I got well and truly impaled on the spike of which I don't mind stating as it's the truth! However, topping up at low prices when I can is slowly bringing my average down here. Patience is key here IMO

I'm assuming you got impaled on the monster spike a few months back. There were some large buys last week or two going under the radar so hopefully a chance to recoop some of yoir loss soon. This share has a history of spikes so just be patient and top up during lulls if you can afford to i guess. Gl

dissapointed
Wed 17:34
really upset to see the lack of things that webis could have had in the pipeline upon a historic announcement that was wholly in their sector. Maybe something is up the sleeve, but they have kept investors very much in the dark which means they either have nothing, or bad PR, either of which isn't sitting good with me. on a large loss here, so hoping for an upturn asap.

still very excited here. price great value here again top class website fully established should generate a decent profit for the first time for the year ending june 18. then we have all the licences in the pocket ready to be exploited -as and when fixed odds betting becomes legal in us.will webis go it alone and create its own sportsbook . will jim mellon with very deep pockets take the company private at a significant premium to long suffering shareholders will all the medium sized bookmakers in the uk who recently had their profit significantly reduced due to changes in law regarding stakes placed on betting machines be monitoring this company as a decent acquisition. will casinos in the usa wanting to get in on the act of fixed odds betting be scanning our company also.somebody in the last week spent 31 grand on one tranche of shares effectively owning point .39 of the company outright an absolute bargain imo . whatever i know and say i assure you that particular shareholder knows more than me here so get involved here this week and hold for the outcome it will arrive dyor and open for constructive criticism ps dont forget the valuable racetrack that webis are closely involved with cal expo. roll on 5p friday

Quite sharp fall

on small turnover. Total cap is just over value put on one of the 34 gambling licences, but suspect that valuation was a bit of hype. Getting close to SP I might av down on (and suspect quite a few others)

so must have fair idea of outturn by now. Jim doesn't need to buy in the market and no-one is betting on a fat profit for last year. It seems they don't disclose the figures for months anyway so one way or other this looks like its in Purdah for now. So if there IS activity, would be a reasonable gamble to buy more, otherwise its a sleeper.

Can't seem to make a profit

WEB seems incapable of making a profit despite significant increase in revenue. It must be poorly managed?

or he is quite happy for the sp to go as low as possible and take the company private for next to nothing, bearing in mind he has over 60% of the shares already.?

There is another possibility. Big Jim may simply take the view that his co has built up a bunch of these licences which are prize assets. To the extent that this co is not making cash out of them, he may simply be sitting on them and waiting for the bids to come for them. It may not be what we tiddlers want but he can afford to take no notice of us. We will find out presumably in the next Annual Report. With the SP falling and no interest now, we have to take a view as to whether to average down and if so, when. Not why we invested here but happens a lot on AIM. Rare to make a quick killing.

I note the authorisation of off track wagering on horse races.

California seems to be moving in the right direction getting its house in order.

They will want to wait for California, which will be the catylist here imo, and that won’t be until end of this year by the looks of things now. That’s when deals will be struck I feel. Good to see some recovery tho, sold out couple weeks ago at a loss but still on sidelines looking in.

Looked back at RNS and it is clear the co (i.e Big Jim) wants a deal to utilise the licences. So far that has not happened and IMO, it needs to if the co is to add value. Will shortly be preping the Annual Report for 17/18. Let's hope the deal is far advanced and announced so it can be included even though outside the co's year end.

That article, or at least the tracker, actually predates PASPA - more likely it was last updated on the 17th.

Most likely it’s just a coincidence to be honest, as there’s no change in terms of what the article says about California; as most now know - takeover aside - California is much more significant than other states to Webis

Buy out price
31 Jul '18
Just under 400 million shares in issue. At least a dollar a share would be nice if a buy out were to take place but no one knows if the boss is even thinking of selling. I remember very large after hours trades for 3 weeks running not so long ago in the spring so something seems destined to happen
