Hi Owls
I'm still hoping for 214 before 06/06/29 - one can but hope! Looks like Isa Plan on hold and just pick up Divi.
Hi Wigan
Industries now told to build stocks again, and new ferry companies being set up. What a shambles!
Trouble is there will be no recovery now until No Deal Brexit is ruled out. Who knows how long that will take? And, of course it is costing £ Mns (at least 325 per week) in the meantime.
The System has collapsed (not collapsing), every cloud...? Something has to replace this rubbish.

Owls

So when sp was 165.8p on Thursday TomE said he expected a rise upto the ex-dividend day. Now the price was 165.8p when he posted, do you or do you not expect the sp to be higher at that time ?. I'm not sure how long TomE has been in these shares but I have been in since 2014. Done lots of buys and sells and collected many thousands in dividends.

JOHNSON,
Do you have any evidence to support this?
Last year the day before ex div day the price was £1.98, 2 weeks earlier it was £1.99.

The Logic is because that is what normally happens. SP rise towards their dividend dates especially if it's a big one.

Hi Tom, what is the logic in expecting a rise in the SP up to the special ex date of 6th June?

Wigs Hi,

As a long term holder I am expecting over £16 k special divi, and I am not selling any shares at a lower limit, so at the current SP of 1.66 and a loss of approx £38k a £16k cash amount is about a 50% of that loss just. I will be expecting a rise in the SP up to the special Ex date 6th June anyway. It does not matter if the SP drops after the divi daet as I am not selling any. I am not worried about the Tax as I have already allowed the additional cash into my tax calculations and I am already paying Tax per month to cover it by reduced pension payments. I do this every year to avoid a bill. It works for me.

Cheers

Tom :-))))

Hi Tom. Respectfully, not sure how calculate that the special dividend will reduce your current loss by 50%. All things being equal your cash account will increase by the dividend, and your share account will fall by the value of the dividend. You will also attract a tax obligation for the dividend, so you are actually worse off.

Hi Tom,
Good idea to get away from the screen - too much going on lately.
The old boots are at the ready for a hike tomorrow, hopefully along with our SP.

Troubles Hi,

At lest we have another nice divi coming 6th June at .107 that will reduce my fall by about 50% so not that worried, but a fall to 1.20 would indeed give me the gitters for sure lol.

Nice day for them thar hills, get the boots out.

Well we hit 1.30 when the threat of a 'no deal' was at its greatest, so after divi why not 1.20 ?
Have already bought more at 1.79.
Considering selling those to buy back later - don't want to add any more ATM.

Well I am very pleased that I did not reinvest my Divi cash here but with GGP that have held up well. If I had bought here I would have lost 7% at today's price.

Not very please ATM as down approx £38k here due to this fall. Glad I am not in PSN or BDEV or that loss would be a lot greater.

I sincerely hope we do not see 1.50 :-(((
