3 M&G Investment Management 9.27

7 SailingStone Capital Partners 3.52
8 Aberdeen Standard Investments 3.36
9 Vanguard Group 2.51
10 Norges Bank Investment Management 2.37
Does this mean that probably only about 10% of the shareholding is owned by institutional investors? Obviously there could be many more under the threshold for declaring, but there'd have to be loads of them to be significant. 10% seems low to me, or am I missing something?
Lots of new faces talking OPHR down atm, just need to see where their interest lie by looking at their posting history and probable investment decisions to workout their MO and type of 'investors' they are.
Early days, guys, early days.
So Standard Life have declared 7.11% on their Form 8.3 ( not TR-1, although I'm sure we will see significant movement in coming days) that's over 50,000,000 shares.
Do you think they would vote for 60p, sure they would be having a word with our board in due course, if not already.
Glad I didn't get mugged buying in early doors on the spike! Plenty of long suffering investors taking the opportunity to get out of this after years of miserable underperformance. I sold out a little while back at a loss....
oilbell, excellent post. I concur and think Ophr is well undervalued on merit. Am also not too fussed about takeover. (Which I think is likely to happen).
There is no offer....YET
Read the RNS stating........"about a possible cash offer to be made"
Artemis 1.84%
Standard Life 7.11%
Dimensional Fund 1.84%
more to come ....
It will soon change once the offer is announced Ophir are in a good position £110 million debt with a strong cash at the bank against that debt. And producing cheap! Assets putting $300 million into the bank in 2019 / 70p a share minimum or its no deal chaps Ophir don’t need a takeover. I have been looking at their numbers and if this doesn’t pan out I’m going to buy another £20k worth as I see the production alone giving me 100% return to my investment in around 12 months so it’s a clear buy for me.
Ummmm well that's it for now, lets hope it goes back over 50p
I expected far better than this?
Expected more of a positive reaction purely based on how beaten down this share was. A lot of value in Ophir but i suppose market will dictate the price. Surely has to be more than 50p
Board will not entertain a sub 70p offer so let’s see who’s right on this one. Great assets anything sub £1 is a steal for any big boy buyer like they are talking to right now.
Nice to see the market finally giving Ophir some attention! Be interesting to see how this plays out. I think we are all hoping for a decent initial offer of 60p plus and then for others to make counter offers, that would be the dream. However now there is a relatively small risk of the offer being retracted and the SP to fall back to 35-40p, but I can't see this happening. Most likely scenario is an initial offer around the 50-60p mark, but that's a complete guess I'll leave it to the big boys to discuss whats fair value in the current market.
more fool YOU should nothing transpire
More fool them at 48p!!!
A good rise this morning, surely this has the potential to be massive !
an offer may never come
So prudent existing holders will take some profits NOW
Hence the price will drift until an offer is actually made
GLA
Must be licking his lips this is the 3nd TO he has had to negotiate in a few years
Encore was the first.
Well, as expected the BoT's are keeping a tight rein on the SP atm.
Volume well below what I would have expected, although we are likely to see significant after hours buys.
Once the offer price is leaked to the city boys this will immediately spike. GLA
Expect another 20% gain min.
Only had £8k in here at 40p
I think this will be the lowest the board will even talk over. They won’t get this opportunity again to buy so cheap. Sit on hands time Bought another £10k at 47.5
Thank you
