as someone who has recently left OXB i can inform you that they do not own OXBOX, it was leased and neither do they own ISIS house next to Windrush. In addition as key staff leave they are not being replaced and the moral of the staff is very low nd a large amount of the staff are looking to leave. The staff have no faith in the management and it is only going one way ane that is down.
Yep. Another false dawn. Still in but wishing I wasn't.
GLALTH
Can't seem to stay above a fiver for any length of time
Is this the start of something or another false dawn?
And yes something needs to be done about the dismal share price but not sure what?
I never rated Peel Hunt but another broker might possibly be an indication of a listing across the water!
Is today's one about the broker an indication that something needs to be done to boost the sp or am I reading too much optimism into it?
Hasn't done anything for the sp.
What will shift this back towards the recent highs - if anything?
Positive news if a little scant on detail.
Just when the sp was starting to look a little healthier !
OXB need to streamline the business and perhaps consider mRNA vaccine manufacturing, as there is a global shortage of mRNA vaccine manufacturing capacity.
Taverham: I hope you are right though this para is capable of being read both positively and negatively and what are the implications?
Under the new agreement, manufacturing of vaccines at Oxford Biomedica's world class 84,000 sq. ft manufacturing facility, Oxbox, will be available to AstraZeneca on an as needed basis beyond 2022.
That implies it is not needed now.
Does it mean being kept for them so there are no other uses for it?
How much of the facility is ringfenced and for how long as is Oxb being compensated for that?
More questions than answers. It seems temporarily to have stopped the drop so fingers crossed there is some good news in the wings.
AZ must have an indication from somewhere that their vaccine features in the future plans of at least one jurisdiction - if not why the deal?
“potential future manufacturing opportunities for the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. “ Better than nothing..
It might be that the vaccine news is already built into the share price now ! The markets and those in the know are bound to be fully aware that there will be no further revenues from Astra hence the massive drop and obvious concern re future costs and Homology.
The Moderna news must mean the end of the AZ vaccine. UK govt supporting Moderna. The article I read mentioned Pfizer but not AZ. I wonder of OXB will say anything or keep us all in the dark for a while longer.
Morning Kern
It has been remarkably quiet on the Oxb front as usual. No word on Homology progress but any rise is welcome. Would reinvest if I could be sure of hitting bottom but wouldn’t everyone. My technology and pharma funds ( in fact all my funds) are dropping like a stone and we aren’t officially in a recession yet.
Interesting and scary times ahead.
Hi Shatter
Nice rise today. Let's hope it is the harbinger of things to come and we get some good news though on what is difficult to see, certainly not AZ as we would have been told by now.
I am still holding.
Who would have thought that the sp would have dropped 75% in less than 10 months! This can be a volatile share but where is the bottom?
Major shareholders don’t always get it right. Some have had quite a chequered past . Vulpes and the Diggles have had a few mishaps over the years. For the sp to drop by over two thirds is not a good investment no matter how you try to paint it. Diggle has stepped away as well.
kernowlad this is your worry then you should sell and move on. Investing s definitely not for you.
Novo, Vulpes and Lion trust increased their stakes in April, insiders bought quite a bit. One should not confuse the SP drop because of fundamentals vs the market cash moves
Really, it is better for you to sell and move on if you believe that it will go "fall away into nothing"
GLA
I think the worry is (at least with me) that it will fail and fall away into almost nothing.
Where is the revenue coming from to support its activities?
Why the silence on AZ when everyone must be assuming the deal is dead?
etc etc
so take what you can when you can
Hawkander Really????? you sold at 5y low..... you may have been desperate for money then.
I must admit that after I don`t know how many years, I sold my remaining shares, may return at some later date. GLA
