FPGA is poorly understood. This is what would be possible for an OEM...with a bit of creative thinking from Semicast...
"Phone-as-a-key" remote door unlock via iOS/Android app
Load advanced biometric facial recognition IP to FPGA
Authenticate driver locally or via cloud (OTA)

on p.5 of SM 2018 annual report "...Group’s core head, face and eye tracking interpreting and identification technologies"
FPGA can be reconfigured in a fraction of a second. Same FPGA can be used sequentially for many different tasks. Can't do this on ASIC/MCU/GPU.

This functionality is well proven. Here is an EE Times document discussing it (from 2006)

Page 5 says 10k units, however in London in March management said 13k units were on order and ready to ship.
Management (2 of them) told me fleet was all on track
Kevin T stated in his presentation in June 20k fleet units
Page 46 Mike M got paid $1.8m.

Its things like this i want changed.

Red, exactly NDA wouldn't allow it. I expect DW's between now and Xmas - no names just the usual general part of the world it's in. But we will be able to work out who it is.

Whatever, I hope we don't have to wait until the New Year for the next DW. Wouldn't NDAs preclude any such fanfares anyway?

I think he said this? "Most obvious time for DWs to be finalized is at CES, with lots of media attention"?

I would say they have concept cars at CES for media attention, but DW are finalised when the tender process completes which is at any time of the year and not linked to CES

Red, CES is Jan every year and SEE have been a headline for years, I don't think that's when we get DW announced, it's more about the OEM production and hence tendering timeline

1) CES Jan 2015 - Intel- JLR - SEE

Intel is collaborating with Jaguar Land Rover* and Seeing Machines* to demonstrate new, in-vehicle sensing technology in the dashboard that monitors the driver’s face and eyes to reduce distracted and drowsy driving. The technology is being showcased in a Jaguar* F-Type prototype vehicle developed in collaboration with Intel at Jaguar Land Rover’s new R&D facility in Portland, Oregon and can be found in the Las Vegas Convention Center, Central Hall, Intel Booth #7252 during CES.

2) CES 2016 - Samsung- SEE

3) CES 2017 - Bosch- SEE

Now when is CES?

Semicast Research
@semicast_res
With the L4 dream fading & L2 autosteering cars now truly passé, eye gaze tracking (DMS) looks well set to be the attention grabbing tech innovation for Tier 1s & OEMs at CES. Most obvious time for DWs to be finalized is at CES, with lots of media attention.

Happy Monday
Today 11:38
I'm more Shuan Ryder than Bob Geldoff this morning.

The company has answered a number of questions today to shareholders and I commend them for that.

1) Renumeration

- the letter from Mr Walker is very detailed and transparent, I for one welcome the openness and I am content it's fair.

2) Scalability

A little more about the Chip in the annual report I believe proves what we have thought for a while about its game-changing impact

3) AGM

I look forward to hearing some details of the strategy plan for the future from the new Chair.

That is probably what they mean Seeing, if only they made that clear.
Of the 4 'floaters' on the right of main text
3
automotive OEM program
design awards

Over 10,000

Guardian units
worldwide

FOVIO Chip
to deliver
automotive DMS
on US OEM
program

A$30.7
million
revenue

1.3 billion

real-world,
on-road driving

I don't think the data or the total guardian units are specific to this year so to me it reads like only 3 DW total. We know there are more so either bad PR design or... There is no other mention of our total design wins anywhere in the document.

I agree Lewbo and the paragraph just before that one is key also and answers another question about scalability, it's manufactured by a "semi conductor specialist" (Xilinx I assume)

"A major breakthrough for Seeing Machines technology was the introduction of the FOVIO Chip, secured on two recent automotive OEM program awards, one in North America and one in China.

The ability to deliver the DMS technology via the FOVIO Chip, manufactured by a semi-conductor specialst, considerably broadens Seeing Machines’ addressable market, particularly given the tight timeframes in which OEMs are implementing
semi-automated driving technology as well as incorporating DMS to enhance safety and begin preparation for global regulatory guidance."

There was one paragraph in the annual report that could be glossed over but it is VERY significant.....OTA updates are a major thing to OEMs if they want a change made/more options. The fact that OTA can be deployed to the FOVIO chip is a massive step up from our competitors......Hence why Ford jumped so quickly I expect........

[The over-the-air upgradable FOVIO Chip will also be leveraged to provide the Seeing Machines DMS platform across multiple transport sectors and represents an efficient way to deliver additional performance capability to grow average revenue per vehicle as automotive OEMs and Tier 1 partners work with our engineers to develop and advance in-vehicle signals to complement and enhance ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) performance by allowing vehicles to understand real-time driver performance and behaviour.]

Fovio Chip & Xilinx Auto Customers
Today 11:12
Found this article interesting as I continue my research in SEE. Sorry if old research but it's news to me.
https://forums.xilinx.com/t5/Xilinx-Xclusive-Blog/Beep-Beep-The-case-for-FPGAs-for-ADAS-and-Autonomous-Driving/ba-p/869185

I think it's safe to say SM Fovio FPGA-based chip has a distinct advantage in securing deals with Xilinx automotive customers of which there are 29 OEMs in 111 models as of 29/06/18 (date of article) - Not to mention the 16 Tier 1's listed. (see chart at bottom). Good Link/Connection reference here for OEM wins using the Fovio chip...

It's great to see continuing growth in Xilinx automotive and I liked the last paragraph 'But the differentiators don’t stop with the five listed above. Watch this space for an upcoming post where we share two exciting, emerging automotive applications that are possible only with FPGA.' Will try to email them for an update...

Also check out this article which continues to state the benefits of automakers using Xilinx FPGAs.
https://www.eetimes.com/document.asp?doc_id=1333419&page_number=1

It's good to note also SM can compete/offer a software solution (algorithms) for non Xilinx-Automotive-OEM customers as well as their FPGA based hardware (Fovio) solution.

Not sure if any of these names could be added or are missing from Lewbo's chart (havn't checked). I'm sure everyone else is more up-to-date than me.
