Coal IPP Procurement Programme about to kick off By Jackie Midlane and Coldron Denichaud on June 26, 2014 Posted in Banking "After numerous press releases about the impending release of the Coal Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (CIPPPP), the Department of Energy (DoE) released a formal request for compulsory registration for new generation capacity under the CIPPPP on 25 June 2014. Developers who wish to take part in this programme must register if they wish to submit bid responses once the Request for Qualification and Proposals is released. The Request for Registration is available at www.ipp-coal.co.za." "Following the issue by the DoE of the Request for Registration, we await the quantum leap to be made by the DoE in issuing the Request for Qualification and Proposals…now it’s not about “if” but rather “when”?" TFR sees Swazi link, Shongololo raising coal export capacity to 120mt/y By: Terence Creamer 30th June 2014 Updated 33 minutes ago "Meanwhile, Transnet confirmed that the project to export coal from the Port of East London had stalled, owing to financial difficulties at Elitheni Coal, which was currently in business rescue. Transnet Port Terminal’s Karl Socikwa reported that it was in discussions with manganese miners, which had expressed and interest in using East London as a temporary export hub ahead of the development of a large-scale manganese terminal at the Port of Ngqura, near Port Elizabeth." Would have expected an update by now if the GM took place. Bad times :O(
I haven't a clue. But the GM has started and doubtful if anyone went. Should be bog standard procedure. Maybe we'll get a RNS with "All resolutions passed" and hopefully some kind of update. One thing that I would like to point out is that a new Nomad has to be seen doing "Due Diligence". Maybe this is why we haven't heard about it yet.
Hi Substp you seem well up to speed on whats going on over there. How do you see this working out - do you think they'll get the nomad and financing sorted?
Sorry Mav That article was taken from: "ECDC: Statement by the Eastern Cape Development Corporation, Construction sector could boost province’s performance in 2014 (30/01/2014)" http://www.polity.org.za/article/ecdc-statement-by-the-eastern-cape-development-corporation-construction-sector-could-boost-provinces-performance-in-2014-30012014-2014-01-30
State of the Province Address delivered by Honourable Premier of the Eastern Cape Mr Phumulo Masualle, 27 June 2014 "The Special Economic Zones (SEZ) legislation has been finalized. Amongst others, this legislation proposes new funding mechanisms for the SEZs and makes provision for the transformation of the existing IDZs into SEZs. The approval of two new special economic zones in the Province, namely the Wild Coast SEZ and Chris Hani SEZ, is due and these will largely focus on agro-processing." "We have also noted with appreciation, the national support to be provided to municipalities in the Province in areas of infrastructure development and administration capacity. These municipalities are Amathole, OR Tambo, Alfred Nzo, Mbizana, Ntabankulu, Lukhanji and Mbhashe." Http://www.ecprov.gov.za/State%20of%20the%20Province%20Address%20-%2027%20June%202014.pdf I may add that the Chris Hani SEZ was to include an IPP Power Plant....
just hoping they will trade again!
Yeh, its annoying not to know! I guess though, if is any good news best to keep it for when trading again... to help price rise:/
not on bad news fridays! had TRP and then SNRP two consecutive weeks! would like to see new nomad appointed next week then big news on strategic partners and fundings chukc in a new 80p broker target on the back of it and happy days!
is your feel on this that it is all hapng up to turn out for the best on this one - i sort of have that feeling??
And he was at the Elitheni Blast Ceremony (2 years ago?).... Http://www.elitheni.co.za/admin/resources/hon-mec-for-ec-econ-dev-jonas-mncebisi-w800h800.jpg
I guess most on here wouldn't know about Mr. Jonas. He was The Eastern Capes MEC for Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism until he was picked for the position of Deputy Minister of Finance of SA by President Zuma about a month ago ..... :-) Http://www.treasury.gov.za/ministry/deputy%20minister.aspx
Hmmmmmmmm Statement on the Cabinet Meeting of 25 June 2014 4.2. Board of the Public Investment Corporation a) Mr Mcebisi Hubert Jonas, as non-executive director and Chairperson (during his term as the Deputy Minister of Finance); and Http://www.gov.za/speeches/view.php?sid=46300 "Isibaya is a division of the PIC that invests in commercially viable South African based projects that have strong, positive developmental impact. It is targeted at providing finance for projects that support the long-term economic, social and environmental growth of South Africa." Http://www.pic.gov.za/index.php/investments/isibaya/
Are they still holding the GM Mon.?
If we get out of this and funding resolves where do people see the SP going?
may be a good shout - cover the tolling stock with an interest in the operation either way if we can get a few bits sorted and a nomad i think we'd be in double figures quite quickly
Or part of it to Thelo.... IMO... :-)
we get out of supsnesion i would imagine we would rise quite quickly as things get sorted the BEE should fund us and take a 40% stake allowing us access to grants that would get us moving broker target 40p if we can get back on track
... if this does get funding, carries on etc, what is the expected output of coal and length of times til they can start.../ up production...
Fell free not to accept what I post. I'm sure you won't be here much longer. I didn't see Rapitrade as a hostole takeover either.
Re-read what I actually wrote. Before I go wasting my time time digging out web links for this info can we have some EVIDENCE from you that Allenby's fees weren't paid? This forum, including myself, has given you the benefit of the doubt, where's the PROOF seeing as you're now posting it as fact? Or is it 'one way traffic' here?
Or are you talking about Rapitrade wanting 10% of SNR for that small short term loan that they didn't get? Numbers had %13.95 of SNR.
Or are you talking about a strategic investor? But where does hostile takeover come into it?
"we had a 3rd party express an interest in repaying creditors and re-starting mining just before Andy Ruhan stepped in with his brotherly loan and the starting of the arbitration process." I don't remember seeing that anywhere.
