Not surprised about the insurance capacity and pricing issues, in view of my own personal experience. However, it's a shame they don't highlight in the trading statement the fact that they still expect to make approaching £2m adjusted profit this year. The question is, when will that be reflected in the share price?
Allenby write "Hence, although we are reducing our FY24 revenue forecast, profits remain unchanged.
We maintain our 38p/share fair value, equivalent to 3.9x FY24 EV/EBITDA."
That did not read well (will re-read) - think KBYK made the right call
AGM and Captial Markets Day annouced - circa 4 weeks time. Not sure the last CMD was effective but does make me think Trakm8 must be doing ok as they stopped AGM timed presentations in 2018 (correct me if wrong), so resuming them must be a good sign.
Managed to renew car insurance recently with only a 15% increase on last year, after shopping around. Quickly looked at telematics policies, but they were ridiculously expensive. Perhaps they only work well for younger drivers.
Interesting point made in this article about telematics policies
https://www.theguardian.com/money/2023/jul/22/uk-drivers-car-insurance-costs-price-petrol-diesel
"The average car insurance quote increased by 34% in the year to May, according to the market research firm Consumer Intelligence. It says a typical policy now costs £2,145 for under-25s, £850 for the 25-to-49 age group, and £568 for over-50s. In bad news for new drivers, there are also fewer of the telematics policies (where a black box or smartphone app measures how you drive) that are usually a cheaper option."

Never say never
Anyway time for some toast with a big spread of jam tomorrow for me
This time next year lol ....God give me strength
Believe me, Pianista, despite some tax relief, I've lost a lot of money here (so far) and I haven't swallowed it very well. My hope is to make back the losses elsewhere.- some far my choices have paid off. However, long-term we'll see if it was the right decision or not.
KBYK – glad to hear you got your losses allowed against tax, which does soften the blow.
All my losses are in my Isa, which isn’t very clever!
To clarify. I know the numbers regarding the losses, but not off the top of my head. They were crystallised over various points in time and off-set against tax, during various bed and isa moves.
Don't want to give the wrongful impression that anything untoward is going on.
Thanks Pianista!
I was here between 2013 and 2023. 10 long years., so long that I can't actually quantify the loss. However, it was also in ISAs so I merely moved it - slowly, from here to 2 other shares. At the moment, the money is now about the equivalent of about realising 25p here (I entirely sold out of here, over time, at an average of 20p). Not an amazing gain, so far, but better than it just sitting here. Typically, the SP is now on the move upwards (you're all welcome) and then there is the possibility Trak gets taken out. Still, I will stay where I am for now and keep an eye on what's happening here. If what I'm hoping happens elsewhere, happens, some profits will come back here. I doubt however I'll ever hold here in the kind of amounts I did previously.
I do believe it will eventually come good for those who have more patience than I. And as stated previously, if what I've bought into gets to where I believe will, I'll be back.
In the meantime, I wish you (all) luck!
KBYK
Three trades all sales and the share price goes up
Am I putting 2 and 2 together coming up with 5
?????
KBYK - I can’t blame you for bailing out: it’s been such a long slow haul…..and we must all have wondered from time to time whether we should hang around or cut our losses.
However, the company is now reaping the rewards of its change in strategy. There may be further bumps in the road, of course, but it’s nevertheless hard to see anything getting in the way of a decent result this year - one that will at least be enough to finally drag the SP off the bottom. So at the current price of 17.8p to buy, it should be a good bet, if you're still interested...

Reckon you may be in the right ball park. Yes, they have told us it is coming (well, they are confident of it) but why H2 and not earlier? As I posted before, sounds like a major trial is happening and I guess contracts take time to be drawn up. Makes me think it is an existing client and this is an add-on, hence the confidence.....
How major is major???
I would say £1m plus contract
Note they have told us it is coming
I wonder .......
Hi KBYK
Very jealous not to be on a beach at the moment :o). Good luck with the share trading........I'll probably be here until the bitter end so may see you back at some point.
DC2
I sold out of this a little while back ( I put the money where I saw more short-term value and may be back).
I don't normally comment on a share after I've sold, but I feel an affinity with some here. I just wanted to congratulate you on the SP rise, recently. I saw the update - sounded a little like Jam tomorrow, but also promising for those who keep the faith... I wish you luck (from a beach in Thailand, currently).

Agreed about the incentive but..... 38p is the broker fair price, so they don't have to do much if the broker is correct.
I didn't know penny s was still a non ex director
Those options are nice
They all ha e plenty of reasons to see the share price do well
Broker note is at https://wp-allenby-2020.s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/media/2023/07/20230704-Trakm8-Holdings-plc-TRAK.L-Allenby-Capital-Finals.pdf?c3757=on - was updated on the 4th. Doesn't really say much and keeps forecast/fair price the same (38p). Debt at the end of the year seems significantly down so that is a positive (if I read that correctly).
It was good to see some upwards direction but would have been great for a director to buy. Guess we have to wait until the next update zzzZZZ zzzZZZ
Any more thoughts now the dust is starting to settle ??
Broker update??
I was going to put my money where my mouth is this morning, and buy another 25,000 @16p. Of course, it's beaten me to it, and jumped up to 17.7p to buy. I'll keep my powder dry for the moment....
One assumes they must have a signifcant trial on to be confident of getting a software contract over the line in H2. Shame about the reduction in fleet (everyone else apperars to be increasing their fleet numbers). And yes, there is always something throwing a spanner in the works.
