Sorry for the late comment, had a busy w/e. I've been watching SMDR for some time, but still haven't been inspired to part with my cash. I think it's a combination of the debt, the lack of post-tax profitability with over 10kboepd and a lack of clarity on my part about just how much and how quickly production can be increased. Having said that, if you're thinking of getting in, we're probably at a fairly good price now. Not sure how the market will react to today's rns.
ITV "Off The Beaten Track "now .-- got my home county of shropshire on tonight ----
Ramble on a bit now so apologies up front , but it's pretty quiet so here goes : US non-farm payroll came in higher than expected so DOW has shot up to the 16000 level rapidly --Missed the initial surge but got in just after the open so made a bob or two there. Danger is still that @ 16100 we get a convergence of the extreme long term uptrend from 2000 and the shorter term uptrend from the lows of 2009.This all means that quite simply it will probably pull back once these lines of convergence cross over. "CHARTIST " from shares magazine is right on this point but the pullback although technically could take us back to his stated level -the time frame to achieve his low of 14300 odd is very wide and could take months.? He admits to calling this incorrectly twice already (there's confidence in your own ability for you -NOT )--My opinion is a pullback will stay well above his stated low levels . Enough of that rubbish, on to SMDR : Andreaban , get the other guys to do a more in depth report on the Company financial position etc etc cos the're better with that than me. They've just issued an unsecured bond for $150 mill. to attack their net debt , this is paying 9.75% and has been placed successfully , this is good as being an unsecured bond far more confidence is required from investors.I've looked quickly over the last two interim statements etc and can't see find any Glaring issues not being addessed Agree with you , several brokers are positive @ present levels , . It is at year lows , not seen for ten years (even a bit lower then ) so downside is probably limited but it could see some more downside is MHO. It is currently obviously in a long term downtrend , but seems to be holding at these levels with several touches on or at the 1 pound level. The upside ,if you take the gamble , is that it could rise to 160 or even 170 and still be within the downtrend. From current level this would give a return of 60-70 %---I think this is well worth serious consideration as the risk/ reward is very high in favour of reward. I would like to hear the Guys opinion on this one before buying in , hope we can get theirs over the weekend.? Sorry for rabbitting on everyone VGLA.
Take a look -see and get back . Pretty quiet here today again sp doesn't seem to have made its mind up which way to go ? I'm over on FGP and RSA trying to get Goldenshares to respond to my posts. I suspect he knows who i was previously and won't respond even if hell is about to freeze over.!!!! Youv'e got to LOL
" IN A ONE-HORSE OPEN SLEIGH"------ not feeling too Bearish but looking over my Ftse 100 and 250 portfolio this am. as there is a possibility of a DOW reversal in the US and the FTSE will go down with it. Looking back to 2009 the Santa Rally should kick in mid to late dec and hopefully carry thru' to march. BUT-as we all know -past performance is never a Guarantee.! AIM stocks and FTSE 350 aren't really affected . in the same way. I need you guys to find me some good AIM growth stocks preferably with a huge divi. as well. ( i don't ask for much do i, lol ) GLA.
What's happened to Andreaban ??
"Like a light bulb" (I'm the annoying kid at the back)
and if you ever saw it you could even say it glows from Mrs Arsenal he hates xmas
Too Quiet, so - - - - I will sing the first line of a Xmas song and you must all come in one at a time with the next line . OK ? hear goes. "RUDOLPH THE RED -NOSED REINDEER,HAD A VERY SHINY NOSE" --Whoes next ? Lol. Just a bit of fun .
Quite on most bb's today . Arsenal58-- looked over JIL again, i think you made a fab. choice there , the divi. is astounding . Bought in this am, just a small amount, hoping for a cont. of sp . from now to ex.div. date.. Don't usually invest in this sort of comp. but this one may well deliver hansomely . Good Tip, VGLA .
Wow, mkt cap significantly lower than net assets (although the nature of their work requires a certain adjustment for risk) and good divis. I'm very tempted. I'm like a kid in a sweet shop with only £1 to spend...there are a lot of good opportunities out there atm and I want to buy everything but I can't.
Lol, when I posted this morning it had been a few days since I last checked on rsa, I thought it was still around 109. I need more sleep. Looks a good decision to me! Nice to see esur starting to rise again too.
Of CAR and DIA with a bit of profit., pleased about that --GL All.
against the general market flow. Pretty heavy into the Insurance sector now with ESUR, RSA, DLG ,so i 'll have to be careful .
bearish on the whole market just cant say no to opps like them dont matter if you cant get out straight away on them percentages. hope you got the ice cream for later after the tooth fairy has been under your pillow GLA
I knew you wouldn't be "growling " for long ( buddy) -Off to the dreaded dentist again now ,will check out those you mention on return . America set to drop again ,FTSE down . Anyone else getting used to the colour RED ???? GLA.
have you had a gander at JIL gone from.140 to 155 and go ex-divi on 11 dec paying 14p thats 9% i have just grabbed 5000 that and MDM should pay for my january . GLA.
I have just bought into RSA after doing a bit more reading etc. it's just a spread bet but imho the Irish problem is now well factored in ,it's had the "hole" plugged up financially speaking and @ these levels a bounce to 110-120 is quite possible, A drop below £1.00 is going to attract Buyers ( 7% divi) Could drop to support @ 92 p but that would present an even better level to top-up from. Only my op. everyone but got to be worth a punt now. GLA.
MDM paying a 5.5 p divi just got in at 1.44 thats 3.4% worth a sniff ex divi 11 dec still a bear love opps like that though and share price is down 15 GLA dinner time
Hope you keep some ESUR ,imho pullback will only be small , I bought somemore @ 247.5 p. Santa's Xmas Rally is just about to start , , i can see Rudolphs nose peeping round the corner. VGLA .
Been utter mayhem. In Cambodia for a while very chilled/ the miners in my portfolio are looking very sick ,think there is some falls in the markets short term. Going to de-risk substantially over the coming weeks i have become a bear over the last week or so GLA.
Mornin', yes i see Andreaban is watching RSA . Have been in there myself in the past -echo your sentiment on entry level. Have gone into MONY as well ,both are showing red as we speak but yesterday was a red day almost everywhere. Fingers crossed . Hope Arsenal58 continues to post me, but hasn't as yet ? No cloak and dagger stuff going on ,felt pressure to re-invent as it where--LSE obliged VGLA
im a southerner my love loool
Cheers for letting me know. It looks a good entry point. I really like gbo. For a start it's already profitable, then it's growth is good I can see where the additional profit will come from. I think the upcoming rns may send it to 70. I'd be in today, but I have a transfer due into my isa which would make the acquisition more efficient (only investing relatively small amounts fees still have a material impact). I could transfer the money sooner, but it's too late to cancel the transfer now, so I'm going to wait and see if anything I'm watching is good value next week. I've also looked at RSA, but would want an entry around 102 with their current problems.
and wondered if trouble in Bangkok causing you any probs. at all ,?
