well its a metre into the road so I might leave it!Or maybe do it 5 in the morning.I presume they twist anti clockwise?I have a 3ft prybar.

Still recovering from last nights game.I think there is a pic of me doing a headstand after 90 minutes somewhere on social media!People are saying greatest game ever in the Champions league. Certainly heart attack inducing..

I`m getting used to these rises.Hopefully we can continue up to good profit levels.Another week without the parly mental kids will help.

carefull if using a hammer to free the little lid. a guy i worked with lost an eye after belting one with a hammer and having it shatter on him and hit him in the face. long strong solid prybar is best (have a couple if needed) and lots of wobbling. Well done with the veggies, far keener than my paltry efforts. now if you could grow burgers, hummm?

Im doing ok these days on soft food now so a better variety to eat which is nice. no steak yet though.

I agree! re no 40. No 42 with the big garden I shall keep off meter. My neighbour reckons that small round gunmetal lid we saw in the road might be my stopcock.I may have to try and break the seal with hammer and something or other.

How`s your health? Getting better by the day?

helps the SP. Not keen on carrots mate but will grow a few for jules.Probably in an old bin to keep them above the level of the Carrot fly.Spinach, loads of onions, spuds and the first lot of bean plants now circling the canes..We are lucky down here to get em in so early.Got loads of strawbs growning and a coupke of goosgob bushes.A cherry and a Victoria plum.Might try a few lettuce but the brudy slugs get em usually. Yesterday had some rhubarb and custard out of the garden.Freezing a load.(not managed to grow custard yet) Tommy shelter tasking shape to stop tomatoes and chillies drowning!.
Thats the end of gardeners world.
Good rise today, glad I topped up at the bottom, got my average down nicely. Will all be spoiled by the poli brats coming back from half term..

crikey mate, that sounds like a bit of a shambles, not unusual though. If they could fit a meter in the second place though that would be a good plan and would chop the second bill down to just the standing charges (circa £75pa). You'd definately want the place you live in to stay unmetered then 100% :)

The reason ftsie and
16 Apr '19
sector prices have been moving in reciprocal directions is because a large proportion of ftsie companies are Dollar earners.Rise in the dollar means more earning but more expensive fuel for airlines not based in the USA.
Other factors are now in play of more significance.IE an apparent brexit period of hope,or at least no political nonsense as the politicos are on the beach ..hopefully not just burying their heads in the sand but the rest of them too. Here`s to high tides. :)

Standard practice doug.Fill the plane with "must fly on that date" customers at premium.Cover costs then all the rest is profit. We never book unless the price is right and generally even the cheapest tickets (as low as £10) end up in RYA flogging a sandwich or double G and T.
It`s a formula that has stood the test of time.

I note some regular 500 sells in amongst the buys. If that`s our resident shorter he may need bike clips soon. It`s a great thought.

Booked a flight back in Feb. Notice now that flight has gone down in price 20%. Used to be that fares increased as the date got nearer, now we have the opposite - desperately reducing prices to fill the planes. Seems that if this happening across the board then RYA won't reach their targets.

helped by "brexit". Mkts have always hated uncertainty more than anything else. $/£ $ euro .. POO ? Earnings in multiplke currencies. What is important is to have a business model that can cope with any situation and ensure that they are the survivors.NOT having to pay a divi (apart from the odd rare "special one") is a part of that business model for RYA.I personally prefer the share buyback programme. It`s cheaper to implement, there is no Tax / accountancy probs for me and long term reducing the number of shares in circulation by cancelling them is a real positive although the benefits are not immediately obvious.

I thought they were Indian based ..maybe thinking of something else.Further consolidation inevitable I`m afraid as companies (like Flyb , Monarch etc..rely too heavily on Oil costs and Exchange rates being favourable. It`s a poor business model and RYA have never relied on profits from uncertain variable costs.
You find a popular route, you find an accommodating airport willing to accept RYA terms and you milk it.Fill the plane grabbing as much profit per head as you can then try and make sure there are no empty seats by discounting if necessary. If Airport costs go up or the facility does not meet the punctuality criteria, ruthlessly close the route. They did thisto my cost when they shut down the Biaritz /Birmingham route circa 6 years ago.The planes used to land virtually in the town and you got there for breakfast. Great service but the Authorities got greedy ..so they got the chop. It`s true RYA do use some airports way outside the visitor areas but then anyone who has flown to Arlanda (Stockholm) with BA will know that feeling.. :)

One stock that is closely tied to the fluctuations of the exchange rate is easyJet PLC (LON:EZJ); the stock was up 1.8% as investors try to figure out how much it will benefit from Jet Airways going belly-up.

“There’s mounting speculation that Jet Airways could be the next airline to go under after reports the firm are flying just 7 planes as it seeks a solution to its growing debt problem. The decision to ground around 80% of its fleet has been exacerbated by pilots striking and means that thousands of passengers have been left stranded as the search continues for investors to buy 75% of the company,” noted David Cheetham at XTB Online

I hope we do not lose our RYA year round twice weekly from Newquay to Alicante! I `m also hoping our Faro summer schedule stays online. As for flyb. The brudy planes have had three break downs since the Heathrow started to NQY.
No surprise there.COW should have resigned in shame a long time ago.Totally out of her depth.

More New Exeter routes
12 Apr '19
Ryanair has launched new winter flights from Exeter to Alicante in Spain - stepping into the breach when Flybe stops its sun routes in October.

You will be able to fly to Alicante with Ryanair from 29 October with tickets on sale from today.

It comes after Flybe announced that its own sunshine flights would stop from October 26 when it hands back its jet planes to scale back the business to its core Q400 turboprop fleet.

It means that Flybe flights to Alicante, Malaga and Faro will stop.

But now, Ryanair has said it will take passengers to Alicante twice a week instead.

And it has already announced year-round flights to Malaga, so current Flybe passengers won't miss out there either.

It's just the future of the Faro route we don't know about yet.

Ryanair has already launched three new routes from Exeter to Malta, Malaga and Naples, its first ever flights from the airport.

Flybe confirmed last week that its Alicante, Malaga and Faro route would stop when it withdraws a jet aircraft from Exeter on October 26 as part of its planned fleet reduction strategy.

It is focusing instead on its Q400 aircraft which operates the vast majority of its domestic and European routes from Exeter.

Matt Roach, Managing Director of Exeter Airport, said: “We’re delighted that Ryanair is expanding its network from Exeter and that there will be no gap in service for passengers to Alicante between the summer and winter timetable.

“Ryanair has predicted up to 85,000 extra passengers a year though Exeter, taking our numbers above one million for the first time since 2007.”

To cater for extra demand the airport is investing £1 million in new passenger handling facilities in preparation for the peak season.

Ryanair’s flights from Exeter to Alicante will operate twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and are on sale now at www.ryanair.com
