Why are they not publishing the accounts?
Are they hiding good news, surely not! Perhaps, head in sand may make it all go away.
Accounts will likely say that there are grave doubts about Avanti's ability to continue as a Going Concern and that may scare suppliers, customers, and the whole wide world.
They are trading on JP Jenkins I say trading mind you... I don't think they have actually had any trades go through JP Jenkins or no clear data that I can see the Current share price is 0.12 GBX so literally not even half a penny. I am long 100k Shares in them but basically lost thousands. I have emailed them asking WTF is going on with their lack of accounts being outdated no news since 2021. But no suprise no response. I actually even shouted to them about the JP Jenkins page was literally blank https://jpjenkins.com/company/avanti-communications-group-plc/ which they did update. But again never actually got back to me.
What I do find interesting is the fact on linkedin they are still hiring employees etc... Currently I think they have around 200 staff. Really ****ed off with them though at least Publish the f*** accounts man! They are acting like cowboys if they just published the accounts people would have at least more faith even if it's bad news. It looks worse doing nothing.
They aren't trading - they are still delisted. Apparently there was a broker where you could trade in theory, but I'm not sure whether that ever really happened. You were right to write it off as a loss.
hi all, i bought avanti communications in 2009 at £2.25 before they launched hylas 1 after launch went up over £7.00 i remember the directors offloading millions of share after quoting that these would hit £20 i stupidly hung on for a while and then sold for around £5.00. i later bought a few thousand at a lower price that went down to zero and delisted i wrote it off as a loss, are these actually still trading and at what price please and what market ? thanks in advance x
Didn’t Solus hold about 40%? If so, how have they been able to offload that amount? Who would want them ?
Thanks Dan. It's hard to say what these filings actually mean - the registration of fixed and variable charges was also announced just prior to the 2021 refinancing, so not sure if this is significant or not. the fact that Solus has now ceased to be a significant holder is very interesting though. Have they sold to the other debt holders, or a third party? Who knows, but like you, the absence of any news to say the refinancing has been done leads me to expect the worst here.......
MTB, I think the Companies House filing looks to have provided some hint that the ship is sinking or a White Knight is on the horizon. Loyal believers (fools) remain in the dark with no accounts as you reminded us of this fact. It has been a long painful journey and perhaps pulling the plug may bring respite.
So, the 1 year debt extension agreed last year ended on Monday. Astonishingly, there has been no news as to whether this has been rolled again, or whether the debt holders have finally put the company out of its misery. Given that we still haven't seen any results since H1 2020, the signs aren't good........
Hi Dan - 99% of my posts here are in response to someone else, the other 1% (like the last one below) when a thought occurs. No compulsion involved (unless you count the compulsion to responded when addressed, which I think most of us have). Cheers!
Thank you Matt. I wish I'd listened to your warnings earlier. However, we are where we are. However, you seem to have a bit of an obsession with this company. I have 'lost' a fair bit with my investment here but even then I am not obsessed. Why the compulsion?
Probably also worth mentioning that the debt which was rolled from last year now matures at the end of this month, so expect some form of announcement imminently!

Ah, but is it a corpse BTM, or is it a going concern which will rise phoenix-like from the ashes with a zillion backhaul contracts, pay back the debt, re-list, and make all the minority shareholders multi-millionaires.....?
(Spoiler alert - it is in fact a corpse....;-) )
Oh stop it you two. Here we are on the verge of a significent breakthrough - they publish accounts (and fudge another going concern claim), or do not publish accounts and declare the end. Meanwhile all you two can do is bicker. Not nice over the corpse of Avanti is it?
For disclosure I am long on AVN (100,000). Why I ask myself?
...the Company still hasn't posted it's 2020 accounts according to the Companies House website. In the first half of 2020 revenues grew by a disappointing 6%, and the Firm made an ebitda loss. Note that this is even before 30mn of depreciation (write-offs) and 40m of interest (some 50% higher than H1 2019). I'm assuming the delay in accounts is not because there was an unexpectedly rapid improvement in H2, and lord knows what happened in 2021! There is only so long that the debt holders can allow this to continue in my view, unless by some miracle, they can start winning huge backhaul contracts (Tyche's argument I believe).
I didn't say I that I didn't resort to name calling. I simply said this was only upon provocation. Hence 'pea brain came after 'moron'. Now I admit my first post was cheeky, but it was supposed to be more of a tease, hence the ;-) at the end. I would suggest your response upped the ante and (perhaps mistakenly) I dived down to your level. I am trying to be a bit better behaved now. BTW, that wasn't our first conversation, so I would politely point out that your post is actually the factually incorrect one, but I won't 'name call' you on that one - just an honest mistake on your part.
And sorry to disagree with your knowledge of 'economics' but if the share is worthless, your economic interest is zero, the same as mine. However, if you're still struggling with this, shall we say 'financial interest'. Perhaps that makes it clearer?
Again, I have to pick you up on your understanding of the english language. Posting something provocative or cheeky, does not imply that the person is moronic. I can assure you that I suffer from no intellectual shortcoming thanks. Yet still you call me that. Like I say, it means you've lost the argument. Looking forward to your reply as ever - make it a good one!
Oh and one last thing.. is decent person who mentions name calling would usually not respond in the same way. Stinks of being a follower not a leader. Go back to your posts which you seem to like to refer to when it's in your interest..:
Kpatel - don't you get it pea brain
A post from you for reference, one of many name calling I hasten to add.
Oh and my economic interest here is clearly greater than yours as an investor in this company. That's just common sense.
