I'm afraid your post makes no sense at all. I thought I had fully explained away the role of a MM previously, but given your post, I obviously didn't do a very good job. I'm not certain that I can explain it in a way that you will understand. Sorry!
I thought they bought and sold to investors not bought and sold shares themselves if you know what i mean. Can they buy PEG shares at 11.50 and then sell them back to themselves for 11.75. Sounds daft i know.
graham, that is exactly what they do. Pardon me if I sound incredulous, but what do you think a market-maker actually does!
Are market makers allowed to trade shares? Didn't they buy at 11.50 and are they now selling at 11.75 I wonder?
Can buy at 11.90 and sell at 11.75 so assume the latest 11.75 is a sell.
The current price is 11.75-12, so one would assume that the trades at 11.75 are sales.
Are they sells, follow the price back to 11.50 and the price has stayed the same ever since in fact if they are sells they are gradually paying more?
...and still they sell. Peel seem to be absorbing the sellers, and must be close to going over the next threshold, unless they are throwing a swerve ball by turning round stock for no turn (100k trade?)
Wonder when we will get the final results.Last year was March and that looked the earliest it had been for sometime
Thanks for that. A thought provoking sumary.
Anyone?
It's a scam. They pick up old share registers and cold call people. I've had a couple on from my Henderson Morley holding, which went bump years ago. I like to keep them talking, before I ask them if they are proud of the job they do. Record so far is 22 minutes!
The caller said she was from Avanti or Avante. Said she was calling from USA. She asked me sell my shares and pledge them to her client. Phone number withheld. My first reaction is that it is a scam. She didn't ask for bank details. Just an email address so she can send info. I've such a paltry amount of shares, it wasn't even worth the call.
Would you mind posting the link, cheers
Excellent new thread on ADVFN which is well worth a visit.
In two days
.
Hi, whatwasthenumber you recieved thecall from ? Will call it tosee who they are .
I would have told them I'm the king of Nigeria and I have been waiting for this call. Please transfer £100,000 of your English money into my bank account first, as this payment will pay for the release fee of the aforementioned shares. Once payment has cleared, your shares will be in the post. Thanks
Donald Duck here don't suppose your interested in selling your Mickey Mouse shares by any chance.
Yet another phone call last night asking me to sell my Petards shares. Caller said it was part of a hostile takeover. Sounds like a scam. However, no one calls about my other mickey mouse shares.
That's probably very much the same scenario as mine.
Morning. Yeah sorry loan notes. Was thinking more of a merger as opposed to asset sale. There must be cost savings for both companies and whilst they do supply cctv for trains C21 have bus companies on board. My thinking was sell off the APNR and MOD business and merge the rest.
My concern is they will struggle to gain critical mass as a business, and it may be shareholders would be best served by selling the individual parts of the business off. They must be worth 17-20p on that basis. I presume you mean Loan Notes and Options rather than warrants. I have fully accounted for those in my calculations.
