Slippery geoff
Mon 08:53
He left as non exec director last year so the only thing that really surprises me is he hasn't taken his money out earlier. I'm not worried by it as he doesnt have a role with the businesses anymore and in all likelihood he's just doing the smart thing amd guaranteeing he has cash in the bank so he never has to work again. I'd do exactly the same even if it meant i took less than what i could have got a few years ago.

I would be surprised if some Private Equity houses weren’t interested. Typically they would look to strip-out lots of costs and sweat the customer-base as much as possible (as quickly as possible). Interesting to see yesterday’s news re LDC / Love Energy Savings. £25m deal.

True but if the shareholders decide its a good deal then it doesn’t really matter what Management think.

This is so bombed out, that almost any bid above the current sp has a chance of success. And it is hard to see why any buyer would be remotely interested in either what the present management team thought or, for that matter in retaining them. It is not as if they have achieved anything. So no cosy option deal. The only problem is that it is hard to see why anyone would want to buy UTW...

And how many times have you seen an acquisition supported by management if there's not something in it for them?

Not true. It’s down to acquiring company to decide.

Options usually vest on acquisition. I.e. mgt would get their payday if the acquisition price was within the range at which they qualify for their performance options

Management. Is there any hope this company may be bought by a competitor and if so who ?

Rough ride ahead
7 Sep '18
I think it's going to be a rough ride ahead especially over the next 6 months. Having taken a massive hit getting all the bad news out of the way they really need to put in a shift over the next 6 months to show they can gain some momentum in the right direction otherwise those optimistic forecasts and going to look like even bigger bull**** than they currently do. There's only so long they can keep carting out the same lame excuses and the shareprice is being punished accordingly. Surely having set those option targets they.must believe they can turn it around otherwise that team would have just left right? Not sure i have much confidence in them to be honest. Sort of hope a competitor acquires them at 75p so they get their options vested. Wouldn't at all be surprised if this is their real plan.

2021 targets
4 Sep '18
2021 targets looking like a complete joke to me.
They are not going to get anywhere near them at this rate.
Growth in the corporate side is laughable considering their IOT offering is a new product that should theoretically grow at a rapid pace if its going to be a game changer.
All in all, very disappointing, and yet more of the Flattery flannel does little to convince me otherwise.

Most Analysts have been Under Review or N/A for the past 12 months at last a Broker who is sticking their neck out on the price target but nothing new in content...

Utilitywise plc | Negative numbers for 2H18 UTW-AIM 28p | Buy | Target Price: 100p
Canaccord Genuity Limited (UK) |
Utilitywise has announced some fairly negative numbers for its 2H18 (FY ends July), due largely to the knock-on impacts of the stable-cleaning exercise it did in 2017. Critically new auditors, PwC, are still reviewing revenue recognition in light of IFRS15 with a "further update in due course." Positive is that net debt has stabilised and is falling slightly

I wouldn't be surprised if the next revision on revenue recognition is 'net positive' now the share options are in place - The cynic in me !!

RE: 25 percent or 252 percent rise in E

That’s just Corporate Division. Their numbers have been pretty weak historically so an increase of 252% is relative. Enterprise Division contributed 80% of revenue in FY17 with Corporate only contributing 20% (approx).

RE: update shows as oversold

The equation of £55m for Order Book less debt is wrong. Order book is gross value. You can only assume the margin achievable on the £55m less debt.

update shows as oversold
4 Sep '18
as the kitchen sink was thrown in to date, with a market cap of just 22mll but order book of 55mll less debt of 17mll must show as oversold.
client numbers are up, new revenue streams, enterprise profits returning to decent numbers,go live numbers are up and debt is reduced.
got to now be worth 60p+ for these reasons alone.

25 percent or 252 percent rise in E
4 Sep '18
The RNS says 252 percent rise in EBITA .. I suspect this is A typo and meant 25 percent as mentioned in next paragraph.

Might expect a correction RNS .. or am I missing something

Long and Winding Road
4 Sep '18
For those who have followed this for some time you will know the bad news has been out there for months - The good news is the Corporate division is doing well and they are stabilising the Enterprise division. I fully expect the Final figures to be poor and maybe 'kitchen sink' all the rubbish if there is any left - 2018/9 should be the first year of turnaround - I expect the second year of turnaround to be when the share price is north of £1 so in my view all good for long term value hunters !!

Hi time to put this to bed.
we have had big users where we have identified previous Excessive margins on current deals form new clients ..in effect blatantly ripping them off, but even then it was hard for our client (after taking legal advise) to prove misselling). This is because unless you have an agreement which states the TPI will only charge X and they have actually charged Y then it is very hard job to take legal...remember ethical and moral values don't come into it.
A TPI shouldn't be taking advantage with high fees, but having that classed as breaking the law and as a valid legal basis to claim is unfortunately not the same thing. Remember the majority of users think they are getting a Free or No charge Service any and the loa wont likely state margins (as there is no DIRECT charge to them), so it is really remains a case of buyer beware if they sign upto what is presented to them.
