East: I think we're on the way, touch wood. The "Update" RNS of 11 April is, IMO, very helpful on the two things we probably all most want. I'm hanging on to that.

"Update

Financing

Vast Resources plc, the AIM-listed mining company, wishes to update the market on advances in its financing since the update announced on 12 February 2019 and following the 5 April announcement of its restructuring proposal together with confirmation of its ongoing strategy.

The Company is now expecting term sheets from financial institutions for loan finance to bring Baita Plai into production and to provide working capital for the group.
The Company has now advanced discussions with a potential cornerstone equity investor to the extent that the investor has now expressed a definite interest to proceed in principle.
The interest of both the financial institutions and the potential cornerstone investor is conditional on the passing of the resolution by Shareholders on 23 April 2019 to approve the restructuring which will be effected by the sale of the Company's interest in Pickstone Peerless Gold Mine and other gold assets in Zimbabwe. The interest is also dependent upon completion of due diligence and the signing and completion of definitive legal agreements.

Heritage Concession

The Company is pleased to announce that following the announcement of 14 February 2019 concerning the right to mine diamonds on the Heritage Concession the preparation of the joint venture agreement between the Company and the Chiadzwa Community Development Trust has now reached the form of an advanced draft. Following the signature of the joint venture agreement, operations at the Heritage Concession are able to commence on the ground immediately."

East: there was. It was the sale of all other Zim assets, which executed upon the positive vote, as reported in the RNS of meeting outcome.

As for finance, that comes down to term sheets and the discussions that follow. I suspect this is ongoing.

Pepco: my current approach is basically down to two things: learning from past mistakes and, fortunately, having got hold of a modest pot of cash to put somewhere at just the moment that Vast's plans are (hopefully) coming together. I want to get this opportunity right!

Sandy. I envy your patience, I just top up whenever I can. Probably yours is the best way though, at least from the point of view risk/reward.

I believe that there are plenty of potential investors in the same situation than you, waiting for certain news that will confirm, for them, that VAST is in the right path.

Funding + Marange contract

These are currently also my next top two criteria for buying. However I'm pondering the merits of speculatively pre-empting the news, as I have no doubt about finance and minimal doubt about the Marange contract.

Fantasy - think that’s a fair post. I agree with what many on here are saying about needing to get funding sorted for this to rerate.

Wow, on reflection, my 9:03 looks like an overt deramp. What I meant was .....I hope they don't look back to your last post when things get better and everyone becomes naturally positive.

...it's a good thing I looked back 5 mins later!

IDMOR - fundamentals will eventually take over... remember, from 0.7p to 015p? What caused that? Fundamentals..

If AP delivers what he has been talking about, SP will take care of itself.. People's sentiment will change.. and so will the SP.

Good luck.

To see real SP appreciation we need IMO

1. News of the funding
2. Official confirmation of the award of a licence to mine Maranage & confirmation that Red Mercury have signed the agreement
3. Honest transparent published plans & timescales for BP & Maranage operations to commence, with realistic production scale up forecasts
4. RNS revenue & profit forecasts associated with the production scale up
5. The above being picked up by journalists in publications like Investor’s Chronicle; The Times; The Telegraph & the Daily Mail so the positive investment that VAST will surely represent comes to the attention of the widest possible audience of investors looking for solid dividend paying companies, rather than knowledge of VAST being restricted to sites like LSE which are inhabited in the main by short term traders looking for quick gains, not solid income generators as part of a pension

IDMOR - Although I agree with your points concerning peoples perceptions of the fundementals, and also your solution for getting a greater perception amongst new viewers. I have to admit there is a major flaw in the following:

"Let's give them a good reason to!!".

Suppose everyone starts posting positives, all it takes is to scroll back to your last post and they will then discover that the positivity is somewhat manufactured ;)

IDMOR: thanks for the kind words - "great independent thinking poster" is as good as I could wish for.

I was delighted that the BPPM licence was finally resolved in October but, whereas many on the this BB expected a rise out of the 0.6s (where it had broadly sat for a year), with not unreasonable expectations of 0.7s and 0.8s, what we saw was the sell-off. I was enormously frustrated by that and - as I'm here to make money or at least salvage capital - I exited for one of the few times since I first bought in. (Another time was Bracknor.)

My decision to sell then had nothing to do with Andrew (who had just secured BPPM) but with the market response. And I am very pleased with the current change of strategy he's leading.

But I have had criticisms to make in the past about Andrew and/or the BoD, or Roy Pitchford. When I first met Andrew, I had just been criticizing him on this BB in connection with comments about BPPM.

As for individual posters, I have not always seen eye to eye with Lee and Castaway but they are well-researched posters who have made a lot of effort on behalf of shareholders. We have our agreements and our differences; and in October I had wondered if they were selling.

But I find the particular vein of comment that V111 has gone for to be outlandish: no one has to give Lee their details. When I contacted him off-site it proved helpful.

I hope this clears up your query but let me know if I can clarify further.

At the end of the day I believe that prices do not move based on fundamentals, but move on the perception of fundamentals. You will see so many stocks that have nothing and the SP doubles, triples, ten or twenty bags on nothing special. It's what each individual perceves the results to be, or what how healthy the company is. Get a boat full of these positively perceiving people and collectively you get a pouring in of investment hence massive rises.

So, I think if we all really want to give this company the best chance of 10 bagging or more or even just to our Break even levels, then it's in our collective interest of everyone invested to say positives about this comapny. New investors will be watching and will want to be putting money somewhere. Let's give them a good reason to!!

No i think Sandy is a great independely thinking poster. Just wanted sandy to clarify nothing more in my post, as i'm surprised in his post. I not going to get into some battle because i just don't have time for tennis. There is obviously going to be mistrust toward Lee and Castaway because they are extra ordinarily helpful. Which can be seen differently by some, but at the end of the day individuals choose to invest or not. I made my decision 4 years ago.

I wish i could just ask AP why this restructure was not done the day he entered office. He knew that issues were there but I feel that he kicked the can down the road and hoped to get a funder by chance. i feel there may have been too much larger shareholder pressure to just keep getting the SP up and it blew up. That's my only issue with AP, but i'm not going to dwell on this as the past is the past. Things seem to have changed. The ceo and the board have done a satisfactory job in my mind to recover this to where we are now. Onwards we go...
There are a lot of dereamper here at the moment and they seem to be picking at every small thing.

This is all in my opinion..

100% right Angus, and as we’ve directly chatted elsewhere (hint a little birdie), it’s blatantly obvious some of the major cheerleaders have used that knowledge to sell & buy back at the lower price in the placing. Whilst aggressively protesting that talk of a placing was destabilising deramping, just the day before announcement of a placing which they were clearly participating in, obviously motivated by wanting to keep the SP as high as possible to get the best price for their sell

IDMOR I’ve looked back at SS’s posts & note the 180 degree change from last year. Maybe it’s just because SS is so sophisticated & the rest of us are unwashed proles? Or what looks much more feasible SS is part of a deramp/ramp crew. Unfortunately only successful with the deramp part

I wholeheartedly agree Carrefour, but sadly most people who are on these types of bulletin boards aren’t altruistic & are only concerned about personally making money. Therefore IMO everyone’s comments (including mine) have to be treated with scepticism. That’s why I would always leave the “opinion “ box as no opinion. I make my decisions based on regulated news, which hopefully is accurate & honest, albeit often with a knife edge spin

Sandy, did you not have the same paranoia when the SP tanked after BPPM licence news released? Only last week you made the point to one poster that your issue was never with the ceo. So now it's not the ceo or was never specific members on this board?
Just confused with you your issue was with when bppm licence news was released?
