I also lost £20k in Sirius but sold at the offer price of 5.5p . Can I join any effort to recoup after the shambles by the BOD,s
Have many on here signed up to sharesoc? is it worth the £45 per year? do we think there is genuinely any hope of recouping our lost money? I sold at 5.44p (for a £44,000 loss) on 13/01/2020 rather than wait to receive the 5.50p that was on the table so just wanted to check that I will still be eligible even though I didn't hang on until the 5.50p takeover offer went through?
Really hoping there is some hope still of the BOD being held accountable and our losses rightfully returned to us!
I’m so sorry I missed this. Has it been recorded does anyone know?
Hello Harry,
Im so sorry only just seen your post. What I will do for everyone is get access to the webinar and post it for all those who didnt attend. Very interesting, we all deserve answers and hopefully a end result for all us 85,000 shareholders
Hello all Sirius Shareholders,
Hope you are all keeping well, is everyone attending the meeting at 5 webinar
"I put him in the same league as IBAB"
IBAB talked a lot of sense although he had two major flaws: excessive frequency of posting and, his biggest fault, he arrived far too late!
Just a quick reminder for those interested, we are hosting a webinar on Sirius Minerals. Agenda is around the post takeover review, lessons learned and next steps... The webinar is this coming Tuesday and more info can be found here: https://www.sharesoc.org/events/sharesoc-webinar-sirius-minerals-8-december-2020/
Archways you have definitely been through the mill but you appear to be positive, great news with GGP I hope it continues.
Hi Gertfrobe - yes, I am well thank you. I have had two CT scans and an ECG since March - my optician thought that I had had a mini-stroke, but it looks as though I only had a very small blood clot which caused a 30 second loss of vision in one eye, and on another occasion I bled for a few hours and my doctor suspected kidney or bladder cancer but again it looks as though I had had a blood clot so I am now taking some tablets. I have had three cancer episodes in the last ten years, all independent of each other (prostate, liver and lung) so it would not have been a surprise to learn that I had acquired another cancer - I seem to be susceptible to it - but apart from being a bit short of breath through having only one and a half lungs I am fine. Sorry about the lengthy report but you did ask, and it would have been easy to have said that I was okay, but that would not have been a fair summary of the past nine months.
I have more than recouped my loss in Sirius. I put the proceeds into Greatland Gold on 31st March at 4.58p, and they are now 32p. On 31st May some Greatland posters were giving us their share price targets for five years from then, so I said that at the age of 81 my target was just to live for another five years to see what Greatland could become. That remains my target!
I hope that you too are well.
Archways I can’t believe it’s been nine months hope you are well.
Hi Gertfrobe. A couple of posters discussed Aberfan on the Greatland Gold board this afternoon. One was involved in the reshaping of the tips and the other's father was involved with the rescue operation. I get the impression that their conversation will continue. I just wondered whether you might like to join in. You and I met at the final Sirius meeting in London.
Morning anyone who is still looking in here, if they were thinking of getting into OMI now would be about the best time, the shareprice has bottomed out and is starting to take off again, drilling results are due soon.
Once again DYOR etc etc GLA
Forseti , yes like me I have moved on but back of my mind I feel we all got conned , but I only put my spoke in once in awhile about it , i hope you make your money back on other shares , take care .
Jim.
I got burned bigtime on SXX but its gone, don't think there is anything you can do about it. I'm not in the sharesoc thingy as i think it will take years if anything comes of it, and i doubt that, who will you be claiming money back from .... ?
and no doubt there will be ongoing lawyers fees.
For me its all over, had to move on, I now hold AAL shares so still have a little bit.
Still keep checking in here though.
All the best.

well think about it there are 200 of the Sirius shareholders signed up with Sharesoc which is not many as Sirius was one of the biggest pi shareholders on the UK stock market outside the footsie 100 , to mind it had 80,000 shareholder who just about all got well screwed and the company knew exactly what they were going to do , some investors were near to a breakdown even reading some posts couldn`t even tell their wives they had lost the families life savings including their pension , it was a dirty move the ceo did and they knew what this was all about , pre planned the lot , then walked with a golden handshake , thank you very much , then the brown envelopes would have been buzzing about which would be in the same numbers thanks for taking all the shareholders money and letting Anglo America get it for rock bottom . i still feel bitter about this company
@BradSmith. Your Welcome. :-)
I think it may have now bottomed out and is on the up again ..... When it moves it moves fast ....
So DYOR etc etc.
We are hosting a webinar on Sirius Minerals on the 8th December to look at: Post takeover review, lessons learned and next steps.
May be of interest and can register here: https://www.sharesoc.org/events/sharesoc-webinar-sirius-minerals-8-december-2020/
Good post Numptypi. I’m surprised it’s only 10k in. The last I heard is it was doing almost 40 m per day. That must have dropped well off.
Forseti , thanks for posting the full story - many wouldn't!
I'm visiting here after seeing a new Solar Farm has been built iin South Africa and the article goes on at length about howw good they are for the school children, communities etc, blah blah blah!
Guess who it reminded me of? The guy who told us we should have been wary of him after his final placing, knowing he was taking us for fools! Born near Yeovil moved to Van Diemen's land as a child ..... the signs were there! And didn't he do well.
Good to see Fred is still chipper, haven't heard from Scotman since we folded, hope he is ok.
Might take a look at FB, buthow FB works defies logic for me. I hate it almost as much as CF , avoid 2 letters if there is an F amongst them is my new maxim.
I'll also look at OMI , and hope it turns into Oh! My! for you all one day.
Thanks for posting this numpty. An interesting read. Took me back to a time when I seemed to know more about the progress of the TBM and daily extraction rates than was probably healthy.
:)
Nice to reminise. I read somewhere dmc have been booted off the sbr shaft sinking job at woodsmith. Shame if true. I always fancied them for a jv way back.
Cheers LB
The story that I was sold on is progressing apace, albeit without me... but for the locals sake, I still want to see it succeed.

laallee - in October 2019 Scotman said that Danaman was AlanG.
Hello SXX survivors. I have just been doing a bit of reminiscing reading through the old posts. Such a shame it all went t i t s up. Talking about old faces- Who was the fella who kept harping on about Dana Petroleum and how many SXX shares he had. He was so bullish, I hope he did not take it too badly. Take care all and good luck.
