what were they doing before this? seems odd they've settled on this course of action. An expensive trip. Hopefully, the true and faithful will be rewarded eventually.
http://tinyurl.com/gtr7et3 Ashley Mackenzie, chief executive of online video and marketing firm Rightster Group PLC (LON:RSTR) says the company is making “huge strides” towards profitability, and says the firm is making “good progress on the strategic move to launching our own owned and operated channel”. The company reported on Wednesday that current trading for 2016 is in line with expectations as it enters a new chapter following a major restructuring. Part of the group's plan is to transform from a third-party technology provider to owning and operating its own video channels after it raised £10mln in a discounted placing last year and also plans to change its name to Brave Bison Group PLC. Looking forward, Mackenzie says “this is the year that Rightser, soon to be Brave Bison, turns the corner” adding that the company will make “real, tangible steps to profitability”.
I thought the results were pretty good and show that the company is going in the right direction. Enough cash to survive for now. Shares at an all time low. Looks like the start of a recovery. Been following Rightster on and off since it floated as I know one of the board of directors. Always had the impression in the early days that it was a bit too freewheeling but the current leadership team seem better. Anyway, not betting the house on it but hoping the operating profit can be reflected in the share price at some point.
OMG how many people, how much time and how much did this new brand name cost us?! what were the alternatives!?
Absolutely stonking RNS
We really need some news to get this share moving again. A lot of potential here but seems to have gone very quiet.
A wafer thin 65M shares. This is great news.
Hopefully the right way now!
Movement
is happening here? I'm amazed the Paramount partnership news didn't positively effect things....we need a good RNS
Totally agree! The new direction will cut the hemorrhaging of cash whilst maintaining the revenue growth over the last 3-4 quarters. The Paramount deal will hopefully pay back big, if not just from a PR point of view!
Surely a massive gain for the company ...new board, funds raised and a deal with Paramount.
only 24% of shares in free float !
The online video market continues to grow rapidly and internationalise and this is expected to accelerate in 2015/16. The $230 billion TV advertising market (Carat AdSpend Report, March 2015) faces challenges as audiences move to multiple online video platforms and devices. As a result, the online video market is growing rapidly and TV advertising budget is progressively shifting to online video. Nielsen and the IAB have publicly recommended Brands shift at least 15% of their TV budgets to digital media. A recent report by ZenithOptimedia (Executive summary: Advertising Expenditure Forecasts March 2015) predicts global ad expenditure will reach $544 billion by the end of 2015. Within this global ad expenditure, it estimates that online video is growing faster than any other digital category or sub-category, growing 34% to $10.9 billion in 2014, and forecast to grow at an average of 29% a year to reach $23.3 billion in 2017. YouTube no longer represents the only major video platform. Other social media platforms are growing and providing compelling destinations for audiences and Brands, such as Facebook, Snapchat and Twitter. Online native video Creators are increasingly in demand from Brands as they continue to grow in influence and capture more mainstream media outlets. As young audiences watch increasing amounts of video online across a broad range of devices, they gravitate towards new online talent. Brands identify an opportunity to engage these young audiences more effectively.
Most missed this today .
Totally agree

Paramount Pictures. nice
Surely this company is looking like a strong buy now after the change of strategy and gm resolutions being passed? Surely those normal shares will bring that buy price down further? Interesting stuff!
@Johnny - Kind words but you might have missed less insightful ones elsewhere... :-) Interesting BoD changes announced today. MacKenzie has a terrific track record and understands this space. I therefore doubt that a sale will be on the cards for much longer. The big ii shareholders announced recently are not short term merchants either. At 8p I thought this would not go much lower, and so I bought; it is incredibly hard to call the bottom on shares like this as they can halve overnight on a rumour, but I really think that the odds here look good. It can as easily be a ten bagger as lose the lot and it will be a fun ride. This is an incredibly valuable area of marketing and Rightster has a lead which, if exploited will make it a goldmine. Whatever else, you can be sure it won't be boring.... GLA GS
I think with Cloud based businesses having a stellar day today has possibly pushed the share price up today. Been through hell lately, but long term I would want some progress. Must admit though, currently with what's happening in the business I'm quite happy to watch till I take the plunge in.
Thank you Mr. Smiley. As inciteful as ever, perhaps I won't write these off to AIM heaven just yet! For those that don't know GS is one of the best posters on LSE having made brilliant contributions to the OPAY and XLM boards.
Interesting. I was listening to someone who REALLY knows what they are talking about using the term ADpocalypse. As in "advertising is dead/dying". He maintained that the future of online sales lies in clickable content. That is what Rightster does. I am not saying this share is for widows and orphans (it has fallen about 50% since I posted here last in June, but if it gets it right, then it really does have the potential to multiply its market cap many times before someone like Google buys it out. Woodford would not have taken 10% if he thought it was going to go bust tomorrow or that it was going to be sold for less than its present sp. He makes mistakes like the rest of us, but I guess his risk/reward calculation makes a bet like this look attractive. So I bought a little today, finally, and expect it to go to either 0p or 80p.... :-) GLA GS
