The previous 6 months total costs were $6 million per month, that included high interest payments, fleet servicing, infrastructure improvements, inefficient production, high wages, so I’m hoping these costs have reduced to $5 million per month for the last 3 months with our new management, with 20k ounces gold production, 3k ounces stored from the previous quarter, I’m hoping for $23k sold @ $1300

I will be happy with 16k oz. At an average cost of gold of $1300 per oz, that would give a revenue of $20.8 m. If I remember correctly, the total costs last quarter were around $20 m. So they reach break-even! It's a crude calculation based on total costs staying roughly the same, but a vast improvement in efficiency, in particular BIOX performance. At 20k oz, that's a revenue of $26 m. At that amount of revenue per quarter, plus debt restructuring (no more 20% p.a. and US libor + 8%, both shocking), then the finances should be manageable. This is only my opinion. What do others think?

Excellent, getting a picture of our expectations, to the nearest 0.25k ounces for those who are really confident of nailing it perfectly, keep em coming, don’t miss out on the “Golden Nugget Award” good luck!

I'm forever the optimist and so often end up disappointed - so I'm hoping my 18k prediction will be nicely exceeded by reality!

Still a very long way to go to recover the fall (on very low volume) from 3.5p attained last year.

Where would the share price go if the banks agreed to a nominal haircut on their debt for example?

I fully believe MTL is on the cusp of releasing some very good news updates starting next week with Q1 production numbers - the re-rating will continue IMO.

Rising nicely today - I think last time we saw some resistance around 1.8, so I doubt we'll break 2p until the quarterly output figures RNS is released - next week? Meanwhile, Happy Easter!

Plus, it is an open pit mine so they would use explosives to go through the hard part of the mine. All carried out safety. I have seen a few open pit mines and it is quite impressive the way they stage the explosions.

Disector, I would say it all depends on how much material they have in front of the plant. As the throughput was much lower in previous month's, there could be a decent pile of material in front of the plant. They can also blend different materials from various parts of the mine or even be selective about it. All mining is carried out that way even coal mining.

Throughput
Thu 04:38
The reason they can put through higher rates (6,500 tonnes per day quoted below) above the design of 1.75 mtpa or 4,600 tonnes per day is because they are mining Stage 2 of the open pit, stripping their way down through the oxide and transitional material which is much easier to put through the rolls crusher, essentially a soft rock counter rotating coal crusher. Stage 1 and 1.5 of the open pit is in fresh hard ore and has been for some time now (the nice pictures you see on the website is Stage 1/1.5 and is actually 15 metres under water at present while they concentrate on Stage 2). As they bring stage 2 down they will start to move back into fresher and harder ore and the throughput rate will likely decrease back to design levels. Cheers DYOR.

RE: This is the last sub 1p day
Thu 00:53
Tomorrow may be the last chance pi’s have to take or add to their position here, quartely results due next week and imo they’l show a steady increase in production. News of debt restructuring is also due next week if the option to extend for another month (which imo will be the case) isn’t triggered.

Current price is a steal considering risk v reward / DB has done a great job since hes arrived seeing us through rocky waters, were not quite on shore but will be very soon.

Extremely hard to buy when this moves, which is good for us holders. Gla

That was exactly the answer I was hoping for - I do not have the technicals so readily available.

I am sure that your information will be invaluable to encourage the new spirits and validate the LTH philosophy

I am now showing profit, it has been a long tunnel, but my bank manager is now talking to me!!

And the Wife!!!

May the farce be with us, onwards and upwards, man only landed on the moon because he had a dream.

RE: Gold ore Content
Wed 14:43
Hi Roy, the gold content is worked out by the land surveys, the land up is drilled to measure the gold content at different depths and locations, so they know how much gold is in each tonne, which is mapped on a computer, they know how much land has to be striped out to get to the gold bearing earth before its pushed through the processing plant, so they know what to expect from each tonne, they expect between 1.5g and 1.6g per tonne if the processing plant is running at 100%, it’s never guess work, that’s how they know what it’s efficiency rate actually is.
I’m not expecting too much when I hope for 75% efficiency when we were at 65% at the end of Dec 2018, I’m hoping we’re at 80% at the end of March but have managed an average over the 3 month period of 75%, last few trading days before the news, can’t wait, reminds of being 8 and Christmas is a week away.
