1. Someone said only weeks ago, that possibly, Kurt could go to a premier miner, because of his qualities. 2. That same someone now says, that the possibility of bankrupt, is worthy of note, because Kurt doesn't have the qualities to prevent that. Just saying. atb
The Swedish government doesnt recognise sharp ends. Theyve been staring at one for over 3 years, as you, and others have been pointing out. Its only sharp when its real.
Equally I wouldn't be surprised if they chose not to ask the questions and ruled in our favour much earlier, the govt has set deadlines for all interested parties and the submission from Bems lawyers is unlikely to need any further ammedment/addition. This is definately the sharp end as I'm sure the companies lawyers are subtley making clear
didnt Kurt refer to these additional questions in the RNS. Ive just read it again, and his wording clearly sends the message for the umpteenth time, we deserve the concession, just grant it. Once again, the fog descends around this nonsense.
Think you'll find I kinda expected this to be about summer that a decsion is finally made, that doesn't mean that asking the questions and getting an answer is going to take 5 months., it just mean i doubt we'll get a the govt to get all its duck aligned and proounce until then.
Judging by some of the comments Mick, most posters appear not to have read it unfortunately... And people peddling bankruptcy... tut tut. Might be worth reading info on the FCA website as well.
"It's not that many questions and doesn't take a lot of analysis to answer so I don't imagine it would take too long to submit/reply, the questions/answers" Come on FFS, we have been through this so many times now, time to get real. If indeed the Government do ask the questions we will be lucky to see a decision before summer in my opinion.
1. Swedish companies go bankrupt for the same reasons as British companies 2. The way this application has been handles is not the norm.
Latest what? The 23 page doc from BEM most people haven't seen, so that is the latest to discuss.
Most argue here and hence no info gets through. Have a look at the latest and discuss that instead!
Ok. I was just checking, because you seem to enjoy talking this down as the sp drops. It doesn't seem that you are wishing long-termers well at all. Quite the opposite in fact. I would say also, that It depends if the Concession is approved with other positive known news to support it, e.g. fantastic scoping study results. So the rise is anyone's guess. It may not be a modest one, depending on other factors. Kurt won't give up on this, and we are majority Swedish owned, so I can't see the Company folding. He will always be able to raise the funds. The Swedes more familiar with and even perhaps resigned to the norm of their own bureaucratic shambles. They will wait! You mentioned the 17p nugget, just to rub it in I feel, a bit naughty of you, but no, if you are going to be like that, I wish I'd have sold out at 70p. :-)
Agree with that Granite, I expect the answers to those questions will be readily available.
I remember a few years ago now, during the winter and with an agreed pause in drilling(remember) they moved reindeer down onto the Kallak site. At the time a local, posted on Avanza that it was the first time he could remember reindeer being there. Apparently there was not enough food to support them as the Sami had to supplement their natural diet. The thing is with the Sami its very difficult to have any sort of dialogue with them, they just do not want to engage.
Evening guys, I won't act to know the answers to why KB and BEM acting as they did with the 23 page submission to the governemt, but I do have a couple of linked ideas; 1) Election year in sweden sep. 2018, Atm the government is made up of 2 parties, soc. Dems and the environmental party (Miljö partiet (MP)), The current environment minister is from MP and is an outspoken hostile of the Kallak project. The Polls atm aimes for MP to have a terrible election where they amongst other things is set to lose their government involvement. The soc. Dems, on the other hand is set to her a near-perfect election. So if BEM asks for an extended government handling, incl. Statements from parties/officials already positive on the Kallak project, BEM gains atleast two things; Less political obstruction & and an even tighter case. 2) Debunking the laponia/reindeer problem with historical facts and science. 3) Maping of the reindeer cross routes; the sames have now for a couple of years on multiple occassions that Kallak is the dead middle of the important grazeing and restitution area... i suspect BEM to try and do an actual count of the scope these reindeers are moved thru the peninsula, which i Think is not happening, Just my thoughts Sound critique is welcomed, but please bring valid points Have a nice evening -Bacon
Hello, Just to repeat again, the current SP, although laughable, is of no interest to me. I will only buy in, if the concession is granted. My appetite for that is realistically waning. The potential has been irreparably damaged, in my view, and any post concession rise in the SP will be very modest. ATB.
