Well that didn't last long ....
Urraca,
Precisely !
There lol.
Think it's started with telegraph article?
Where are the trading bots?
Might even get a few 'new' investors joining in after seeing 'Cleaning Up' on TV last night. lol
I would expect our board to get the message out to the media before the 15th and follow up with PR there after if we are serious about selling.
Different trading pattern this morning to anything that has gone before ... ie almost normal .... hummmm looking up maybe !
Nudge nudge has the Telegraph been given?
That sort of ties in with the upbeat mood from the company yesterday seemed very poss about a getting a good result for holders
(from Faroe Petroleum article)
The talks emerged just months after Ophir announced plans to downsize its UK presence in favour of a new base in South East Asia.
The company turned its back on the UK after paying $205m (£157m) to Australian oil group Santos for a package of Southeast Asian oil and gas fields, which are a key draw for Medco.
A firm offer from Medco should emerge by Jan 28.
-- final line was the exciting one!!

AA you just took the words from me. The reason the sp is here is because THE MARKET KNOWS what we don’t know. The offer will be rejected on current movement / indication. I don’t see it plausible for a moment that either they will accept 45p or they will offer 90p. It’s iust not going to happen. Not if .... but when they reject the offer the sp WILL RISE!!
I've been in this situation several times, yes usually the price hovers around the offer price,
Thanks duster
Will try to ring this week
That numbers for you then try calling and asking your points
So what is the scenario if offer made
I have no experience of this
Do our shares automatically go to the price
Would it not be wise to keep and see how medco go forward
Or is every one selling out
Need your logic LC.

I really don't what the offer will be but what I can say is only the ones that will be happy are the ones who have bought in lately!
The institutions have been averaging down for the last year or so. I would imaging that most hold lower prices than you would expect?
Davstock,
Nice post I personally think Medco just want the stuff around there present operations I would knock Tanz off that leavs about 60p ish, but I hope you are correct.
ATB
Looking at the $1.3 Billion for 20% of Tanzania, I know at present it has no value but it will at some point, so lets say $200 mil (6th of the original sale) / $250 Mil for Santos and $350 mil for all other assets, that would put a 80p-ish offer?
Faroe went for $819 Mil today. Don't know a lot about about them but they don't look any more attractive than Ophir?
Find the shaparone bit fascinating, join the dots some on the boards were thinking the deals off but clearly its on.
And I know all about voice regognition tones to work out happy sad tones if you get me.
Financial advisers:
Morgan Stanley and Investec are acting exclusively for Ophir and no one else.
Standard Chartered Bank are acting exclusively for Medco and no one else.
Thanks, all my orders got filled way to early (lol), so added more today and will do tomorrow if she dips again.
9. Rns
I think you will be plenty happy soon mate. imho had a very nice chat with there head of investor relations very nice chap nothing he could say of course but he was shaparoned with a guy, nice chap from MS Just to make sure nothing was given out wrongly.
So says to me it's still on going. as inv bankers ain't cheap.
Now just 15% (4.4p) above pre RNS possible offer announcement. Oil has surged in the past week along with indices, Ophir has to begin to move up tomorrow imo.
If this deal does not materialise then I will absolutely go over weight with Ophir, this will be +70p by year end at the very least ... throwing off cash low capex very low debt with +25,000bopd moving to +30,000bopd in 12 months. No need for any dilution for the foreseeable if at all.
Think an offer will come prior to 15th, as an excellent trading update will add some uumph to the SP. Meaning any low ball offer could be out of date even before Medco make it.
Board are playing cat 'n' mouse atm and I think Ophir have all the cheese.
Game on !
gla
duster,
Gentle reminder imo .... must be aware of notifiable 8.3's that are yet to release imo, or more the case, ones that have but not updated !!!
As you mentioned, no need to have released that, they all cost money to issue.
The tide is about to turn imo, build up to 15th starting tomorrow imo
