Crude, my handle arose from a particular exigency (16 years ago this month as you might guess from the digits) but while it was originally designed to throw away, I have grown quite fond of it. I consider it as two fingers to all those who think a couple of anonymous ramblings on the internet make you part of a "community". It conveys no more or less of myself than would iLuvKittens (actually, I don't) or TheRealDaniilTrifonov (I'm not). I've no intention of being personal or engaging, I've already filtered some of the posters who fancy themselves as such. I intend to keep track of genuine information about the company some of us are invested in. Of course, I appreciate that you have made yourself known by your real name and have a personal acquaintance with some of the posters. Good for you, nothing wrong with that. Since you're so "intrigued" about the person behind the handle, I work full time for charity, and my top hobbies are dabbling in astrophysics, software, and playing the piano really, really badly. And now back to the share discussion ...
Like Shedulike says it's not the failed drills that I blame the BOD for. It's the misleading statements, missed timelines, sudden changes of plan and CIP divestment at the same time as JP's trading plan was announced that doesn't sit well with me.
I just hope they are marketing the assets with a view to selling and this isn't just a delaying tactic. This 'pause while marketing' could be to allow them more time to fully interpret the seismic and other data to come up with another theory of where to drill next.
I understand what you are saying Davey Sanchez. There are several factors (Horst value being the main one) that give me some comfort. But we really won’t know until we get an RNS. Definitely a period of unknown.
Ps200306, what intrigues me is...how on earth & what possesed you to have a name like ps (etc & so on)...it couldn't be less personal or engaging! When I was thinking of a name or handle to use years ago when I started trading I wanted 'Crude'...I think someone else had it but then I thought...'Crudehope'...hoping for crude...lots of it. Especially when I was investing in BPC & other oily holefulls! What's in a name? Cant fathom yours but each to their own I guess. No harm meant, just intrigued. But then again many personalised number plates leave one none the wiser as to what was meant..no ambiguity with mine: 'Sound Energy PLC - SUPER GAS'...I like to think the message is prety clear & unambiguous..............
On the subject of criticising the Directors / de-ramping it simply isn't necessarily the same thing. I've got heaps of these and a decent LE should see me out with a profit so I have a vested interest in LE success, however anything I have to say here will have absolutely no bearing on what we might get. I don't blame the Directors for failing to unlock more commercial gas in tough geology but I am disgusted at the wage inflation when clearly they feared options not being hit. I wonder how many thousands of small Ltd companies turning a profit across this country have less well remunerated Directors than our bunch. Realistic success at LE will be a form of vindication, we'll see.
Call me a deramper, but with no news likely until "THE" news, and that probably not till autumn, I'd expect the share price to drift a bit. I hereby declare my unscrupulous intention to buy a million of these suckers as soon as they go below 10p. And I also declare my unscrupulous intention to bite anyone's hand off for the 50p I will then need to break even.
The thing is Jobb, u don't know that. Thing thing was said at 90p all the way down to 10p. Only time will tell.
What I find strange is that sub 20pps is still a great opportunity. 75pps would be good and is certainly possible (IMO) but it is hard for people to do understand what we have “potentially” when the SP is 10.4p.
Mania is definitely the right word.
Agree PoEun.
Longwait, surely everyone has a reason for their actions. Why do people go out of their way to lay in to failing Companies. Surely it is to debase sentiment to such an extent that they can buy in at ridiculously low price and await the recovery. Every action has a cause. I’m sure that people don’t just sit around on these bb’s ****ging off directors if they weren’t trying to make some kind of financial gain from it. After all, that’s why we are all here....to make money.
I share your sentiments entirely, but I don't think anyone has an agenda.
I just think there is a mania on AIM for shooting down companies whose share prices have collapsed.
I've seen it with HUR, JOG, PVR, FOG.
As soon as things go wrong, there are posts about the directors' alleged dishonesty and incompetence.
Of course, in some cases it is true, but the accusations seem to be universal, like a kind of revenge.
It seems as though more and more posters are very keen on trying to persuade the board that the Company or Tendrara is virtually worthless and that 10p per share would be an acceptable offer. I can’t help but feel that we re being manipulated into believing that Sound has no value. The GRH/250 episode just shows how duplicitous some posters can be. The POTENTIAL here is still huge. 20tcf is a mind boggling amount of gas for Moroccoand the basin model is still valid . I personally wouldn’t be happy with anything under 75p. We’ve been through too much heartache to walk away without a decent profit after all these years. I’m sure those spouting sub 20pps have different agendas. We should be talking the sale price up rather than allowing it to be manipulated down.