So the scoping study is published next week. Does the company withdraw the request for the government to ask all these extra questions? Get real. The scoping study is not required by the application process. Indeed, although the contents may be encouraging, they may be inadmissible.
You got your buy in price yet?
I suspect the Sami would object to that as well.....
Well it made me chuckle :)
Hi Mick I have said this before and it is only my opinion but I'm inclined to think that Kurt is causing these delays to the process to allow the scoping study team to complete their work which I think is scheduled for completion in mid February. If this is the case and Kurt is able to announce that we have zillions of tons of ore then the extended potential life of the mine will blow away the Sami's plucked out of the air estimate of 14 years. I can't think of any other reason why Kurt would case these delays to his own project. If I'm right then the end will justify the means.
It's not that many questions and doesn't take a lot of analysis to answer so I don't imagine it would take too long to submit/reply, the questions/answers will just strengthen the case for the concession to be granted. You never know the govt may just go say 'Yes' as I think the case is sufficeintly made already but I certainly think they'll say 'yes' after if they do approach these parties.
Extensive exploitation on the most important fields of the river industry Almost half of all mining permits and more than every fifth wind turbine in the reindeer husbandry area are found in the specially protected land areas of the river. It shows a new survey of Sameradion & SVT Spmi. To carry out mining, several permits are required. One of the most important is about the so-called processing concession, which companies apply for at the state authority Bergsstaten. Sameradion & SVT Spmi has mapped all mining and wind farms in the reindeer husbandry area. The survey shows that more than four out of ten mining licenses and more than every fifth wind turbine are found on fields designated as national interest for the river industry. In total, there are 46 mining facilities and 220 wind turbines, and the national interest means that these areas should, as far as possible, be protected from exploitation, which can significantly complicate reindeer husbandry. n Mal Samby's most important fields, there are currently fifteen mining and two wind farms, and samebyn has repeatedly stated the need for a comprehensive assessment of how it affects the run-up. "Twenty-five years ago, we felt that the pressure on exploitation could not increase; that we could not accept more intrusion. Since then, it has only escalated, "says Jrgen Stenberg, chairman of Mal Samby. Even if a processing permit does not automatically mean that there will be a mine on the site, he thinks that the permissions should be added to the line of all the mines that already exist or have been in the area. Today two big mines are being run in Mal Samby's area, two new ones are on its way to open and just over ten mining mines are in the area. - A collection area where there is a mine will never be restored, it is out of order. When the mine is laid down, the soil is gone, says Jrgen Stenberg. The national interests are set against each other In many areas of exploitation, rennringen is not the only national interest. Even mining or wind power can be classified as national interest due to the good availability of mineral deposits or the good wind conditions. When two incompatible national interests are weighed against each other, the law gives priority to the best that promotes the long-term and sustainability of the land and the environment in the area. But 103 of the wind turbines are located in areas where the pipeline is the only national interest, Sameradion & SVT Spmis shows a survey. And in cases where the riksart and wind power's national interests are tied to each other, the wind tends to weigh heavier, "the Energy Agency notes. Even a large number of mining licenses, 21, apply to areas where the river industry is the only national interest. In many of these cases, the area has only been designated as national interest afterwards, but at least four o
They are like " ask them if they'd like a new road"? and "would you benefit from more investment in the area?" Agree though - too cautious - they have a solid case. No pussying around....
has clearly been prescribed by the lawyers, in the face of relentless intransigence from the government, and probably explains the request for the deadline extension? I wish the few remaining hardcore lths well. This is now a share purely for trading, and very risky trading, too. Can't say no, won't say yes. It will continue as long as Kurt has the appetite for it, poor chap, or until the company folds. How many wish they had sold 12 months ago for 17p?
Why would Beowulf end their 23 page submission with a request that the Government engages in further consultation. The reason suggested by Granite (15.07) is an interesting thought and might suggest that Beowulf are not confident of an early positive decision. This seems to be is turning into a David Lynch suspense drama
