Heard a rumour of a takeover this weekend from an ex employee of PDG who now works for Vertu said Trevor Finn would need 40p for it to work for him said it was a private individual with a lot of money BUT did say it was only a rumour
The rns today confirms my belief that the figures due shortly will show profits ahead of expectations by a lot and now a very reduced debt. Could see new highs ..
Saw this man on CNBC say if oil goes lower buy car makers and sellers and tyres.. Lets hope then that this proves a good call..
happy new year and to everyone else too. seems pretty positive to me. slow climb back to 40p now please
Good to have this unexpected update before final results next month, especially on top of general motor news item/comment yesterday. Initial market reaction seems positive.
Feel this may at last get noticed. Lets hope you need your calculator..
A happy new new to the faithful here. Make sure you buy your new car from Stratstone, please! Pity the SP hasn't really reflected the progress of the company in the past year.
The city knows that their full year results are going to be substantially ahead of forecast.
Well what's happening today, was up at 34.5p at one point nearly 8%. Now getting pushed back down into the usual range. Still think this has got to come good in the end given all the positive news. Vertu suffering from the same, being kept in narrow band.
Car sales up in November. Results should be good but at the moment this remains stuck in a rut. Every time it tries to rise the computer trader cuts its legs off..
Nice 500000 trade at 32p.... Going to be a great set of full year results come Feb/March.... Rerate to 40p due IMO. DYOR
Well Schroders ( Cazenove )hold this share in one of their closed smaller UK company funds. Having enjoyed stellar gains over the last few years its taken a bit of a cliff fall this year with companies like Xaar and Law& Bonar. tanking Shareholders have voted with their feet and the fund has been reopened .It seems that they have been trimming a few shares where possible to meet redemptions so that might be the case here not really noticeable but setting a barrier to any rises .They have adopted similar tactics with Telford Homes as there is a ready demand for the shares but they are holding the Sp rises by selling
and I believe a fair price to be 36-40p
I still think PDG undervalued, especially compared with their peers (INCH & LOOK). Both these are higher than 12 months ago, PDG is 20% down. PDG is performing well, but the p/e is lower than the other two. It always has been - a hang over from the disastrous takeover of Reg Vardy. Does the market fear similar mistakes in the future?
Many thanks for that mathsprof, incidentally do you have a view on the recent sp performance?
http://www.shorttracker.co.uk/company/GB00B1JQBT10/all This gives the info you need. Blackrock under 0.5% since Aug. No others disclosed (ie over 0.5%)
Does anyone know if this is being shorted by hedge funds etc? The info is hard to come by. The update seemed pretty good, and yet again the sp goes south.
I have thought for months this was undervalued but nobody seems to see it. Perhaps some will now..
ADVFN PDG BB........ Mortimer7 6 Nov'14 - 11:28 - 1992 of 1994 1 0 Berenberg has a BUY rating on PDG. From Traders Own:- "Pendragon is primarily a retailer of new and used vehicles in the UK but also offers secondary contract hiring and aftersales services. The company operates approximately 214 dealerships across the UK and represents 26 global brands. Despite a recent profit upgrade, Pendragon’s share price has seen little reaction and consequently still trades on 9.7x 2015E P/E. We believe investors still remain anxious given operational challenges Pendragon faced during the recession. However, we argue that with 80% less debt than in 2008 and a shift in business mix toward more stable revenue streams, we believe the current valuation does not reflect the de-risked business model. We initiate with a Buy rating and a price target of 40p, representing 29% upside to the current share price"
So the motor trade is one of the bright spots. Must be missing something somewhere as this has not moved for months...
After months of being in loss I am showing a small profit. Now to hold for the end of year zzz
Very positive. Good slow burner this stock
Out!!
Update due any time now. Expect it to confirm things are going well if not better than expected. This has been stuck in a rut for some time now so it would nice to see this move up to the next rung on the ladder..
Anyone else notice this.... 26-Sep-1416:02:5833.001,600,000Buy* 32.7533.00528.00kO on its way back to 40p.... Uptrend now looking confirmed and solid.
