma that will rip of the consumer is crap. In the States the small growers and pharmacies are doing a damm fine job of ripping of the public. Once big growers get involved with a more commercial production methods then cost of production will plummet and with competition the quality will get better and better. the small growers are inefficient but are completely ripping off the consumers - the big boys will help to improve efficiencies and reduce prices. But there will always be room for small specialist growers. Look at Chelsea Flower show - all those small plant producers supply via mail order or from their nurseries - hardly any are big scale but they are very specialist (big or usual varieties) and supply the specialist gardener. I think it will be the same for cannabis.
MCIG (accessories) PHOT (growlites I think ) TRTC . Aurora, Mettrum (production ) to get the ball rolling all penny stocks atm though (OTC). More please . . . .
Broadly speaking agree K/S. However the old conundrum: would you bother growing your own tomatoes, if organic cherry toms are available and nearby ? Secondly could you grow your own tomatoes ? You may have to learn a lot, decent seed, strain etc. It's not that easy . . . .not to mention pests such as the dreaded SAS mite, fungus gnats etc etc and time. Expensive project ! And yes heard about Tweed's initial debacle, also Bedrocan had their naysayers to begin (no doubt still do ) , can't be bothered to watch any more stoned arse'ole's telling me how bad/evil the frontrunners are . . . IMO these sorts make a life full of complaining, put downs and negativity . . . And as I've said could they honestly do any better. Yes indeed King 'profit comes before quality for big business' Isn't that where us lot come in too ?
right guys and gals, what investing ideas do you have to capitalise on the new cannabis future/ home grow equipment? real estate? venture capitalists? chemicals ? (farmapharma is this why you invest in potash?) lab analysis? water, electricity ? smoking / vaping paraphernalia? all ideas / suggestions welcome!!!
it is all just a battle to ensure ensure the big players can grab the market share, there are no reasons why cannabis should be sold in a more restricted way than alcohol, if it is for truly medical products like gw products then of course this should be dispensed by pharmacies. "This means delivering a clear message that you would comply with whatever regulatory restrictions would be placed upon you" great, but way over the top as the people that rub shoulders with the powers that be have huge deep pockets and regulations are put in place to provide a competitive advantage to big players as they are the only ones that can afford to comply with over the top regulatory burdens, it is a cynical ploy, and one that i have a great deal of experience with in my own profession. there has to be some regulation when selling commercially, but there are no good reasons to think that tweed (CGC) etc can be the only ones to do so safely, and responsibly. when tweed started they sold chopped up full plant, it was a joke, they had no idea at all, soon changed of course, but the fact they put out that sh*te in the first place shows that profit comes before quality for big business, the artisan producers sell the product that people actually want... no reason at all to ban home grows other than to protect such companies as tweed, it is corrupt and will not work. this is what will happen... regulations will be introduced that favour bigger companies, however due to huge political pressure the gov will also allow smaller companies to survive, those that refuse point blank to comply with reasonably fair regulations will slowly disappear due to a small number of enforcements sending a signal that regulations are there to protect the public, ignore them at your peril. home grows will flourish initially, but as the market expands, and products get cheaper most people will buy from shops, just like alcohol. quality and or price will become the driving factor, and tweed etc will have to compete on that basis, not just a monopolised trapped market as is the case now ( in theory) tweed will never have the market all to themselves, no matter how hard they lobby the gov, sorry but been there done that, the little guy does have a voice, and will find politicians that support them, as long as they agree to comply with reasonable red tape, we are talking about a substance that is safer than many products already available, common sense will prevail eventually. "a free market should be the goal" - Jodie Joanna Giesz-Ramsay Canadian Politician, wife of Mark Emery and weed activist. Colorado have it right imo.

... reduced their short slightly from 0.71% down to 0.68% on newsday Monday, but have since increased the short again up to 0.83% on Wednesday (according to today's FCA update). I suspect that over the past couple of days they've been increasing it further.. They'll be churning this like crazy, selling, dropping the price, buying back, re-selling, over and over, skimming profit all the time using the hf trading. All IMHO of course.
maybe, but he pretty much controls GW's pump and dumps... volume has dropped off, and I guess we had the uptick rule in play today as we dropped over 10% on nasdq yesterday, so no heavy shorting, tomorrow could well be different, but as always, we will have to wait and see.
Cramer is full of crap
well, cramer thinks it will pull back more yet..... GW Pharmaceuticals (GWPH) : "That stock is up too much. Let it come in." http://www.thestreet.com/story/13435520/1/mad-money-lightning-round-step-into-skechers-long-term.html?puc=stocktwits&cm_ven=STOCKTWITS&utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=stocktwits
Possible, however I will close mine today. I was looking for 100 and three days on there we are. On the other hand I might keep a bit to see if £3 will be touched by Jun. I'm more negative on, short-mid term future sp here , but another outburst of irrational enthusiasm could take sp in opposite direction.
yeah i agree, though at worst the shorts could try and get down to its 100dma of 362 ish, could depend on the markets and the reaction to the feds 'two more rate hikes this year' comment.
It's possible like most things that this price will sit in its 4 pounds lower and mid until further updates.
very true! and of course hospitals give patients thc vapes in the US, and peeps also use edibles!
Ever since Hary J Anslinger it has been tradition the head of the DEA has to be ignorant prejudice and a lackey for corporate interest. And who ever heard of smoking the leaf anyway.
the DEA hate pot, they think its as dangerous as heroin....cos they make money from prohibition.
Strange comments as canabis is now legally sold in quite a number of US States. GW is the only company allowed to grow it in the UK and already has the original drug for alleviation of MS approved In many countries.
420.75......as predicted ;)
So, GWP have made history, it is no joke! the DEA are running out of excuses.. http://time.com/4101340/dea-medical-marijuana-joke/
yeah, my fingers type faster than my brain works ;)
Ok I'll leave you all in peace now, looking and hoping for some lively conversation and predictions today . . . . ! !
I have to use it all the time mate . . . . ;)
