No Suzy that is not correct. If the government is waiting for UNESCO then so are we. So why did Kurt say UNESCO is not an issue when it seems everybody believes they are. They are an issue if only to answer the question which is put to them.
Suzy, dont be an a**e, this is a discussion. If you don't wish to answer, don't, if you wish to discuss, be civil.
Read my lips Wotitsworth...we are waiting for the Government and the Government is waiting for UNESCO and nothing to do with this decision will happen until UNESCO has responded to their question and they have digested that response. What happens then is anybody's guess. Got it?
If Kurt is getting tired of the e mails then perhaps he could just communicate to the shareholders and then they wouldn't have to e mail questions. I know that we have our own opinions, but genuinely, is there anyone here who knows if we are waiting on the government or waiting for UNESCO to reply to the government. Seems like it should be an easy question for Kurt, so to brush it off I don't believe is satisfactory.
TSP... We LTHs took a bit of trouble the other day to explain what 'out of the way' means... Kurt's recent update was clear and detailed and I'd suggest it would pay you to read through it carefully a few more times because you've asked questions on here that have there answers in there. Your impatience will not make this happen any quicker...nothing will happen on the Kallak front until that response is with the Government and that could take a while. We'll know when it arrives I think because such things are public documents in Sweden, at least the fact if not the contents.
One question i asked in a polite civil way was
Could Kurt clarify what he meant by saying Unesco was out the way. He replied in a very Kurt manner that he has made a update to the market and has nothing further to add?
I mean cmon he at the least could have said more since it was public knowledge. At least clarify that statement it was a cop out imo
If I could hazard a guess...it wasn't out of the way was it? I thought we'd done that. Lol.
He must be.
Maybe it's just your emails he's getting tired of TSP.
Someone has made a trade.....Is that allowed !!!!!
hahahaha
As CEO I cant imagine him not being committed but cant help but think there is more to do than just wait. At the end of the day a decision is probably of more benefit to him than us, but we still ask if he is doing what is required..
Yes, disaster seems to be following me with this and BPC........Cineworld looking better but that's the one I don't have much in. Typical.........
Oh well, who knows, tomorrow BPC announce a huge strike and Baylan gives the go ahead.......then the world would be a better place hahaha
Wot just out of interest I have regular discussion with Kurt via email he never gives any info, but recently quite the opposite when I quizzed him on wording it clearly touched a nerve........... Kurt knows much more than he ever would dream of letting on.
He knows the immense political struggle regards Kallak personally feel he is getting tired of it all like the rest of us
Haha yes mate............ turning into the a nightmare BPC I sense feels like a dust coming there but wouldnt dream of mentioning it.
BEM looking like a lame dog with another year delay
Looks like only you and me here TSP. Fancy a beer hahaha
agreed Wot:
"Come on Kurt, give us a heads up. Your last interview suggested the UNESCO issue was a done deal, if that is true, tell us officially by RNS, is this back in Baylans court?"
Good info, thanks Suzy
I absolutely agree regarding the UNESCO decision, we cannot influence but at least find out if it has been made an communicated to the government. UNESCO is another organisation that does not rely on a high level of operating efficiency so as I believe has been mentioned before, do they even know this is important?
Come on Kurt, give us a heads up. Your last interview suggested the UNESCO issue was a done deal, if that is true, tell us officially by RNS, is this back in Baylans court?
Suzy, after all this time, you really think BEM should wait another year.
I seriously hope not.
Yes Sooz. We must hope that.
Swedish winklers, lol, I ain't come across one of those yet, but they would be most welcome.
:-)
One of the Swedish shareholders will manage to winkle it out.
I just hope that UNESCO will be regarding Truth as an Outstanding Universal Value. ;-)
He could do that 3card, just so we don't rely on the Government to tell us, because it may not occur d'reckly. Lol. We are usually the last to find anything out.
Hi Treetop. Everyone in Sweden by now surely knows the situation with Kallak and the Government's total display of inertia over it, but a very good point you make about the dirty mining from elsewhere. We now have Linda M on the case and the KU painting a bad picture for the Government though, so that may well be enough to bring about change. What we surely don't want, is to bludgeon the Government, via the courts, into giving us a concession licence, because I believe it would then be untenable for us to work in Sweden.
Only my thoughts, but Kurt can continue to apply the squeeze for a decision calmly and cleverly. By allowing the UNESCO referral, without doing his nut, he has let the Government back itself into a corner. The case for the Government's lack of giving a decision now further diminishes once UNESCO has contributed. Nobody left to hide behind. Or is there? Lol.
Surely the simplest way to move this forward would be for kurt to either phone or email someone in the know at UNESCO to see if they have responded to Baylan's request. Obviously they won't reveal any info regarding the details but at least a confirmation of a response would enable us and local politicians to put more pressure on the government.
I understand your hesitation about legal action Eric but that should still allow a more aggressive media campaign to highlight the hypocrisy of letting dirty mining elsewhere account for their new-age needs. This has to be channeled through MPs who have a voice in Parliament lobbying anyone that can threaten to dislodge this current administration.
Hmm. That's the thing. If we know the referral to UNESCO was unnecessary, then Baylan and co will know it to be unnecessary. Yes, it seems the Greens have the sway and this latest manoeuvre was perhaps done just to accommodate them, obviously delaying the decision further. Of course, if UNESCO says our little mine will not affect Lap or its status, then the Government has this info to share with the Green Party. Ooh, what would it do then, to delay a decision? The problem is, in spite of Baylan knowing a good while back that Kurt met with our legal team and talked of legal action being a consideration, our application still has not then been dealt with and moved along at all, until the KU findings prompted the passing of it to UNESCO. We have been told on a number of occasions that a decision for us was being prepared, when in actual fact, the KU finding this not to be the case, insofar as there has not been any administrative process in place for at least three years, to deal with our application.
We've been fobbed off with what has been fudge, the lack of any checks by Baylan to see if a decision was actually being prepared, our case moved along. That's perhaps being rather kind to him as well.
A leopard cannot change its spots it seems, Baylo is a poor performer but a pretty good politician, lol, so I suggest Kurt must keep on top of this latest deviation from the process. I feel he needs to find out from UNESCO when it will be giving comments back to the Government, so that we know then just when the Government will begin its next phase of sitting on our application. We should be in a position even now, considering the KU findings, to demand an outcome within a timescale from the Government, because we are heading towards eight years without a decision. So Kurt surely can't and won't let matters lie once UNESCO has passed it back to the duff brigade, in spite of any potential starry-eyed Kosovo distraction. Distract me not!
Whether to take legal action is still very much a tricky issue. Taking action is one which I don't support at present, because with the implementation of that, the applecart then becomes completely overturned, and it could mean us never seeing Kallak mined, which would be a terrible pity. A travesty. More so for the locals who need the jobs. While there is still the chance of a mine, the nuclear option must be shelved. In my opinion.
So it's all a bit balancy balancy on a wobbly high wire. Lol. Luckily we still have the steadying pole. No legal action today then thank you, we will stick with the pole and trust that we can get across to the other side as we are. Then look back fondly at our journey when we are safe.
In my humble.
Then we can raise the wire.
Howl.
