Yes. There is optimism, even more so from Bill Armstrong
''Look up on utube"Geologist ' s risky bet pays off in big Alaska oil find".
Fascinating interview with Bill Armstrong about his big 3 billion barrel oil discovery on horse shoe #1.
"Oil search "deal also gets mentioned. According to bill ,there is plenty more oil left in that area as well as other areas of North slope.
He says horse shoe area of 21x3 miles is full of oil. ''

Thanks and yes, this asset is in a friendly (to us at least), democratic country where we also share the language, which always helps. :o)
Fill to spill. I was at one of the meetings where PB suggested that everything in Alaska is filled to spill.... Apologies this is not about rmp or the current well but it will hopefully give you some confidence in the team running the show. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDBUz-bovezCRHX2zZXhkBtmZcDGqw7xq
Thanks for that information Mike.
I'll take 'filled to spill' on RMP's conventional asset every day of the week. :O)
I imagine 88e will find managing a conventional drill in the Western Blocks a breeze in comparison to the unconventional oil shale drills they've been managing there to date.
Shallow drill too, according to Otto.
_______________
Project economics will be further enhanced by the shallow nature of the oil pool.
Paul Basinski
Suggested that all sealed traps are filled to spill
The success of 14 wild cat drills between Armstrong/Repsol suggested that he may be right. The soup kitchen under icewine has supplied Prudoe and surrounding areas with their oil.
Dr S Staley runs the conventional appraisal for 88e. His judgement is pretty good.
Anything over 20% COS for conventional usually triggers a green light for a drill.
I am in for a win as the North Slope is looking way more prolific than the South china Sea and the Gulf of Mexico, combined! High Grade API is also a feature of this region.
Disclaimer; I hold in 88e and may be adding more
Fubs and Rolling,
Its a pleasure to read such well written reasoned arguments, I can understand both of your positions and think you have both captured the RMP dynamics very well.
Im a Puntland veteran, thought this share was done and dusted, but now I not only have a chance to recoup my stake but also potentially make a substantial sum here if this comes through.
I fully bought into all the marketing potential and spin for the Somalia debacle - I still think the oil is there - but RMP and Somalia are possibly the worst mix of Geopolitics and company management possible!
The COS on this drill in Alaska is superb, we are in USA, drill run by another respected company - RMP hopefully cant do anything to screw this up (please) , we just need to wait for results and a potential $ 7Billion NPV is a cogent argument - my hope for RMP, gone for many years, is now rekindled.
