Iv noticed everyday this week there has been trades of 350k at the close of business. With the sp holding up well, could this be the short position being closed or a new investor getting in before the divi date.
Share price seems to be stable after all the good news on debt and profits. Like a little uplift up to Q1 results, divi date coming up, so do we think a quarterly divi will happen ? The lock down talk is relevant, but i dont see if happening. Today they have said that 75% of people in hospital havent had the vaccine. With most of adults having the vaccine, its a milder illness. Im double jabbed. Starting to go out, but still like having my sharwiods, home pride, angle delight and kipling goodies. It was wet in may as well :-)
Also whirls

I have been studying Kallumama’s lockdown research, and guess what ? He is absolutely correct with his predictions……we are ALL going to die !!
Maybe from Covid or maybe from something else……but until that happens let’s be cheerful and happy and talk about PFD.
Does anyone else think the share price will 150.00 by the end of the year.
cod science based on what? Please stop it...I am bored of this sort of hysteria. You are like the girls in the hairdressers who think they won't get the vaccination because they have read all this stuff...what are they pharmacology graduates? PHDs in epidemiology still doing NOS at the weekends and worrying about Astra Zeneca.
oh wad some Pow'r the giftie gie us tae see oursels as ithers see us
kall give it a rest about covid, you said it (the absence of evidence is not evidence )
There is no evidence that there will be any more lockdowns just fear mungers.
even the new Indian variant is almost under control now with very few in hospital with real problems.
We all have our own views but no more lockdowns, we might have to ware masks for another few weeks / months but we can live with that.
OK we wonn't be completely back to normal with holidays etc but by December I think many long haul trips and Europe will be ok.
Goodness me Kall you are all Doom and Gloom, don't tell me you were one of the millions that said the world would end and everything would stop on Dec 31st 2000.
Life goes on and we will be fine with covid under control more or less in a few months.
Share prices will continue to go up and down and we will continue to make a few bob when we can, it's as simple as that.
Assumption the 500 potential employees will need somewhere to live.
Or the people living in the development will need somewhere to work? virtuous circle?
"Cabinet spokesperson for place, Coun Tim Cheetham, told the meeting the draft proposals could be subject to some degree of change as Premier Foods - which owns a portion of the land accounted for - has expressed a desire to expand its operation.
He added the often divisive masterplans were particularly important in such areas as MU3 that have been identified as brownfield - land previously developed for industry - to ensure development can be controlled.
“There will be a need to have some flexibility as part of this plan,” said Coun Cheetham.
“A large portion of one of these sites is owned by Premier Foods, which have plans to extend their facility.
“If that plan comes to fruition, we will need to revisit the housing allocation.”
According to a report discussed by cabinet on Wednesday, 1,683 homes could be built on Shaw Lane and a further 294 - as well as a 210-place extension to Carlton Primary Academy - on green space between Fish Dam Lane and Carlton Road.
Premier Foods’ expansion plans, if they are acted upon, could bring 500 more jobs."

Back to the share price. If everyone focussed on the one year chart I think there would be less anxiety!
The way it's going we might see £1.10 today
Nice move this morning!
Very interesting posts over the last 12 hrs, I am afraid I don't agree with you Kall.
I think we have more cases in the last week or so because we are high testing in certain areas and many of the new cases are in people that so far for whatever reason haven't had the vaccine, and this will all settle down very soon.
As for holidays in the EU we all know they still want to punish britain but now they just want our money and we should all stay at home and bring our local business es back to health first. The EU are fine until they want something.
Hey Kallumama
I am interested to know whether your encouragement for more lockdowns is because they are apparently good for PFD, or whether it’s because you genuinely believe that more lockdowns are required to eliminate Covid.
All we need vaccines to do is prevent the vast majority of hospitalised cases.
New cases are not a particular issue unless they result in significant numbers requiring
hospital treatment.
We live with seasonal influenza and pneumonia, which between them kill 10's of thousands
in the UK alone every year.
There will be antivirals in tablet form available soon, which will supplement vaccination
and can be prescribed to those experiencing symptoms. Progress made over the last year
is incredible and continuing.
That should have read ability not availability…….but the sentiment is the same.
Agreed dogger.
I went away for a week in the UK a few weeks ago and can confirm the place was very busy. Pretty much everyone I know is going away somewhere in the UK this year. Most of them several times.
As far as I'm concerned if once we're all vaccinated people want to live under a rock and not go out, do anything or see anyone else then that is their choice. Meanwhile there will be no more lockdowns as "the roadmap" was cautious but irreversible if I remember correctly.
I'm not making light of Covid or the impact it's had, but our literal silver bullet was the vaccines. If they don't get us back to normal nothing will and the government know this.
Kallumama, I have every respect for your availability as a financial analyst, but when it comes to epidemiology I suggest that you leave it to someone else.
With latest announcements on amber and green lists for travel, I suspect there is a good deal less science than politics involved here.
Inward tourism has been decimated and our balance of payments shot to pieces, so why would any government in that situation want to encourage a flood of leisure money abroad which could otherwise help to rebuild our economy.
The French, Italians, Spanish and Portuguese can wail all they like but after the way they have treated UK post-Brexit I for one have little sympathy for them.
You try booking a cottage or B&B at any hotspot in UK this year and not a discount in sight.
You don't need a full lockdown for PFD to continue to do well
As they should have sold more food for home eating
The reopening of indoor bars and restaurants last month failed to boost footfall on UK High Streets and shopping centres following May's record rainfall, according to new data.
Analysis by Springboard shows footfall was 27.5% lower compared to pre-pandemic May 2019.
The hospitality industry in England reopened indoors on 17 May.
But while footfall improved from April, activity was "muted" due to the weather and a limit on dining numbers.
At present, only groups of up to six people or a larger gathering of two households are allowed inside hospitality venues. And those serving alcohol must provide table service only.
