At what price do those invested here think this is worth adding to their positions? I'm not currently invested here (but almost bought at 200p a while back!) So I'm looking for a safe entry price on the assumption that oil will eventually recover, and that this firm's quality products will be valued when that happens. If I could get in at 25p, I think Thalassa would absolutely be worth the punt...
riddler...can't see this turning unless oil bounces convincingly and Russia comes in from the cold
I see I've been beaten to the comments regarding Dunc's canny trading and his booming property portfolio. I actually googled him earlier today and found all kinds of articles on page 1 of the search...I'll leave that for others to do themselves rather than commenting further. With the cash burn, awful outlook and (what appears to be) self interested management, it's quite a compelling short. I don't yet have expertise to do so, but think it all looks quite bleak
yes...he cannot win (Kaiser Bill and Adolf at least had a shot at global domination)...I guess he is not interested in more than asserting Russia's power over the near abroad, and expects the West to blink as Chamberlain did over Czechoslovakia: Ukraine (esp E Ukraine) is a quarrel in a far away country between people of whom we know nothing ...he may be right (and ironically cos of Merkel's lack of enthusiasm for confrontation)
Proud pyscho indeed. He is more likely to wage full on war than to bow down to the west. He has boxed himself into a corner. THAL may be a good long term punt but with politics how they are and the cash burn you mentioned it looks like there may be a cash call at some point in 2015.
proud psycho more like...Hannibal Lecter with nukes ..Dunc pocketed plenty in his share sale(?s)...interesting to see whether he ever re-invests (I shd have waited for him lol)
1) A possibility of new deals, maybe if the price of oil gets shored up. 2) Do you think Putin will bow down to the west even when the current sanctions are costing him 140Bn/year.I would have thought not. The bloke is a proud nutter. 3) Dunc may buy some shares. Maybe….he most likely will be able to afford it with the rent received from his property as new HQ.
they allowed their success and cash raised last year to lose discipline...they dropped their guard ...the grand new HQ...but more importantly the free spending on whatever, the EBT...the cash drain is acute now (I had thought they would have tightened their belts since mid 2014..but no lol) ...and with little visibility over where the cash profits are coming from, the sp may be in for a v tough time ...so waiting for ....1. great contract news ... 2. Putin seeing sense (seems unlikely: his sense is distorted by untrammeled power..the democrats are yet again struggling to keep up cf 1914 and 1930s) .. or 3. Dunc buying several million shares (from his well judged flip out lol) ...I may be waiting a Jolly long time
Eastleigh Court is becoming a bunker as the Board dig in to resist shareholders criticism.
US$6m in less than 5 months...what on??
the cashburn in less than 5 months is terrifying
they still have $15mill so getting close to MC.
Yup, things not going well for poor old THAL at the moment. Pity they seem so reliant on Russia's business.
on bounce in wti and increased holding ...good for bounce here, I hope
With such a material stake theybshould know
to reduced frontier exploration spend?
Not sure I'd buy this just yet, the chart isn't showing any real signs of turning and the sector seems to be out of favour at the moment.
Interesting one this, the property deal smells bad but its not going to break the finances at all...its small beer really - more a warning of bad behavior by the management... And those massive sells ...somethings got to be wrong some where - i will be watching with interest..
Been watching this for a while and it seems we saw bottom of 69p. Got in yesterday. Holding in coy RNS today.
like ntq, gtc...oil service companies in the firing line
to buy substantial shares back with his monster profit from crafty sale?
RNS cleared up the HQ issue: £12 per sq ft without maintenance or refurb costs looks a great deal.Even liquidated Thal worth more than current price( cash & valuable physical assets) yet in the med/ long term it should offer good growth prospects: after all oil explorers hsve to explore! They play the long game.If or more likely when Russian EU sanctions ease it should move back towards £1.20 at the very least...a jolly nice bounce
Nice Jolly Bounce
Let's see if THAL can descend a little further first.
EV of £5-8m..say c US$10m ..seems cheapish ...could go close to net cash/EV of zero (or lower of course)...but would be decent punt down there
