well there we have it, the Sirius board are not interested in looking into any other potential offer or situation or even looking into the possible idea raised by the Jupiter fund manager in keeping us all still invested. why can,t anglo explore this option its a great idea ? every one would be happy . but no I think now this deal was struck behind closed doors along time ago, mr fraser never really wanted to get funding separately, it was to much like hard work ! no after the Sirius board have secured there partnership with anglo they will come out smelling of roses. its a case of I,m alright jack !...or every man and women for themselves....come on Jupiter help us...stop these greedy people
Calamari you are a shareholder, is that how you feel?
“And shareholders don't give a stuff about senior execs.“
Employees have contracts of employment.
A new employer cannot just tear up the employees contracts.
---
No, but an administrator can tear up the contracts. That's why there's a conflict. The senior execs dont give a stuff about sholders or creditors. they're interested in saving their own skin and pocketing the 19 million as well as future salary bonus and share options.
If Fraser had any decency he would resign, but he wont because he's a turd and in it for himself. The sholders in Yorkshire wont forget this treachery and sheer incompetence that led us to the point of ruin.
Anglo American is a British company.
It’s origins are in South Africa, hence the Anglo, the only reason for the American part of the name is because J P Morgan provided the funds to start the business.
The stain of JP Morgan is all over this sorry tale. Why is it that I am getting the feeling this entire saga has been expertly choreographed from start to finish ? No need to answer. A good many folk in Yorkshire (or should that be many good folk in Yorkshire) are probably thinking the same.
BritinWien,
Write to your broker or e-mail and simlply advise them that you wish to vote on the takeover, as is your right to do so, and ask them to send appropriate details.
Failing that join ShareSoc asap and ask their members on how you can vote, am sure they will advise you.
J p Morgan again
Wonder if c.f. ask the scottish government to put up the cash they are always talking about how Norway use their oil revenue how better to spend it on this and tell the people of north east England who voted for BJ that he only cares for his new American pal funny how the last word in aa is America let's hope he reads this and holds his head in shame giving this opportunity to a non British company
Starting to feel we are now on the back foot.
Things seem to be moving fast . But really there not. Looking like clock is being run down . Feel so helpless .
Miami. Bet CF is on the guest list .
So who is going to be on the early York to Kings Cross train on 3 /3/20?
May be our last chance to heckle Fraser and the BOD.
No doubt the whole affair will be suitably “stage managed”, but I would like to certainly voice my opinion over the shenanigans of the past few months.
Still invested, and voting NO.
JJ
Compensation for the loss in there shares ,so theres no anommosity , towards the new potential owners , who have raped the share holders ie emplyee s
For what?
155,000 no votes from me.
OR
No
Chilting. That is a very good point about local suppliers. It is highly likely that ordinary creditors will get almost nothing in an administration and it may well push some of them under.
-----
Then they should go knock on Fraser's door. He has seven million quid of their money (and ours).
"Fraser may think he has run the clock down on his plan to fold himself into AAL"
Well, you're just speculating there longtermview.
----
Correct calamari. But the job offer on same terms and conditions with his Aussie mates and the 19 million quid to split between execs seem like compelling reasons to me. Yet more speculation, but I wonder if Fraser would be trying a little harder to secure a plan b if Rio or another miner was offering 5.5p but without the job offer and 19M in blood money?
Still planning to vote no and hope there's one final twist in this story. Frasers behavior stinks.

I still believe a better offer will materialise in the next 3 weeks before the meeting. Cannot believe there is not a large company willing to snap this up at more than AALs pathetic offer.
I just read through the takeover code. (new to me - Bonds holder info, (guessing different to a shareholder?) - i have to say there are a lot of fingers and companies with names that i have not heard of in this crusty pie.
Is that normal? Bidco, Cazenove, Lazard, BNY Mellon. what is their interest in all this? i know i have only been here a week or so, but this is the first time their names have come up IIRC.

The net result of voting no and pushing SM into administration would be wipe out for the shareholders and financial pain for the companies creditors - maybe some local firms in Yorkshire could even be pushed into bankruptcy.
Then AAL would pick up SM for even more of a bargain.
Nick, Me too, When the vote happens, you should receive info from where you got your shares.
- Also, have you looked at Sharesoc's website?
L
This will go to AAL whichever way the vote goes. The only difference is whether shareholders get something or nothing. There is zero to gain from voting no, and everything to lose. However small your return at 5.5p you live to fight another day.
I took a big loss on this, but so glad I’m out of Sirius and the toxic environment that this bb has become. There’s a time to accept a loss and move on, it’s better financially and for your mental health.
Francesco Schettino Costa Concordia.
Heads lines from today
"Sirius Minerals warns investors it’s Anglo's lowball takeover offer or bust" I'd rather we go bust and the captain goes down with the ship along with all it's third class Passengers.
"Sirius Minerals sets up shareholder helpline as it confirms Anglo American takeover timetable"
I thought by "helpline" they meant somebody to talk them through the heavy depression lots of us are now in along with a... prevention help line. Seriously hope the BOD and CF gets what coming to them, bloody crooks
Agreed Franalex. Its a gamble. But to see this go to AAL and Fraser make out like a bandit cannot be allowed to happen. Lets get it rescued then sack Fraser and his cronies and move on
