That would be fine except Carlsberg ( remember they are in charge) brew on an industrial scale. That is one of the reasons why such an excellent brewery at Wychwood is being closed. Smaller breweries have yeast strains without their production facilty that gives a beer/ale it's unique taste and aroma.
Real ales are mostly brewed by pubs that have their own micro-brewery.
I think they should open a real ale brewery.
Hello, Good morning. Sure well my posts are about community, people, culture, values and corruption and misrepresentation which I believe is often at the expense of the working man or woman. I think we are quite an earthy, humble, kind and spirited people. Also about the low rating of UK share prices with some companies valued not just way below assets but below cash on the balance sheet…negative value. Community pubs, prosperity and disposable incomes. I also like the beer although taking a few weeks off alcohol as I will with social media including this shortly. Good luck with your shares!
Jargonpain, please explain the relevance of the post to Marstons?
Over 25 years ago I asked the trustees of the mine workers pension scheme why the spare money could not be spent in the old coal mining communities. It seems instead it was wasted on things like hs2 and still waiting for the proper northern transport network improvements. Politicians should have more regard for communities, the environment and nature. Proper jobs not zero hour contracts.
Hi well to me anyway it seems that the system has disconnected, like an engine that has detached from a boat leaving the passengers. I’ve been struggling with a whole host of services and organisations these past few years, it has really been quite incredible and actually difficult to function at times.
It would be good if somebody could improve our global rating as well as I believe we may be one of the least liked countries in the world. Maybe there should be a minister of peace, like the minister of war I think there once was.. a person to just focus on peace and maybe get people around the table and maybe other countries. A peace accord. I’ll drink to that.
I’m in and out of this ITV, Pfd, Kier and a few others, people shouldn’t go too far wrong with them all being well. I try and hold a minimum of 3 which is not enough really so maybe changing.
One love.
Much like the general business structures countrywide, a them and us culture
Eurozone inflation down to 2.3% most wondering why they have not cut rates already. Suppose they just copy the USA who also showed inflation at 2.4% just above their 2% marker. Cheaper rates soon. Might prompt interest here.
Not really much about community in the budget but hopefully some of these pubs will remain part of the community.
On the one hand we currently have multi millionaire pensioners who have lived through an era of rising property values, final salary pension schemes, various windfalls and job security getting a basic state pension. Whilst on the other hand money has been taken from the mine workers pension scheme, money that should have been invested into those communities.
No anti corruption measures, website or whistle blowing incentives. Not sure what oath an MP has to take but surely they need to declare that they will represent their community regardless of race, religion, sex, sexuality / ethnicity. Maybe some money could have been raised by introducing a VAR type system in Parliament with fines for bad behaviour, divisive rhetoric. Footballers have it why not politicians.
I do think that best practice is to align managements interest with shareholders and it does not speak well for MARS that they continue to dilute shareholders with cheap options in favour of management whilst shareholders are left with diddly squat.
So theres my answer, duty freeze and minimum wage up,not much help for the business,
There may well be some relief for the Hospitality sector, however the Welsh Government has other ideas with the introduction of an average levy on all Pubs in Wales ( £6000.00 pa)
As I understand, the options are free gratis providing certain targets are achieved. More to the point is this an insult to those long suffering shareholders who lost dividend some time ago. Would it not be appropriate for options to be granted in alignment with the restitution of dividends?
Views please
Have these directors heard a "whisper on the grape vine" that there may be some good news in the budget this afternoon to revive the ailing beer trade,,,
Yes brokers are upticking this share and just as the canny Directors have disclosed their etake up on their inherited shares based on performance, plus future options, again linked to future performance and one additional purchase at 33p -all released tonight at close.
Those canny Directors have taken them up at an opportune moment in time in price. Good timing I would say!??
Should see a response in price very soon as this share is looking to rise, and the Directors know something. IMHO.
Literally just raised it. 40p price target
39p is easily achievable - just need patience.
Don’t worry, business has resumed as normal at £0.29
Yes, but their intra day graph is not showing this.
Google showing after hours price of £0.39 anybody else seeing this
Some big trades at the end including a mis-quote I assume, pushing the SP to 39p. TR1 inbound? Takeover?
Come on Tesla man, you are a Trader as your post confirms.
Good luck, even penny shares can come unstuck especially in this market.
Barchild - Actually my spread over the market for the past 3 weeks has risen very nicely thanks. I expect the two or three speculative shares also to turn positive very soon. It always pays to spread risk and buy some additional risk when the time is right. I always suffer with too many gains for the year and with the CGT allowance being reduced that makes life even more difficult for this and next yr especially. Still all to their own. Positive comments can bring out the short sellers (I wonder who they are on here) and then it's time to buy again, as they have to buy back sometime and always appears to make an appearance as the price is starting to rise? Funny that! GLA/DYOR and enjoy.
Discharger
Loan rates coming down soon, you always spout this but forget to point out that so many of MARS debts are capped & collared, are you suffering memory loss ?
Beer is cheaper, arguably, than cigs/vapes but way pricier than the "highs" that most youngsters use these days.
Not to mention buying supermarket Marstons and drinking it at home whilst the pub down the road is half empty to empty but paying for staff and power despite that.
Yes there are plenty of cheap shares in UK market, ESKN for instance, aka Southend Airport which you have been puffing lately all the way down to less than 1p !
Face it, Superdischarger, sub 30p MARS are basically option money, rather like ESKN some months back...
Not being half as smart as you are, I can only look on things simplistically, if I buy at sub 30p I could do very well but I could lose the lot, why is that so difficult for you to take on board ?
Loan rates will be coming down soon which will help. Wages are now higher than inflation too so more punters have money in their pocket. Beer is still cheap compared to Vapes of Cigs for a working man. Warmer weather will bring in more business. Lots of rubbish on here referring to no. of pubs, etc. and some seem to have missed the fact the Partnership with Carlsberg has just acquired supplying over 1500 establishments to Stonegate, as well as supply the 1400 plus of Marstons own pubs, and yes Marston still own 40% of the joint brewery venture with Carlsberg that has also been growing fast! So cheaper loans, more sales, and we await the Brewery figs for Christmas and the new year where the 8% increase in sales declared by Marstons was only it would seem for their pubs, and not home sales through the Brewery. Lots to look forward to and a good price to come in.IMHO. DYOR, GLA. ps. Sooner or later we will be seeing like on other FTSE cheap shares some positive action we just need to be patient but many shares are now moving fast into recovery mode and this share will follow soon I am sure.