I'll keep this short because you are becoming attached to me and clearly lying and when people lie all my respect if any vanishes quickly.
I was having a conversation with Tyche in May 21 which quite frankly had nothing to do with you and was a genuine attempt to understand the position of this company whom I had not kept fully up to date with. Anyhow, you decided to open an exchange with me starting with this:
Kpatel - Nice to that you are still living in your fluffy world of of self-delusion, but it might be time to wake up now....;-)
Very constructive as ever. Was I to expect anything less? No. Of note, I'd never had an exchange with you prior to this so a great way to open a conversation with another member on the board.
So I'm not sure what you were to expecting after this other than to be called a moron which based on the above holds true. I think you owe me an apology for your mislaid facts and frank lies.
I believe you referred to me as having a 'small brain' - not name calling for you then?
Whilst I did (admittedly, to my detriment) use sarcasm ultimately, most of my original posts on this Board were absolutely designed to inform and support. Guess what happened? - A flood of abusive and sarcastic posts (just because I disagreed), which is an area where (again to my detriment) I have some skill, so was happy to fight fire with fire. However, look at my posts on other stocks, I think you'll find that the vast majority are without any malice. The reason the exchange between you and I started was that in May 2021, you decided you would tell me that I was "100% wrong" on the predictions I'd posted. I'm not sure how you expected me to react to that - I mean, it's just not true is it. Regarding what I'm still doing here - well actually, responding to your posts since May, so if you want me to stop, you know what to do :-). I guess the question could be aimed back at you - your economic interest here is, after all, the same as mine - zero. Looking forward to your response, as ever.....
Unfortunately I haven't learnt anything from you as you tend to make sarcastic remarks as I'm sure I recall at the start of our dialogue. I'm sure I didn't name call you in my last post? If you have lost as an investor then instead of portraying a 'I told you so attitude' to investors here you should encourage them on a learning journey. That's the way you approach these things. I could have got out of Avanti at £3+ but allowed the small risk to run and was willing to take that risk as many investors have done before me. So before judging you need to understand the investors position and investment strategy. I think most on this board have cleared out, still have no idea why you keep returning. Like I said maybe it's best we agree to disagree. Take it easy.
Please feel free to look at the companies I post on, and you'll get an idea of (a) how diversified I am, and (b) whether I've 'lost so much'. I do agree with you that no investor get's everything right, and I've certainly made some mistakes (including AVN), but I think that the difference is, I learn from them (hence I sold AVN at £1). Incidentally, I never said the Company was bust or not operating, simply that the shareholders would be/were crushed - and even you have to admit that is exactly what happened. Also, the 'theme' on this Board you allude to is simply sour grapes - lot's of holders who resented my less than positive posts whilst the equity still had value, and who then directed their anger at me when what I predicted actually happened - predictable if illogical behaviour, but certainly not a 'theme' that shows me on a bad light (quite the opposite I would say....) And finally, if you want to be 'pleasant', how about dropping the name calling? Read this post again to discover how it's possible to make your argument without demeaning the other person. There you go - another thing I've taught you - you're welcome! ( :-)) )
Hehe.. I wouldn't say this is interacting with you in a financial investing sense. It's more demeaning you and your incessant need to post on a company you supposedly have no financial interest in. Me coming back is justifiable as you said I've made the mistake and am still invested. But you, no idea other than you've lost so much you're trying to get your kicks out of others on the board who are still invested. Seems to be a theme based on other peoples opinions on you here. And again, as I've mentioned numerous time but your small brain struggles to cope - a small percentage of my portfolio in speculative stocks allows me to let them run instead of trying to trade in and out. Avanti are still operating as far as I'm aware so you missed the beat on this no? I don't expect to see any return on investment here but as I've said I am happy to admit when I've made a bad investment and I also know no honest investor hasn't. Anyhow, let's leave it on a pleasant tone and agree to disagree on our opinions. I'm sure the board are sick of it as am I. Good luck with your investing journey.
:-) Quote: '..one thing I've learnt is interacting with prunes like you is not productive on any level' yet you keep responding to all my messages proving that you haven't even learned the thing you profess to :-))
And ironically, if you were looking for 'accurate and honest information' on AVN, the you had to look no further than my multiple posts saying that the debt would crush the equity holders - yet you chose to ignore it. I'm not sure you understand how best to use these boards - here's a tip - just looking for people who agree with you to sustain your biases is exactly the wrong way. Feel free to keep your name calling up - just shows you've lost the argument. Look forward to your reply xx.
You continue to live up to the name MattTheFool. Hopefully this'll be the last communication I have with you. As I'm sure I've mentioned before but your squeaky little brain may not have processed it - I like yo use forums like this to discuss my higher risk/ speculative UK stocks to share knowledge on relatively smaller companies where mainstream info is hard to come by. My other stocks like Apple, Microsoft, or Nucor for example I don't need to use forums as accurate and honest information is easy to come by. But with all investing it is a learning curve and one thing I've learnt is interacting with prunes like you is not productive on any level. Get on with your life and I'll do the same. Remember you have no interest in Avanti but just hang around like a bad smell. Suits you.
So to be clear, on a bulletin Board designed for shareholders to exchange views on the shares they hold or are interested in, you are accusing me of posting on shares that I hold and am interested in, and for you, that is some form of criticism? Your approach is just to post on the dogs that you hold, but oddly not on the other 'diversified portfolio' which you (allegedly - LOL) have? You are a bit of a silly-billy, aren't you?
