Hi Jstar,
well you learn something new everyday,
this may well bring forward the sale of these bad boys.
thanks for your knowledge, Colin.
Just to make clear for those that dont trade often the dividend is already built into the price.
On the day the share regsiter is confirmed for the dividend the share price of your shares will drop by the same amount. That is because a new buyer of the shares will not be entitlted to the dividend hence the price drops by the amount of the dividend
You are disposing of a business unit whos price has been built into the current share price.
For examole todays prixe is £2.50 as soon as the share goes ex dividend of 50p the share price will all things equal drop to £2.00. In other words the dividend is built into the current price..
No problem Chelwood, the only thing is they only sell the complete certificate and you cannot only sell some of the shares which is why we are splitting the holding onto 2 certificates.
They sell them and soon as possible so being local to Tunbridge Wells I will deliver the certificates by hand when the price is high and stabilised, all the best, Colin.
Hi, this is of interesting regarding sellmysharecertificates.com. I am also a tesco employee and like you say equinitis cost are very high.
Can you control the price you get with sellmysharecertificates.com or are they sold in bulk with everyone elses? Do you get a life price when you contact them? thanks in advance
Thank you,very much appreciated
Hi Chelwood, one other thing, when you sell don't use Equiniti as they will cop you 1%. We have requested share certificates and when the time comes will sell through sellmysharecertificates.com as they will only charge £25 but watch out for Capital Gains tax. We have decide to transfer half of her indoors shares to me then no tax to pay, win win, good luck.
Hi Chelwood,
I am in the same position as you £350 per month!! if it is a 50p dividend then yes a 7 grand bonus so on that basis keep hold of them, good luck with whatever you decide to do.
Hi There. I'm sitting tight for now and keeping hold of all my shares. The Thai sale isn't predicted to be for some time (2nd half I believe) But with reasonable growth and the standard divi back as well as this possible Thai sale it's looking a much better share. :-)
Morning.Has anyone got an opinion on the recent maturity of the 2014 saye.We have 14140 share options. If we buy and hold would/could we be entitled to a dividend as per the proposed £5 billion payback.Would i be correct thinking it could be 50p x 14140 or am i being naive
Why are people selling do they not want the dividend payment
Thanks Supertag, its a big gamble in these volatile times but I will try to forget we own these until the divi arrives.
Be lucky in your portfolio B+D.
This dividend makes Tesco quite attractive to investors
Ah I’m still waking up after the night shift, I didn’t see or read the RNS ... very Interesting especially dividend of potentially 50p and also 2 .5 billion pumped into the pension deficit. However once the shares drop 50p accordingly I guess going forward it would make Tescos Lena and Mina
Wow couldn’t of had your money parked in a better stock. I guess Tescos fuel bill will potentially come down if oil remains low . ( how long before us mugs at the pumps see 30% off) plus we all need to feed. Ps down £70 on BT ha ha thank god it was only a little punt
What date is this folks?
Drop by around 51p (plus whatever the final div is) is the obvious answer!. However 51p just seems too good to be true and we know what that usually means. Perhaps they will stagger the payments.
Thats what I worked it out as also. Wonder what the SP will do on EX Div day.
Maths was never my strong point but if the special dividend is to total 5 billion and there are 9.79 billion shares in circulation this would mean the special would be around 51pence for each share held.
One I'm looking at for growth today (not many out there!)
- Thailand/Malaysia sold and special div for shareholders
- UK Sales up due to panic buying (toilet rolls...)
- Strong promo's to encourage shoppers with price match v Aldi
You are!FFS
Thought we were going to get a special div following that sale :)
Well done B and D , My wife got hers today but we made the mistake of letting them sell for us and only got £2.275 per share so disappointed with that as it dropped £3k since we took that option.
Still £23k in the bank but £3k less that it might have ben. Lesson learned,
Good luck with yours.
Supertag
Nice to see Tesco getting back up towards the 60s. Just had the 5 year SAYE finish so 14140 shares to trade
tesco is up so far today, whilst most other stocks are crashing.
It must be all the unnecessary CV related panic buying
