Wonder how exposed RBS are?
Question Time this Thursday is worth an eyeball. There is clearly an ongoing historical case still to be addressed and answered honestly. Phantom shares and consequently, perhaps even more meat on the bone, but who held the bone and was screwing shareholders ? I cant wait for a resolution to the historical issues, the reinstatement of a dividend and sale of the Gov stake.
This is Money MoS investigation prompts call for RBS action group probe over 'phantom shares' Read more: http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/news/article-5266449/Demand-probe-RBS-Shareholders-Action-Group.html#ixzz54AOigwFs http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/news/article-5266449/Demand-probe-RBS-Shareholders-Action-Group.html
Will be on BBC question time this coming Thursday 22.30 ish
Of the big banks are looking good for the imeadeate future. Did well trading this over the last few years. Some rises were followed by 5% drops making in easy to get in and out. I wonder how much more this can rise this time? Long may it continue. GLA
300p is a round number which the market likes. However, it was also resistance in 2014 and 2015. RBS is bullish at the moment, but there could be a few tests of 300 first before it breaks though. It's also getting much closer to its 200 EMA, which is 305p, so that represents another barrier for it to break. It can only do this with good fundamental performance.
GOOD TO SEE 300+ IT'S BEEN TRYING FOR SO LONG....... WELL LET'S SEE WHAT THE RESULTS BRING THIS YEAR SHOULD BE A GOOD YEAR FOR RBS LET'S GET THIS DOJ CASE PAYED OFF LET'S GET THE DIVI BROUGHT BACK LET'S GET THE GOV OF OUR BACK Yes we may get a little pull back along the way as the markets pull back every now and then, but overall we should move higher as we near results.....
Moving up nicely, let’s hope FEB brings Divi news.
Looks like it will go upward this time after only the second attempt. It broke 270 resistance in September last year, pulled back and is now on its way upward. GLA and DYOR
Jreid1611 This is more to do with Broker Upgrade Shares in Royal Bank of Scotland led the banking sector, up 3.4 percent after broker Morgan Stanley upgraded its rating on the stock to "overweight". Morgan Stanley said that RBS offered the most resilience in an uncertain outlook. Shares in peers HSBC and Standard Chartered also gained more than 2 percent.
Any ideas why particularly good morning for RBS and HSBC?
Happy New Year to all invested in RBS... Hope this year is the year Was a bit disappointed from the last attempt to crack the 290+ level maybe this time we may do it fingers crossed

Move On
Received an update from Signature today. Depressing reading as a whole host of issues, 90 million phantom shares and funding difficulties mean the payout is disappearing before my eyes. If they go to court to defend some of claims on payout it could take years to resolve. Just as well I was not planning on having money for Xmas.
No. Unfortunately not. She did say there was still some work to do but wasn't specific about times.
Hi. Did they mention when they are likely to be in a position to pay the compensation to the shareholders who were not late in signing up?
Just to let anyone interested know, if you were a late applicant to the action group you are definitely not included in any settlement. Thought I'm not sure the settlement sounds like much anyway...and they are still fighting over semantics. You will, however, be refunded your application money. I called them today and they said I was getting my initial £300 back with no reduction for admin fees etc. Happy Christmas!
payment? About time we got that settled ind get some divvies here. Come on McEwan, get a move on like when you sent 15000 jobs down th broadband to India.

Oops seems they're out today and all Banks passed. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-42148682 Barely a ripple in the market - maybe not a peak / trough - more like a damp squib!
I seem to recall reading somewhere that the BoE stress tests were to be published this week and RBS wasn't expected to do well in them. Anyone know when they're due? Could be the next peak / trough. Maybe one for the brave!!
