Works a treat!

They should use pink with glitter, it would appeal to children so they then enjoy pointing out bargains to Dad and Mum. Waste of money contesting the decision. JJ
They're appealing it. Doubt there will be much change imminently.

I think that it was the "Every Lidl helps" that gave it away :-) Sorry, but what a joke! So you can't use a yellow circle for anything because Lidl own it. You must be joking!
Anyway, Lidl stole their logo off Dell. Both have components that appear to be falling over. Just like my Dell laptop!
Try this

Fird. Just type into Google. Tesco share price dividend max. This works for almost every single share UK US ASIA etc.
go to Tesco Investors site and you will see all the info there. Its always worth going to such sites for any of your other shareholdings.. good luck JJ
Please let me know amount of final div, ex-div date and when payable.
Thank you.
The dividend yield is approx 4%
The Bank of England base rate is 4.25%
The nearest Tesco bond I can find (2029 maturity) has a running yield of 5.6% which is indicative of level they can borrow in market.
I think it's pretty clear that the dividend yield is lower than the yield they would pay to borrow money.
I still like TSCO but have reduced my holding by around 25% yesterday above 270 and will sell more in the 290-300 zone (prob another 25%). These are ones I added 200-225 though so really just trading a bit with a core long holding.
Well that's a stupid question barchid, don't you think?
If all members only ever posted "correct" content and never questioned anything, then we would not need this discussion board. The only good thing we would not need to read your worthless posts.
Avocet
If you are not sure your post is correct why on earth did you bother to post it ?

solid results
The buyback do save a chunk of dividend. I dont know what interest they are paying on their borrowings, but I suspect the dividend is more, so the dividend saved on the bought back shares is more than the debt servicing.
Not sure if that's correct.
88 - Yes nice PA broke out of a falling wedge if we see a weekly/monthly price close above 272 the initial price target becomes 295 in the short to near term. IMOO DYOR
SP recoverved well since october...happy days ..some profit taken.....gla.
Ref 0738 - agreed, negative public reaction and perception to what is deemed excess profit is something that really hurts this business give it's level of competition and predominantly UK-based business.
Not akin to say a BP. that can squeeze every last £ out of its profits due to its global reach and lack of competitors.
I feel this is the reason TSCO prefer to put away some profit in buybacks and the like.
I'd disagree with the led rather than leading statement there, most other retailers are scrambling to set up members-only discounts well after TSCO, SBRY being the latest to launch an initiative.
On the whole less innovative? I'd go yes but it's rapidly becoming a very crowded market.
A tough challenge for any supermarket in the current environment and a reasonable set of results considering everything that has been thrown at them. Tesco has lost its dominance in the supermarket space as the industry matures. It is no longer as innovative as it used to be and is now more led than leading.
Yes the cash generation is pretty good at 2.3bn. If margins/profit increases too much they get accused of profiteering, yet the company only makes 1.5% pat as a percent of sales.
Increased competition may actually be leading to weaker margins and increased prices for consumers as buying power is split between more retailers. The share buy backs haven't worked, borrowing hasn't reduced significantly and gross finance costs are 647m and may increase as interest rates go up.
There's a heavy one-off non cash impairment charge in there.
Operationally they look very strong.
The blurp talks of excellent performance but the figures tell a different story.
Results day in a couple of hours, could see some interesting share price movement.
Unfortunately, Inflation is causing disruption in lots of sectors.
Broadband charges, Telephone bills, Council Taxes, Heating , Lighting are all causing
despair amongst the UK population.
Tesco is trying to streamline its offering ( Re: Clubcard benefits reduced )
