Old Baylo should be in a tight spot, but I'm not sure that he is. What's to prevent more can kicking now that UNESCO has commented? I don't feel we can rule that out, in spite of the need for Baylo and Stef to perform, all things considered. They haven't performed and yet have got back in. Lol.
Atb.
Evening.. Well Eric, nothing else seems to fit the Kallak debacle, imo..
Moving on, what will the ministry now decide to do with UNESCO’s comments in respect of any grant of award, in its entirety? Baylan knows what KB’s view is re UNESCO! No ambiguity there! We have a wounded Government, and the minister has a number of CEO’s/opposition MP’s on his case over his failings.. The politics have changed here, and this man needs a mining result without any challenges.. Someone has to give a little! “Concession first” lol Imo only.. atb……
Interesting. Aye, and we've been used and continue to be used as a pawn in their game. It seems that the Government is pro-Sami, if only because it is frightened of its own shadow in that respect, eggshell treading, so the result we see is that of hidden policy, lol, being actually against new industry and enterprise, green or otherwise, in spite of what is said in conferences and so on. This when there remains the real need for jobs in a decimated area. I find it all totally bizarre Aug. The cost of Government dalliance in their own permitting process being borne by the good people of Jokkmokk, and of course, by us.
Kurt has been unable to find a way around the problem, it seems, though he is no doubt involved more than we are aware, but the kettle can't continue to boil here indefinitely without shareholders needing a drink.
We are parched bruv. Lol.
A couple of extracts from the latest EU climate change waffle, followed, no doubt by individual government responses.
If this latest diktat comes to fruition, Sweden has two options, either pay the carbon border tariff, or for example, cultivate homegrown clean iron ore extraction.
The European Union is set to take the lead in climate policy action among the world’s biggest greenhouse gas emitters this week.
“Everybody has a target. But translating it into policies that lead to real emission reductions, that’s the most difficult part,”
Brussels will also unveil the details of its world-first carbon border tariff, targeting imports of goods produced abroad with high emissions such as steel and cement. That has unnerved EU trading partners, including Russia and China.
Policymakers are also braced for a storm of industry lobbying. Europe’s steel and cement sectors are already fighting plans to end free CO2 permits and force manufacturers to pay more when they pollute.
Wonder if the Swedish greens support it?

Evening.. Eric, imo,I have always believed (right or wrong)that the delays were a negotiation tactic, re some Government ideal for N Kallak - Not necessarily a sale to LKAB, for example.. I will never buy into the assertion that the Greens have stalled on this, over any genuine concerns for the Environment/other.. They, imo will not be calling the shots re Kallak..
So, with the above big politics in play, and the fact that minister Baylan took the unusual step with the referral to UNESCO, (years after the MI’s recommendation) which was, and still is, not without political risk, Lofven would have given the green light on that, and he wouldn’t do that without backing Baylan on all other.. In short, this Government has not been pro – mining, and it needs to be turned around quickly, and Baylan has already covered a lot of ground in hard - talk with all stakeholders, much of which not recorded - ( KU report).. In my opinion only.. atb…
Aug, yes, why is he still holding down the job?
Not sure.
Yet Lofven considers hm to be a senior minister hahaha
Evening.. KallakRidiculous, No need for the further involvement of lawyers at this time,imo.. We are in a political arena re Kallak, and minister Baylan needs to deliver result(s) sharpish, for the Country - PM/party.. Given the very recent events, I should imagine that Baylan’s innovation around the cabinet table is about as welcome as a fxxt in a spacesuit.. The PM cannot go into the next election with a key minister who has proved to date to be so ineffective re employment etc, without further political cost! Lofven, has to deliver now!
Baylan has been a political liability for the government/ party (KU, Frazer,CEO’s) and yet, he wasn’t made to clear his desk this week - Why not? “Concession first”.. Imo only atb…………………….
Who were you KallakRidiculous, before you thought Kallak was ridiculous?
This company needs fresh blood! Budge had had his chance and has failed miserably!
When Budge wants funds for Kosovo etc, he spends more than £1million on getting it!!!!!!!!!
Then, instead of concentrating on getting a lawyer involved in this ridiculous saga, he doesn't bother!
I, as an extremely frustrated investor, know that Kallak is the be-all and end-all of this company, and this has always been the case since my involvement more than a DECADE ago!
Does any like-minded investor know how the removal process works? Is it merely a matter of a vote of no confidence?
Lets hope Suzy. And as said, lets hope we get back in quick with some difficult questions
hahahahaha
That sounds promising Sooz. Surely we can't carry on in limbo forever. Not with the law in our favour and the KU report. Plus, the fact that Baylo didn't put a time limit on UNESCO for its input. Naughty that.
The Government already looks suspect. Lol.
IMO.
No, Wots...he can't do that, Loof wants the beaches. If it's only the Right who are batting for the mines, we're in trouble but the Social Democrats in the Riksdag debate indicated that they do want mines.
KB to Lovfen. "So when can I expect a decision on the concession as you promised?"
Lofven to KB. "Sorry but you misunderstand. That was the previous government. We are not bound by any promises they may have made to you."
More waffle from one of the most experienced ministers...at doing chuff all. The last thing we want is the dope to be distracted from doing his other job. FFS.
One thing is for sure, he's hardly being hard pressed by Kurt ...
Maybe he will apply his skills of ding nothing and deciding nothing to rural affairs
So maybe he will barter with the green party. Give them the beaches and approve the mine?
Maybe the opposite.
He is capable of f----- all as he has proved so often.
Hi Eric...This is the latest comment from The Minister:
"Everything I talk about has a large number of conflicts of interest, but we are capable of resolving them, he says."

Thanks Rabulisten.
Afty aft. x
Hi Sooz. I feel Kurt will still have to press more for any decision from the Government, even though the UNESCO comments are in. He shouldn't leave it a minute longer now that we know that the Government set-up will be similar, if not the same as before the vote of no confidence in Stef.
Only my thoughts.
Afty. x
Fingers crossed Suzy. They must be running out of excuses. I guess that's why they just don't answer
Morning Eric....As you say we're back on track again and it could have been worse, a caretaker government like last time. They've got three month I think until the Autumn Budget which could be the next crisis...will it be the three months in which they make this decision and get themselves back some of the support that's rapidly going down the pan.
what is that sung we are on a road to no were?
