IHG more diverse and well known brand. if you you wanna compare something to PPH is AC, their diversity similar. also debt/equity ratio is not so appealing if some of your businesses are seasonal etc...

Exactly what I’m wondering. Can only think it’s the big boys manipulating things to pick up some cheap cheap
so why the drop?
Will investors be willing to stay in InterContinental Hotels after Tuesday’s full year results?
In terms of Tuesday’s results, the fourth quarter performance of those regions – namely the US, Middle East and Australia – that struggled in Q3 are going to be under scrutiny. Given it is firmly ‘early 2019’, further word on InterContinental’s $500 million special dividend is expected, while investors will be after more details on the recently announced $300 million acquisition of luxury hotel brand Six Senses.

Does anyone know what share perks there are if you own ING shares. Booking discounts etc I have tried to look up on the internet but can't seem to find what they are. Also how many shares do you have to own
The boss of InterContinental Hotels still wants more regulation and higher taxes on the website... Elsewhere, competition is hotting up. In London, more hotel rooms (9,000) will be added by IHG and its rivals this year than before the 2012 Olympics (8,000), according to the accountancy giant PwC. Across China, where Barr has set his sights on expansion, Accor is growing swiftly, and online travel agents continue to bite. Airbnb, which has a presence in 192 countries, is now valued at 2 times IHGs market capitalisation. Were going to have to do things differently, admits Barr. The big deals happened and we werent part of them. Our competitors are growing faster than we are. Instead of a big deal which he claims would be too much for shareholders to swallow he wants to buy a couple of smaller luxury brands. He is also launching Avid, which will open its first hotel in Oklahoma City later this year. ***IHG is also close to signing a deal to buy another luxury brand, costing $50-$100 more a night than InterContinental. Last week, during a conference in Berlin, Barr said he hoped to have more news in a short period. No comment yet on the rumours that this brand is Belmond. Perhaps IHG is about to catch up with its rivals after all.****
You would have thought it was a done deal given the recent price increase. I'm long but would be tempted to put a bet on the downside if I was brave enough. Probably for the best I'm not.

Apologies for board hopping but- The petition is going quite well; ~4500 signatures so far. Although it really needs a turbo boost. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/112044/sponsors/frRbCOsOLO6QqIN82UOX This petition was stalled in parliament since 12th Aug 15; finally green lit on 12th feb 2016. The FCA don't even reply on the matter, now is your chance to have your say. If you hate seeing buys reported as sells etc!!!!!! Has already been sent to Martin Lewis, Daily Mail, Moneyweek & Watchdog. My local MP supported this petition by writing to the petitions committee to help un-stall it. There’s 650 MP’s in Westminster, So have you written to your MP? 649 to go! If this petition doesn’t reach 10,000; then imo we might as well have not bothered as it will almost certainly be filed B1N; @ 10,000 the government should respond. We are currently getting approx. 100 new signatures a week, but need 3x that amount to reach the target with only 15 weeks to go. At 5000 I will send this to the PM & the chancellor as well as my MP again. So – If you haven’t yet signed or indeed have but haven’t passed it on to others, then now’s the time to do so. If each person who has signed can get just one other person to sign then we will double the total immediately. I have posted to all aim listed gas n oilies, currently doing the footsy 100. But I can only do so much to push this. Really need you guys & gals to help. Thanks to all who have signed so far. We really need a social / media savvy individual to help generate more interest in this.
